Mark Bell the sales rep and Ally the business officer person did a very good job, both helping me get the truck I wanted from TX and arranging transaction and DMV-related administration. There were some minor initial glitches with Carmax's software, we thought the truck had been sold out from under us when in fact it was just being held for me... it was labelled as "sold" then later "unavailable". Once it came to the Newark DE branch, everything went smoothly and so far the truck is running quite well. We'll see how the Service department does with it next week on some issues that should be covered under warranty, hopefully things will go well. The 125 point inspection and 3 month/4000 mi warranty give me greater assurance of a sound vehicle, as opposed to buying from a random private seller. If Carmax continues to perform well, I'll recommend the company to others.

I just need someone to answer the phone so I can inquire about a car. Is that too much to ask? I've tried calling the Newark, DE lot several times without success. I live out of state and was interested in car that's in "Coming Soon" status and no one will answer the phone. It's so frustrating.

A friend of mine just bought a car from carmax. And in less than a week check engine light is on . And then the coolant was leaking out . When to get it serviced they checked it out. And then with in two or three days the car wouldn’t start. After a few hours it started up check engine is still on.

Disappointing Experience
I regret to share my disappointing experience with Carmax. My husband and I purchased a vehicle on May 5th, and nearly two months later, I have yet to use it due to ongoing repairs.
From the outset, the purchase process was fraught with challenges. I spent over three hours at the dealership due to repeated errors in the paperwork, which had to be redone four times. This suggested a lack of organizational efficiency and proper training among the staff.
Furthermore, my attempts to obtain updates on the repair progress have been met with inadequate responsiveness from the service department. Requests for contact information for the General Manager were evaded, leaving me feeling unsupported as a customer. Carmax needs to improve their customer service and operational efficiency!

Bought our 3rd car from carmax. Been doing business for years with carmax and have always had a great experience. Found an issues with the tires they give me a set of 4 had an issue with the alignment they reimburse me back. Will buy from car max in the future.

This was our third vehicle we inspected at CarMax. All 3 we had shipped in. All 3 were not cleaned, the interiors were always dirty. There's plenty of time to get it done, but at presentation it's not presentable. Vehicles should always shine inside and out( weather permitting).Makes one wonder why pay a cleaning company onsite for a job they didn't do. We did purchase 2 vehicles from CarMax. The process was smooth. The price you pay is what someone else would pay, no haggling. Their vehicle trade in value is a little low , so do your homework. You may get a couple Bengi's more elsewhere and you may not. The finance rates weren't bad, I did find better by 1 percent. Again, if you can get the best financing rate before you go then you'll have something to compare to. I would have given 5 stars but the cleaning at inspection of vehicle drops it down.

I was able to do almost everything online. I chose to not do the express purchase because I like to test drive first. I was in and out in less than an hour and a half!! Everyone was great!

Had no issues other than the check they wrote when selling my car has not cleared after three days. Besides that it was a good experience. If people think they are not going to detail and flip your car for more money then you clearly do not understand what they do.

Pretty big selection of cars and trucks to choose from. They buy car put.them through a maintenance check and then re sell them. Be sure to look and listen when and if you are test driving. Over a good experience.
