Stay away avoid at all cost..company is a scam and will take you for all your money regardless of having a warranty or not… you will constantly return for service work after they touch it and they will find a way to make it your fault.. their mechanics are not good and their manager are rude af … find another dealership unless you want to deal with all the trouble this company will give you.. trust me I’m a local in longneck and not many of us will go to shorts… if it wasn’t for all the tourists they probably would be out of business

This place took advantage of my 75 year old father. They got him for $700. He asked them to help him get his engine running clean. He got it back with a filthy fuel filter, a ripped membrane in the diaphragm, and a steep bill for their unprofessional, faulty work. They changed the float and ripped the diaphragm during install…
We got the boat back two weeks later still broken. At which point I personally opened the engine to find the ripped diaphragm and the filthy fuel filter.
I calmly asked them to refund the price of the carb work and they laughed at me. Even with the clear proof it was a faulty install job.
Use YouTube or go anywhere but Shorts! They are charging insane amounts for basic work that’s done poorly.
My father is a local down there and part of a community of people who will never use this place again.
This is a warning for others to stay away from Shorts Marine Service Center.
I have attached a pic of the brand new ripped membrane.
I will gladly remove this post when Shorts refunds our money.

Shorts Marine has been absolutely fantastic in helping us find the perfect boat for our needs. Hats off to our phenomenal saleman, Paul Kreiser, who went above and beyond to ensure we got the right model and options and that the boat was delivered on time. Thanks to Zach who prepped the boat and to Mark who demoed and delivered the boat. Special thanks also to Jeanny Adams. She has been a total rock star in getting all the paperwork done, the boat scheduled, and additional warranty options presented. Job well done team!

Shorts performed all services requested for spring startup in a timely fashion.
They launched my boat at my marina on April 17th as scheduled.
Minor issue with air in fuel line resolved quickly by their master technician.
Overall I was very pleased with services rendered and would highly recommend shorts marine for boat purchase (I bought mine there), or maintenance services.

I recently purchased a 2023 Scout from Shorts. The team was professional and prompt in our communication. I drove from out of state to take delivery of the vessel and upon arrival everything was in order. The team was ready at 9am for a sea trial in 35 degree weather to ensure everything was in working order. They couldn't have been more accommodating. Overall the process was nice and easy. I would recommend.

Boat owners beware. Chris the service manager and their service department staff, not only stole articles from my vessel, but were unable to adequately repair my boat. The service manager, Chris, is an incompetent thief. I would suggest you take your boat to a perfect stranger who knows nothing about boat repair, you will have better luck getting your boat back in satisfactory condition that way. Worst experience in my life for boat service and repair. Happy Thanksgiving.

.....boaters beware......dropped off a perfectly running boat to short's marine at the end of 2022 season for winterization, indoor storage, 2023 season start-up with river run....i got the boat back 5/15/23 with all the oil in the engine pan.....they didn't repair the boat until 9/15/23....four months later/ missed total boating season for 2023....they also hit me with a rediculous bill and stole my bushnell spot light from the boat.......criminal organization in my opinion......service manager chris is a dishonest, circus clown......

Worst experience ever having our boat serviced.....we paid to have the boat winterized and stored for the offseason prep for this season including river runwhat did we get, a boat returned to us with all of the oil in the engine pan , we received a broken boat and they had us out of the water for the entire season with a huge bill to pay plus a terrible customer service no one picking up the phone or returning calls they had the boat for 5 months ......boaters, run, don't walk from short's marine.

We were told wrong information about hours for trailer storage access. Showed up to get our trailer before a serious storm and the gate was locked. They did come out after begging for help only to yell at us. They had no idea our trailer was there or where it was. No records in their system. We were told they didn't have it, we didn't store it there then we didn't pay a bill and then told us it had been moved to another lot. If we hadn't saved a photo of the trailer tag we would have never gotten our trailer. We were treated like absolute criminals. They are the ones who had no clue where our trailer was. Marinas are on every corner. I'm not risking them losing our boat next time around. Horrendous communication and customer service.

I have to echo what many others have said. The buying process was great, (hence the 2-star and not 1-star) but the customer service is literally the worst I have ever experienced. They don't respond to e-mails, are rude on the phone, do not care about your business. Read the reviews before you buy here. Was planning on using them for winterization, storage, motor work etc. every year, they've lost my business for life.Update: Here's a great example of how to make a customer feel like they don't matter: You have all of my information, but you don't call me after a 2-star review. You make it seem like you care by putting the responsibility on me to call you. No thanks. I have honestly wasted enough of my time trying to deal with Short's. I rarely leave reviews, and all the ones I have left before are 5-star. I waited months to post this because I wanted to make sure that's how I really felt. No need to call me, I have already found another marina to give my business to. Just look up our information for who sold us the boat. That's the person who lost you my business.
