Fast service, in a sense. You have to walk from the train station to the 3 story garage with the broken elevator and the homeless in the stairwell; you have to ascend (which was scary - even in the daytime). NO problems with the service or the car. It was clean and sufficient for my needs. Just that parking place over the place where the dart busses stop at. Unsavory.

Zero stars. I would love for someone to help me understand how reservations can be taken and confirmed, only to find upon arrival at the rental location - with no prior notification - that the vehicle simply isn't available and the only option is to rent a car costing double the price. We reserved a large sedan online to pick up at the Wilmington, DE train station the next day. I should note that I selected Hertz because it is a well-known company and I thought would be more responsive than other rental companies, and I stopped looking for rentals once I received a confirmation and price from them. We arrived at Hertz at the designated time, only to be told that the only vehicle available is a Tahoe for almost double the price. After several minutes of speaking with the customer service rep and the supervisor on duty - and being told the manager is on vacation and there was no one else we could speak with - we were told the problem is the online reservation and we needed to call Hertz customer service. Of course, we called Hertz customer service and spoke with a representative and supervisor, only to be told the problem can only be solved by the local Hertz rental office and that there was literally no one else I could speak with for answers to my concerns. I have reached out to Hertz via email, phone, and messaging, and the response is always the same: Things happen and we can't always have the car available that you reserved. But seriously, why is there some sense that this is an acceptable answer? Did the car breakdown 5 minutes before I arrived at the rental office, so there was no opportunity to even notify me so I could research other options? Of course not, because if that were the case, they would have told me that. Otherwise, there is no reason to not have the car available AND force the new renter to pay a higher price for whatever car is available. If a prior renter kept the car longer than initially planned -- which is the scenario Hertz keeps talking about -- shouldn't that person have to pay the higher price for me to rent whatever more expensive vehicle Hertz does have available? And if the reservation really isn't a reservation, but is more of a statement that they'll try to give us whatever car they conveniently have available when we arrive, shouldn't the reservation confirmation say that? Horrible set up, with customer service that sounds like they have robots repeating the same thing over and over rather than actually trying to make sense of a situation that truly makes no sense.

I did not have the same negative experience as some on here. Service from the 2 ladies at the counter was truly top notch and efficient. Then, they brought us down quickly to our car (in a garage a block away) and inspected with us. To be honest it was a pretty stress free experience for not having a gold aisle option. THEN, 2 days later, we got a call just checking in on the rental to see if everything was fine. I have rented cars over 20 times this year from various companies and locations, not once have I ever received a call to check on my rental and satisfaction. Kudos to this location and staff. Great job.

Check your receipts when you leave! The rep mumbled some stuff to us and then we got charged $54.10 for a fuel refill when we paid for the option of not having to return a full tank. CHECK YOUR RECEIPT!!!

I'm giving 5 stars for Tyarra - she's a gem and as far as car rentals go this one was straightforward and she even expedited getting my car ready. Since she's the only one on staff on Fridays, she had to run back and forth from the office to the lot and was so kind to do so to get me on the road. Tyarra deserves a raise!

If I could give this 0 stars I would. The car I rental was a dirty and raggedy mess. I picked this car up Friday morning went home to pack up the car for ny weekend vacation only to come outside to a tire pressure issue I called to ask for another car but was told nothing they could due to being sold out. The car was dirty not even washed before giving it to me and not to mention the break are dangerous bad. I didn't even keep the car until Monday like I was supposed to because it just a mess. Never again

I am a Presidents Circle Hertz Member who owns his own company and because of that, travels a lot throughout the year. I am a loyal Hertz member and use them exclusively. That being said, half of the time I arrive to this location, they don't have a car available for my reservation. Perfect example; today I went in to pick up my vehicle and I was told I am one of two people waiting on returns as there are no cars on the lot. I asked them to cancel the reservation because I have no time to wait for a car and they told me I have to CALL IN to cancel my reservation when I am standing at a Hertz desk with two Hertz employees in front of me. For a company that just filed for Bankruptcy and is trying to re-brand, they should simply make the effort to have cars available for their loyal customers at the very least. I now drive all the way to the Philadelphia Airport when I need to pick up a rental.

Horrible rental site. I’ve rented from this site for a few years now and the service has gotten really bad. The agents are not professional and just don’t care about “good” customer service. This is my last time renting from the site and hertz all together. I NEVER have any issues with enterprise! I reserved a large SUV(7 passenger) in advance for a road trip. I called a hour before to ask that the car be cleaned and ready for pick up because I needed to get right on the road. It was then that the agent, Braxton told me that they didn’t have any cars in! What? Excuse me? Come again? It’s literally an hour before pick up. I went back and forth with him because someone should have called me instead of me calling them! To make a long story short, I was still charged and immediately reserved a rental through enterprise, picked up within 30 minutes! Hertz please do better and thank you ENTERPRISE for following through with your mission!

Made a reservation months ago, car not ready at appointment time.Sat for an hour while they cleaned cars that nobody was waiting for, I suspect it was because I am white, at least that's the attitudes I got, too bad I am a good tipper. If employees at sales counter and car cleaning spent as much time on customer service as they do in their phones there would be no wait.will I rent from hertz again. I would rather walk

Arrived on time to pick up my rental, which I had reserved in advance. Upon entering the office inside the train station, I along with a few other customers, was informed they had no cars available. I had made my rental weeks in advance, and was left with no options. The agent did mention that if I drove to the Philadelphia Airport, they would honor my rental. Rather than attempt that journey, which would have made me go 45 minutes out of the way, I opted to cancel entirely. I will never rent from this location again! They could have at least made an attempt to contact customers before they arrived, so we could have made other plans. I would give this place 0 stars if possible!
