Movers showed up late. Tried to overcharge. Broken items. Left trash in and area my home. Smoked weed while working. Yelled at neighbors because they had to move their truck blocking driveway.

I used On-Demand for a local move. A 2 bdrm to a 2 bdrm 3rd floor. The morning of the move I received a email stating that my movers would not get there until around 12 pm instead of the 10 am that we agreed upon. After responding to this email, I received another email shortly after saying that they would be there on time, and they were. The movers were very friendly and for the most part efficient. Got everything loaded on the truck in about 2 hours. The arrived at the new place in a timely manner and immediately started to unload. At one point they stopped for lunch, which was absolutely fine, and started again. Everything was unloaded and they were leaving by 1:30 pm. Although I feel like the amount I paid was a bit inflated, I didn't have to move the stuff to the 3rd floor so it is what it is. However, after they left I noticed some damage to a few of my items. I am guessing that they were picking furniture up by the feet since I had 2 different pieces of furniture were a foot was broken and a dresser drawer totally destroyed. Even with that what upset me the most was the fact that they left a Wawa bag full of trash in the common area of my new community. Nothing like making a good first impression with your neighbors. I did inform them and he asked for pictures but my Son in law was able to fix the broken items so again it is what it is.

On Demand was prompt, showed up right on time almost on the dot. The guys that helped us move were super nice, just a really professional, pleasant group of workers. I would happily recommend them to friends and family and use them again myself. They packed everything up with ease, wrapped all of our furniture, were able to get a really heavy dresser down from our second floor without it even touching a wall. Unpacking was even easier, they asked us where I wanted every piece of furniture, were jovial and just pleasant. I expected there to be hidden fees, nope in fact they finished early so the price was less than what was quoted. Honestly, there are a couple bad reviews here you can completely ignore them, these are the movers you're looking for.Services: Local moving

I posted this on thumbtack but I’m going to google as wellPLEASE READ THIS COMPANIES RESPONSE TO NEGATIVE FEEDBACK!!!!!!It will tell you everything you need to know! These people are slow and do have hidden fees!! Just not worth the headache. The person who runs their website/thumbtack should be replaced immediately! Starting fights with customers instead of just doing a better job is not the way to go!!

I used On Demand Movers based on many of their reviews. My experience was very similar to the negative reviews - confirmed arrival between 9:30 - 10:30 AM. They arrived after 11 AM. Standard 2-bedroom move with the exception of no sofa/loveseat and more boxes. Slowest movers ever! I moved from the 3rd floor to the 2nd floor 47 miles away - told them right up front. Should be no surprise. Lots of complaining upon their arrival and got "lost" for over an hour to my new place! Their lead vehicle arrived in an hour and more than an hour later, the moving van showed up. Boxes delivered upside down and sideways, even when clearly marked FRAGILE. I could hear their hand truck banging on the stairs. I am dreading opening up my dishes and glasses! After they put together my guest bedroom set, I touched the headboard and the BED completely fell apart and crashed to the floor. Mover blamed bed itself, and I told him that it hasn't done that in nine years! Another mover took a look and realized they put the sides on upside down! Imagine if I tried to make up the bed after they had gone!! At the end, the lead driver told me I had additional charges and over time charges. This amounted to more than $300 over the estimate. Unbelievable! No sofa/loveseat to move and hardly any furniture, mostly boxes. Imagine if they had to move the sofa and loveseat? DO NOT USE THESE MOVERS - late (seems to be the norm in their reviews), takes apart furniture that shouldn't be taken apart, damages to your items, and then overcharges from the estimate!!

The On-Demand Moving team is by far one of, maybe the, best moving companies I've used in my lifetime. And I've done a LOT of moves. They brought a team of 5 people, DURING the Covid pandemic, to help my wife and me move from a large 2-bedroom to a new house in the suburbs. We packed up the apartment ourselves, but On-Demand took over from there. Their team was incredibly professional and nice, each team member. They brought more than sufficient backup materials to handle the things that we forgot (last minute glass covering, couch cover, etc). We also have a HUGE 2-piece sectional couch that they very quickly figured out how to maneuver out of the apartment door, something which I was very nervous about prior to the move. They filled the truck with so much stuff and I didn't have to worry about stuff "fitting". When we got to the new house, their team - which already had put in a ton of work on a very hot, very Pandemic day, got to work on the Unpack. I was happy to jump in and help as kind of a "6th man" on the job but mostly I was guiding them about what went where. The day ended at 6pm, and at that time I honestly felt so relieved at what they were able to do. I was so happy. We took a bunch of pictures of the team to kind of remember the day, and I'll never forget the work they did. Hopefully it'll be my wife and my last move for at least two decades! Thank you On-Demand. Hire this moving company, they will do right for you.

Hired ON- DEMAND movers for my 3 bedroom house moves. Movers were professional and responsive. My belongings were handled with care and the move went well. I will definitely recommend their services to everyone who needs a professional mover. Thanks to ONDEMAND for making my move a great one. If I could give more than 5 stars i would give 10.

I do not recommend this company. Please review the message I sent to On-Demand Services after a poor moving experience:Hi Lanre, hope you and your family are wellI have to let you know I was disappointed with the job as a whole on Saturday May 2nd. The service/professionalism I received during my move in 2018 was very different than what happened that day.2018 (reasons I re-hired your team):- Movers on time to originally agreed start time- zero/extremely minimal damage to my belongings- efficient and professional- a wonderful experience overall...2020:- Late. Original start window 930am... called day before to say 10:30/11:30 arrived 11:45-It was clear you were coaching/training the less experienced members which is important and great to build a strong team. However the number of times you repeated the phrases "don't drag it, pick it up" or give other consistent notes made me feel like the team members weren't listening to you or did not care to listen.- You were on the phone for a large portion of the loading in NJ, other team members also took calls during the job. I was paying for your time, and it was given to someone else.- You took really wonderful care to blanket and wrap all my items. But the team members unwrapped things before bringing them up the stairs which lead to a big black scuff on my white dresser, as well as other scratched/nicked furniture. This could have been easily avoided. I suggest that items not be unwrapped until they are placed in their destinations in the future.- Team members bickering or needing to be reminded (more than once or twice) to keep working. Unprofessional.- COVID-19 specific - never wore gloves when clearly stated online all members would.- After the job was complete we found small water bottles left on the lawn in NJ as well as cigarette butts in the house in Philly. Your company has a passion for the environment (so important!) But one of those steps needs to be cleaning up after yourself.- One team member admitted he was late that morning because he was out too late drinking. This is absolutely unacceptable. After that comment was made I was angry, and wanted the job done as fast as possible (hence leaving all boxes and even some furniture planned for higher floors on the first floor). We are nice people, and we enjoyed chatting with all of you during the job. But the team needs to remember we are not your friends, we are your client, paying for your services. Before then I was assuming things were taking a long time due to lack of experience which was frustrating, but acceptable. Now I know it’s because 1/3 of my crew was hungover. This also explains the lateness. Unacceptable.- Lastly, I watched the scrapes on my wall happen, and I also watched/listened to your team member bring you upstairs to show you the marks. I heard you tell him it was okay and not to worry. Later, when I brought it up, that team member made comments as if the mark was not made by them. Making marks and having things happen is okay. Lying about it/ trying to hide it is not. Thank you for offering to come back to fix the marks. In light of COVID-19, I was not comfortable with that option. Having spackle (or other "quick fix" tools) should be readily available along with your other tools to fix any issues as they happen in the future.I hope this feedback will lead to better experiences for future clients. Sadly, I don't think I will be one of them. Based on the above, I overpaid for the services I received. Please review the response from On-Demand Moving:Hi Taylor, Our office have read your complaints and we have taken steps to address the concerns you brought up so that we can better serve our clients in the future. Thank you. I'm posting this online to let people know if you have a bad experience please don't expect any solutions from this company after your service has been paid for. If you have a bad experience just move on.
