Illegal and unethical!!!! I was at Old Navy, where I spent $455.10. The cashier asked if I wanted to apply for a credit card, if approved it would give me a discount that would bring my total under $300. I have a credit score of 784, so I figured it would be good to get the savings. I was shocked when my application was declined. I was so embarrassed to be denied right in front of a crowd of people, when I know I was qualified. The cashier said I would get a letter explaining why I was declined. The next day, I received an email congratulating me for being approved for an Old Navy credit card. They denied me in the store so I wouldn't get the savings. Then sent me the credit card hoping they'd get money out of me. Typical bait and switch tactics. I called Barclays and they blamed the store. They sent me to the store's customer service, who said it was the bank's fault. Both were pointing fingers at each other and neither was accepting accountability for their blatant illegal tactics. I will never use this bank for anything and I'll never shot at Old Navy again!!

This business's credit card is a joke. Don't bother trying to use it if you want to know how much you owe, or if you just want to reset your automatic withdrawal. I'm paying my account off and NEVER using this card again. It's impossible to even reach someone to ask about why you're locked out, when you just registered and saved your info to Passwords. They can't recognize your account, and their "help" desk is just a repeating circle of options, none of which respond.

I made a purchase with my Barclays Credit Card. The seller sold me a product that was defective and inoperable. I contacted the seller requesting to return or exchange the item. The sellers ad stated they accept returns. After excessive back and forth e-mails to the seller, including providing video evidence as requested, they refused to accept the return of the defective product. The seller then stopped responding to all emails and phone calls. I contacted Barclays to dispute the transaction. On the initial call I told Barclays that I have proof that I attempted to return the item. Barclays said they didn't need it at that time, but would contact me later if necessary. Barclays sided with the seller and closed my dispute without requesting more information from me. I again contacted Barclays and was told by a claims manager to print out all e-mails of me attempting to return the product and physically mail it in to reopen my case, which I did. Barclays again closed my case without recontacting me. Barclays failed to provide buyer protection under the credit card agreement. Barclays is allowing a seller to defraud its customers. My emails show proof that my item is defective and that the seller refuses to accept return of the product resulting in no refund. Barclays has seen this evidence and still refuses to pursue the issue. Customer service is horrendous.

Their customer service and customer protection is absolutely atrocious. Booked a hotel using a credit card through them. The Demetree Hotel in Miami Florida cancelled the reservation after it was paid in full and refused to issue a refund because they have a zero refund policy on cancellations. I didn't cancel the reservation, the Demetree Hotel cancelled it in order to scam myself and several others. I tried following the proper channels and filed a dispute with the credit card department with this financial institution. They rejected the dispute on the grounds that the hotel denied ever cancelling the reservation. I found this hard to believe as the HOTEL IS NO LONGER IN BUSINESS AND DO NOT RESPOND TO CALLS OR EMAILS. I provided numerous pieces of evidence. Each was ignored by the bank so that they could keep the charge on the card resulting in finance charges. This bank is shameful and disgusting in their practices. I would strongly recommend nobody using them for any business. Save yourself the headache and go anywhere else.

re: Billing disputes, they are anti-credit card customers. The new "fraud" out there for penalising card holders FOR USING IT without any notice by the establishment is against most state laws in the USA. I disputed my fraud charge but the vendor disregarded it. I paid the bill and notified in writing with all the back-up: the receipt showing the extra charge, the Florida State Consumer Protection Law and photos of what I thought I was paying showing no notice of credit card penalties for using my Barclays card. Barclays response was short and curt. "Unfortunately, we were unable to obtain credit on your behalf because we were unable to accept estimated amounts or proof paid by other means or altered amount disputes." My dispute was not estimated; they had the amount in writing on the receipt. My bill was not altered by me. The vendor demanded I pay it because "Barclay's is charging ME for it, not them". So I will now pay my nearly $3,000 in full and will either cancel the card or maybe use it for 10-20 per month. Get these Brits out of the USA.

Wish I had read reviews of Barclays before taking out a credit card with them. They are extremely difficult to deal with. They promise results of their investigation but don't deliver.

Their servicing of customers who carry the Luxury Card I would give a zero if such a designation were available. We've had a server problem and needed to retrieve our Luxury Card statements from the year 2020 and I tell you it has been an endless comedy of errors over the last six weeks trying to have them simply mail or fax them to us. Every rep has a different story from the prior rep. Over 20 calls to this company in the course of a month and still without resolution. The other banks and cards could get statements to us within an hour or two by fax and they did just that. Their failures at Luxury Card quite frankly are nothing sort of stunning Would avoid

I updated my computer and for whatever reason I lost my log in to Barclays Carnival World Mastercard. I have been trying for OVER 3 weeks to recover my acct. If I spoke to one person at Barclay's I've spoken to 20! They keep telling me the same old thing, click lost user name and password and follow the prompts. At the end it is supposed to give you the option of getting a secure code via email or cell phone. For some reason I only have the email option. Problem is I NEVER receive that email with a secure code. I am beyond frustrated that NOTHING that they have done or told me to do works. Last call this morning I was told to wait 24 hrs. and they will send a text to my cell phone telling me how to recover my acct. We will see, at this point I have zero faith in customer service. Fingers crossed!

Barclays Master Card's philosophy aims on fooling their customers and depriving them of their hard-earned money they indeed utilizing crook robot software to deceive us all and want us to believe they conduct a fair investigation. They failed with their cheaply made software, shame on you Barclays for hiring crook staff to cheat your loyal customers. Prof. Dr. Luigi Pavone Business Professor at Azteca University

After excepting a credit card offer from Barclays through my AARP membership, I immediately gave them information for two balance, transfers. The balance transfers with 0% interest were the sole reason I excepted the credit card offer to begin with. After waiting a few weeks, one of my statement still was not reflecting that the transfer has been made.. When I contacted Barclays, they told me that it failed to process, but they could not tell me why. When I asked how to resolve it, they said they could not help me as it had been over 45 days and I was required to do the transfer in that time period. I spoke with a customer care center supervisor named Kevin, who assured me that he could see that I had provided all information necessary for the balance transfer well ahead of the 45 days. However, since there was a problem on their end (one, they never made any attempt to resolve) he was not able to resubmit it. He acknowledged that I provided all the information to them for the balance transfer well within the required timeline. However, despite it, not being my fault, they could not resubmit and would not honor the original offer. He also assured me that I would be wasting my time to try and escalate it further as he was the final authority, and there was no one else that it could be escalated to.

I purchased a subscription for ONE YEAR with Variety. It was a year before Covid. I liked the entertainment stories, not political ones, and I stopped reading them. I called once to stop the magazine, but they said that since the year subscription was paid at a low rate, to keep it. I moved, and since it was for a year, I imagined they would stop sending the magazine. A year ago, I received a letter from Barclay Bank. I was surprised because I do not have an account in that bank. When I explained I had moved and I had purchased the subscription for ONE YEAR in a promotion, I gave the customer representative the example of going once to eat in a restaurant and keep receiving bills for meals you are not looking for and do not want, they said they would dismiss it. To my surprise, the bill has continued growing, and they have ruined my credit. I could not lease an apartment for that issue.

Customer Be Aware, Poor, Poor customer service. I paid off my credit card with Barclays in Jan. 2022. I closed my credit card account down with them with a zero balance. I had a charge come in from a research company for $129.00 I called the company for a credit and the research company credited my account, two weeks later, one of Barclays Rough employees in the Philippines, did not credit my account and started charging me late fees without my knowledge. Barclays company did not send me any statements not one statement, and then they turned me over too their collections department one year later, April 2023. Barclays ran up a bill of $612.00 on my account, and I closed the account, with a zero balance in Jan. 2022. Barc;ays Rough emplyee ran down my credit score to 623 from 793 in one year, without my knowledge. My ID company Lexington Law reported the mistakes by Barclays to me in December of 2022 without my knowledge. The Rough employee's action destroyed my credit on purpose, they are involved in the conspiracy against me and my company. I have my ID company Lexington Law trying to get them to correct their mistakes, to improve my credit score. Barclays collection department is trying to rectify the terrible situation. This is a raw deal, I will not never do any business with Barclays, nor Citi Bank due to the fact that you cannot trust some of their Rough employees that work for their company's. The employee that processed this transaction on my account did this to me on purpose with out a doubt, to destroy my credit score. I take pride in my credit score, I worked very hard for many years to improve my credit score, and now one of their Rough employees destroyed my credit score in one year. I believe that some of their employees are prejudice against Americans, it is apparent just look what they did to destroy me and my company. I will never do any business with Barclays, nor Citi Card, because you can not trust some of their emplyees actions. I am going to report their company to the Better Business Bureau, in hopes that this will improve customer service relations, for future customers. Aaron
