“We had the best experience at the Christiana Hilton with our mom's Celebration of Life luncheon yesterday. Theresa Langan was so helpful when we were planning the event. Her response to our multiple e-mails with questions and requests were very prompt and accommodating. We had about 50 people attend, and we all fit perfectly into the Le Cameleon Ballroom, which was very nice. They provided us with a large screen for our video slideshow, and a Bluetooth speaker for our music, and the gentleman in charge (forget his name, sorry) was very helpful getting us set up. The food was so good and we had several people compliment us on how delicious everything was. We chose the "Delaware Buffet" and there was a large selection of different foods to choose from, as well as delicious desserts. They even made a special dish for our vegetarian cousin, which was also delicious. The wait staff were all so sweet and did such a great job. One thing we really liked about the Hilton was the convenient location and how close it was to I-95. We had several guests who drove long distances, and they appreciated not having to travel too far off of their route to attend the luncheon. Oh, and the cherry on top....the final price including the bar tab, was way less than any other event space we checked out. We were pleasantly surprised when we got the final bill. We can't say enough good things about our experience here and will definitely recommend the Hilton to anyone looking for a place to hold an event in this area. Thanks to Theresa and the rest of the wonderful staff for such a great experience.”

“Candlewood Newark is close to the university and about half an hour drive from downtown Wilmington and 20 minutes drive from Wilmington airport, ILG or about 50 minutes from Philadelphia airport, PHL. Whilst the hotel doesn't have a restaurant, there is plenty of shopping and restaurants and bars within a few minutes drive from the hotel. The hotel is co-located with Red Roof Inn and has plenty of complimentary parking. On the lobby level is a well equipped pantry, a decent sized gym and a free guest laundry. The rooms are nice and big with a full kitchen as well as a nice working area. In the summer there is a nice patio with BBQs outside. Overall a good hotel for exploring the area, and an opportunity to do your own cooking.”

“The staff is really supportive. Especially the main manager and Akanksha who have gone above and beyond to take care of guests needs which is commendable. Breakfast and evening snacks were of different varieties and delicious. Overall a nice hotel to stay.

Food & drinks: Breakfast was good and provides complimentary evening snacks on somedays.”

“Wonderful staff, and comfy rooms! Morgan, and the staff at this location, made sure my meeting went as smooth as possible! Meeting room was set up great, had plenty of refreshments all day long, and lunch was prepared for my attendees early, and just in time for break...Ms. Morgan even came to check on everything after the meeting was over..I will be back at this venue..”

“Ms. Paulette at the front desk is a gem! I visit about once a month and she is always great. She smiles, chats, and makes accommodations for my bum knee. This time she even called once I got settled in to make sure my room was fine! Ty”

“The room was beautiful, it was quite and relaxing. The bed was so soft and there was a cute little couch that was also comfy and nice to relax on. We had our own balcony which was a lil small but still nice. We didn't get a chance to go swimming in the indoor pool, but could see it from our room due to the wall made completely out of windows and it looked so nice, definitely going to have to swim in the heated pool next time!!?”

Rooms: Very clean and comfortable. The AC could have been better.

“The staff is super attentive to guests and property. Safe, SUPER BUDGET FRIENDLY, and with things as hard as they are for good folks out here, that is honorable. Would definitely recommend this hotel to anyone needing a hotel in this area.

Rooms: Clean and honestly all around good energy.

Safety: I have felt very comfortable alone traveling as a lady and that is noteworthy!

Food & drinks: Close to stores and restaurants so food and drinks are plentiful.

“Booked 2 rooms hoping they be close together. No, they were on different floors. There was food under the bed, floor was very sticky (when tried to wipe up all there was was soap residue), remote had no cover to the battery department, there was only one kids channel, and beds were sunken in the middle. Otherwise seen no evidence of rodents, was never bit by anything, it was quiet, linens were fresh and clean, bathroom/mini frig/microwave were clean, television was easy to see and hear. Second room was not bad at all. What first room was lacking this room had and vice versa.Noteworthy details: They do have a security guard on the premises and all vehicles for patriants have to be documented and a tag inside of car or you will be considered trespassing.”
