Ponder no longer thoughts of boring concrete & buildings for this park shifts you to a different stratosphere. The way you’re completely removed from civilization truly shows you what it’s like to be one with nature. I want to thank you Valley Garden Park for allowing me to get down to your level and be one with the squirrels, water, and vegetation. I am forever changed.

If you live in northern New Castle County, you must have heard of Valley Garden! Beautiful place to come to enjoy, have a picnic, or go for a real good hike through the wilderness all the way to the Hoopes Reservoir!

The beauty of Valley Garden is the absence of made-made distractions. It is quiet, clean, and tranquil. Of course non of this would exist if it were not for the capable hands of Jim the grounds keeper. He’s not only through in his job, but personable as well, so Jim gets 5 stars also

Great place to take a walk! Took my 4 year old and we almost went all the way to Far Meadow and back and it wasn't too much for him. Beautiful little stream right down the middle and there were still some flowers blooming!

I've only been here in the summer but it is a really amazing park. A visit on a weekday is pure bliss. The signs of "no snowmobiles" make you imagine the rolling snow covered hills in the winters. I'll find out!

Valley Garden Park is one of those not so famous places. But, I guess it does have a lot of competition with showstoppers like Longwood Gardens, Wintertur, Hagley Museum, and Nemours Estate in the area. (All a part of the duPont family legacy.) The white and pink flowering trees as you stroll through the paved loop trail are just gorgeous in April. One thing Valley Garden Park has going for it is it’s variety of trees. If you take 30 minutes to walk the 1.3 mile paved trail, you will see all types both big and small. Most of the people that I passed on the trail were locals just getting out for a walk. I was the only one with a camera. So, I’m assuming I was the only tourists. This little park checks most of the boxes for a great adventure…trees, flowers, paved trails, water, and open fields. What’s not to like!

What a quiet, little oasis. A little off the beaten path, but close enough to the city to make you feel like you're in your own backyard. I thought I'd pop in for a nice walk since the weather was nice and it was a great way to reset! The park consists of many walking trails even hiking trails if you're feeling adventurous. It's clean and a great place to picnic or walk your dog. There are flowering trees and a vast array of daffodils throughout. I even found a man painting, easel and all! Very peaceful...a walk here will definitely calm your nerves after a long day!

It's beautiful and relaxing. I love the mature trees and plantings. The circular paved path follows the creek. Springtime brings fields of daffodils. With the stream and mature trees, it provides a pleasant walk in the hot weather.
