For the past 5 years I’ve been getting taxes done by Ms. Shay & her Taxcellent FS team and every year they never disappoint me! They stay on top of their work constantly and they always make sure you get the best service. Ms. Shay & her team does their best at making sure you get the most back with your tax returns. Not only does she help prepare & file your taxes, but if you owe the IRS, she’s there to help with that too! With her being an Enrolled Agent, she able to negotiate with the IRS for you, unlike a CPA. She’s been doing this for over 10+ years, so why not put your trust in her and have her & her team help you out with your taxes.

While I never write reviews I will say that I did not have the same experience as the other 5 star reviews. Maybe it's a different feeling when you are an actual client but I would beg to differ that as well. I am not a client with this company as the customer service, professionalism and communication for the onboarding phase was well below par. The first encounter I had was a newsletter sent out with a title of "The circus has left town". I thought this was cleaver, however, when you read further, the business owner is basically berating the clients. They called clients procrastinators, placed blame of doing extra work on the clients using excuses, not having appropriate documentation or communicating, discussed inadequacies of people's use for stimulus funds and basically complained about what is basically things a tax business would encounter. I personally do not find this to be good practice or a kind way to speak to your customers or future customers which I was in the beginning phase upon getting this email. This email was strike one for me as the tone was very distasteful. I have now learned that this is the tone of this company. For the primary consultation I had to upload documentation in order for the business to have access to my tax information. I am a single taxpayer not a business. The instructions given for this task were not clear and after getting the clear instructions and following them as stated it still was not enough. The fact that the information was not enough was told to me in the courtesy meeting that would have been the first step to becoming a client and physical interaction with the business as all previous communication was through messages on the portal. The courtesy meeting did not have clear communication of how it would be conducted. I didn't receive any email updates or secure messages in their portal or a phone call. I ended up calling the office to try and have this call that had already been rescheduled 2x. I first contacted in Sept. but was told to wait until after Oct. 15th tax deadline. So the mtgs. were scheduled b/w Nov & early Dec. During the meeting I was told basically how I did things wrong and that because of this I probably would not be able to be a client. The office is paperless and the way I upload to their portal doesn't suffice. When I asked follow-up questions for clarity of how to make things work the responses given were with a hostile tone and in a demeaning manner like I did not have knowledge of how the tax world works. News flash, I am new to tax preparation by other parties, I have always performed myself as I do not have a complicated portfolio and it would be a learning curve but to speak to me as if I am beneath you is unacceptable. In essence, the feel was that this business is overwhelmed and doesn't have the capacity or desire for new customers and if that is truly the case, simply say that respectfully and not give excuses or accuse a customer of lacking abilities. I DO NOT RECOMMEND THIS BUSINESS unless you are desperate but you have a true snapsnot of what it will be like. Tread carefully. ”UPDATE: Her response shows the nastiness of this business. Also I work in IT ma'am so the technical aspect is not the issue.

Sheronda Ervin has done an outstanding job of sorting out major past tax problems, as well my current taxes, doing a fantastic job dealing with the IRS herself, taking lots of stress off us, as well as saving us money and time! Sheronda assisted family members of mine. The IRS was attempting to collect on over $25,000 for a return that was completed incorrectly. Sheronda worked diligently with the clients, and the IRS and got the return corrected and the bill down to under $600. Amazing!

My husband and I are newlyweds and Ms. Sheronda Ervin at TAXcellent Financial Services made filing our taxes for the first time as a married couple a breeze! One word...PHENOMENAL! I've been assisting Ms. Shay with her tax business for a couple years and the service she provides to her clients is outstanding. She is very attentive with each of her clients and she always on top of her game. She's very respectful and she makes sure she works every ones files diligently and in a timely manner.
