I am very grateful to have found Loving Touch Animal Clinic. Not only is it close to my home, but the best part are the lovely folks who work there. I have taken 2 of my cats so far, and I am very pleased with the loving care they have given my pets. I highly recommend Loving Touch.

Took my pet here for a basic exam so that she could have her teeth cleaned. First things first - the place smells HORRIBLE - like nobody has done a cleaning in a long time - ammonia and pet hair is a strong smell when it's allowed to fester. I wonder if the staff even notice it anymore - it assaulted me as I walked in the door.
I was tucked away in a room during my first visit and I was waiting about 30 minutes before anyone came to see me. The doctor was knowledgeable and polite, and answered all my questions with patience. There were a couple of times when both the doctor and tech, however, must not have understood a question I asked, because they just stared at me blankly without saying anything (different occasions) or asking for clarification.
My pet did have an ear infection so I opted to bring her back for the 2nd (of 2) visits for them to apply the medication so that I didn't have to.
When I came for the second visit, the receptionist **CHELSEA** YELLED to the back of the office "tech appointment is HHEEERRREEE!!!". I asked after about 5 minutes if we could be put in a room, and CHELSEA essentially said "no, the tech was going to come get (my pet) when they were ready". Then we waited....and waited....for 15 minutes...with my pet confined instead of the relative comfort of a private room...until finally a technician came to the front of house to work on the computer and **CHELSEA** happened to ask her if anyone was going to work on my pet's ears.
Mind you, they only had to apply medication, and it would have taken all of 2 minutes. The technician didn't even know my pet an I were here - guess all of ***CHELSEA'S*** yelling didn't do any good. When the tech said that she was going to come get my pet, I asked CHELSEA if the tech didn't know my cat was here - she shrugged and said "yea I guess she didn't hear me" - seriously?!?!?!?!?!?! No accountability for her lack of professional attitude and the fact that I was kept waiting for 15 minutes, my pet in a kennel and anxious in the front room of a vet clinic because CHELSEA didn't feel like walking 10 feet to where the technicians were standing - I could literally hear them in the next room. There was also nobody else in the vet's office as an active client, so I'm really unsure why we couldn't go to a private room and wait.
I've worked in vet clinics before, also as a receptionist, and I've NEVER exhibited unprofessional behavior like this. This is completely unacceptable and if ****CHELSEA**** were working in my business, she'd definitely be getting a strong reprimand for shouting, and the apparent lack accountability for herself - I'm pretty sure that's going to show up in other areas of her work, as well.

I brought my dog to Loving Touch his whole life in the Newark and his last two appointments were in Elkton. He was a shy dog they would alway meet him where he was at even if it was on the floor with a lot of treats! Last week we had to say goodbye to him and the amount of kindness me and my dog were met with by the staff in the Elkton office was outstanding! They even went as far as sending a sympathy card which meant
soo much to me! I will definitely be bringing any future pets to Loving Touch!

Place has gone seriously downhill. Previous doctors used to be good, but I'm not sure new ones even like dogs. Not friendly at all. Would look elsewhere. Should call themselves "Unloving Touch."

Thank you!!!! Kizmet was over due for his grooming and thankfully the groomer Emily and the entire staff came to the rescue for Kizmet. Kizmet has seizures and most groomers suggest a vet office groomer and after speaking with Dr. Smalls at his last vet visit, we had a plan in place! The office manager was prepared and assured me that if he were to have a seizure they had it covered and the receptionist handled my over bearing dog mom craziness with grace and professionalism. He looks great and was done quickly and home in time for his next round of medication.
Kizmet must feel so much better and he's been zooming around since we got home.

Mommy Cat is doing so well since being treated by Dr Smalls. She is still getting her ear meds but her wound has healed and is nice and dry. Mommy is so special and always a sweet girl. From her days as a mom who was dropped in a feral colony she has always been a good mother to her children. The rescue group who trapped her had her spayed so she no longer has to worry about having babies and the worry of cancer in her female organs. Anyway, a big THANK YOU for restoring her health.

We tried to book an appointment on their website but it was broken. On their website it says they help with pet emergencies but they actually mean they will only help if they have open appointments. We had a pet emergency over the weekend. We got there at 8:03am Monday morning, they open at 8:00am. We were the ONLY people there but were turned away because we didn’t have an appointment and they were “full”. We were referred to the local emergency hospital.
They did not offer to take our information in case of a cancelled appointment, even after finding out we were clients. This would have shown some empathy. This should be common practice. They could have even offered for us to stay in case their next appointment did not show.
If they had no availability shown on the website we would not have made the trip. They should also add to their website that they only take emergency visits based on their schedule and availability. We are very disappointed because we became clients of this vet because of all reviews we saw online.

Way too expensive. The vets are nice enough, but the administrative side of the practice will nickle and dime you at every opportunity. They gave me a $1000 quote for a routine spay of a 50lb dog. Humane Animal Partners did it for $230. They also wanted to charge another vet visit just for a booster, 3 weeks after I had done a full vet appointment, including blood work and fecal tests.
My advice: Use Humane Animal Partners for your regular vet needs. They do everything you would need a vet for, and all of their prices for routine services are listed in black and white on their website. And they're all significantly less expensive than this vet.
