Getting on port is a major PITA, unless you have a TWIC card...

Great place to load. FYI Port of Wilmington will not allow any minors into the port area. So if you have any kids with you you will be denied entry

If you don't have a twic card make sure you bring 140$ in cash or credi/ debit no EFS for port escort fee. If you need to cash an EFS check before you go in go to the truck stop cash your EFS check then pull up to the gate. Security folks are very nice and respectful they will give you instructions and the rest is easy . After you pay someone will escort you all the way to your puck up and back out the port. Good luck.

Tanker driver perspective: Everyone is pleasant to work with and professional loading. Just make sure you have the PU# ready when you press the gate coms button. When finished loading park in the gravel lot outside the gate and wait 10-30min before entering the door next to flag pole and proceed to drivers lounge (fallow signs) They shout out to you with one of those phones on the table when paperwork is ready. Sometime the gray beard Indian River driver may help you If you have questions? I dunno he seems to dwell often.

They get you in and out pretty quick. There's never much of a wait. The people there are generally pretty nice. The wait to get your paperwork is ridiculous. I was waiting for my paperwork and the guy went to lunch, just leaving me there hanging.
