PSA: COUNT YOUR PRESCRIPTION QUANTITIES!!! My dad routinely gets a prescription of Suboxone every month for the past three years! Today (6/1/24), my dad was given his prescription which is a controlled substance in a plastic bag instead of the usual box packaging. Upon receiving his prescription in the unusual packaging it prompted him to count his prescription and to his surprise it was only 25 instead of the 30 he’s prescribed! This is a serious matter, this could’ve left my father psychically ill once he reached the end of his prescription 5 days early! For those who don’t know, Suboxone is used for individuals recovering from addiction. It takes away the bodies’ craving for the drug that one was previously addicted to. Without weaning yourself off of Suboxone slowly it can cause severe side effects and cravings for the drug that one was addicted to. This could’ve caused a relapse in my father’s journey after being in recovery for 3 years! Controlled substances can be sold for large sums of money on the streets and I can’t help but wonder was it intentional for one of the pharmacy’s staff to steal from my father’s prescription. When my father returned the pharmacist looked at his prescription and stated controlled substances are supposed to be counted twice before being distributed, the pharmacist also stated that the quantity is supposed to be circled with an initial of the person who prepared the prescription. It’s not surprising to see his prescription failed to have the initials. I don’t know if someone working there is struggling with addiction or is selling customers prescriptions. Just think if whomever did this goes on to steal five Suboxones from six customers, they would have a full prescription for themselves. While leaving those who are trying so hard to better themselves physically ill or forced to relapse. This needs to be addressed immediately. I have advised my father to call the police and a report will be done. I hope this is not a routine practice to steal from those who are in recovery and a controlled substance at that! I would suggest for whoever runs this location to check the quantities on all of the prescriptions issued and for every person who fills a prescription at this location to count your medication upon being handed your prescription! I would hate to see people end up relapsing because of a thief! To make this whole situation worse, the tech working in the pharmacy called her mother up to the pharmacy and her mother yelled at my father calling him a “crack head” and saying “it’s not my daughter’s fault your life didn’t work out”. Unacceptable!! I will be calling corporate, every new station, and I will be contacting an attorney. Them attempting to steal from my father was bad enough, but to go as far as calling a family member to attempt to publicly humiliate my father is ludicrous and unacceptable. Oh and my father has never touched “crack” in his life so that is comical, but nevertheless unacceptable.

The New London Rite Aid in Newark, Delaware has always been our number one go-to pharmacy. It’s consistently clean, well stocked and easy to find everything. But above all the associates and pharmacy experts treat us like family every single time. The pharmacists can get very busy and they do a phenomenal job of juggling customers inperson and at the drive—managing it all! We love our Rite Aid!

We use this Rite Aid because it is the closest to our house. That said- we’ve had such positive experiences with everyone in the pharmacy, the pharmacists and their associates, I would be willing to drive further to come here. They answer all my questions patiently, give me heads up if a certain medication is going to be overly expensive, and give me all the information I need to help make decisions for my families health.

I go to this Rite Aid all the time, because it is very convenient for me, it is never crowded, and they have everything. The pharmacy is efficient: they send me text messages to let me know when my refills are ready, and they contact my doctor is I run out, all I have to do is swing by the uncrowded drive through, flash my ID, and grab the meds, stat.Vaccinations are available anytime, just walk in, and apparently free. If you have to wait at all, you can take a few deep breaths and measure your blood pressure at the free kiosk. When I heard that Rite Aid was closing some nearby stores, I was not surprised, because it seems like there are too many of them. But I was happy to see that the store on New London Road in Newark, my fair city, has been spared., for now. I hope lots of people will shop there so that corporate won't shut them down, too, like the one on Main Street.

Discriminatory bathroom practices at this location. They have an area marked for public restroom use and I was standing waiting, thinking someone was using the restroom. An employee walks by and informs me I need a key from the pharmacy counter to use the restroom. I informed her they need to put up a sign to let people know this is the case. She said they are not allowed to do so. I find this discriminating against people like me with Crohn's Disease! Fortunately this was not a moment of severe distress, but forcing people to wait for a restroom simply because they need a key without informing them with signage is potentially devastating for some of their customers. Had I been in a flare and had a crohns issue that could have resulted in defecation in my pants, I would have sued this location and rite aid. There is no reason such a place should do this and claim they can't put up a simple SIGN to inform people. That discriminates against anyone with gastro or otherwise uncontinent issues!

The Rite Aid on New London is an added mile away from the location that’s closer to our home, but I e always preferred this location ever since I lived on UD’s campus back in undergrad. Despite being on New London, it’s in a peaceful area with several nice (and quiet) neighborhoods around. Now about the pharmacy…our first experience was about two years ago when we all needed flu shots (at the time my daughters were 7 and 3).Now, that could’ve been as fun as a root canal, but the pharmacist turned it into a positive experience so much to the point that I actually preface their pediatric visits by reminding them of this story; and the anticipatory tears of upcoming flu shots are no longer. This genuinely kind demeanor also shines in deaf-friendly service, patiently communicating and engaging in a way that’s more ‘sweet neighborhood friend’ than ‘sterile healthcare professional.’If you’re looking for a pharmacy that’s got the ‘rite’ stuff, this Rite Aid’s for you!

This is the pharmacy I use. The drive thru is always so quick and efficient. I also get immunizations here and I have always had a great experience with the pharmacist, and they've also always been great with my autistic brother. The store is also always very neat, clean, and well stocked.

Man I needed Ginko Biloba and Food Lion doesn't carry it. I noticed Rite Aid across the street and they had the Ginko and I got an instant discount of my Ginko. I paid $0! I paid full price for my other item and quickly signed up for the savings program. I went from zero Ginko to Ginko for zero in about 15 min.

We have visited numerous pharmacies in the Newark area over the past 35 years. This is our favorite and the only one we have used for 2+ years now. Friendly, helpful, clean, easy to get to and get in and out, with a good selection of products and great pharmacists and associates
