this place is a total scam. i gave them a prom dress that costed 600 dollars and another dress that was 90 bucks and they gave me 9 bucks?? i wasn’t expecting much but the fact i didn’t even pass double digits for a dress like that is insane honestly.

Came in today to bring in a bunch of clothes that I’m not using anymore. Was told they only wanted 3 pieces out of the entire bin. When I looked none of them were the premium denim I brought in. The three pieces were a top shop top NWT, a pair of my husbands brand new Lee jeans and a lucky brand NWT shirt. For those three pieces they wanted to give me $5. What a joke. When I asked why they didn’t want the premium denim or Armani women’s dress I was told they were washed too many times. I laughed because said denim and dress are brand new. The denim alone costs between $150- $178 a pair. If said employees were educated on brands they would know that those are the washes these brands offer. Joes jeans, DL1961, and AG all offer different washes that have worn in looks. One was even super dark and a semi wide retro which is very trendy right now. Too bad for you because I can sell them on Poshmark or Mercari for so much but was choosing to bring them to you as a convenience so I didn’t have the hassle. No worries happy to make someone’s day online with a great pair of jeans at a great price. With so much competition and this type of business practice I’m not sure how this store stays in business. Things are not cheap in there. MK Bags for $90 and Nike shoes for over $100. I’ll buy new thanks.

I've taken things in there several times nice things that they claim they buy and they didn't even go through everything I brought in. They don't take almost anything for bigger girls even with the tag still on it. They didn't even go through the bag I brought in I waited for hours. And left with 5 dollars. The cashier that helped me she wore glasses she's the only reason they got a star.

It was my first time here in about 14 years. Had a gift card for the place, but like so many used clothes places, things seemed expensive and money doesn't go far. Was able to pick out some nice things for my daughter.

I absolutely love this Plato’s Closet. I sell my stuff here all the time- they are super friendly and they always take so much of my stuff! They have so many awesome name brands for so cheap! I found a pair of Uggs with TAGS still on it. I will always come back here!!

I took a bin full of clothes here. They returned every single item saying it was all “older than 18 months.” Not true for several times that I knew of, but whatever, I take the same exact bin to Uptown Cheapskate- another clothing buyer with same brand focus and audience- I get $52 for it. Just wanted to share for prospective sellers. I don’t really believe they looked through my box very thoroughly. If you aren’t accepting most items/too stocked to bother, say that up front- don’t waste sellers time.

So overpriced it's crazy. And dresses are non refundable for some reason. Staff was loudly talking at the register about (what sounded like) how much money they had made so far that day which seemed... not smart. Unless they want to get robbed.

I used to shop here, and then we moved. Came back to see friends in the area and stopped in. I was disappointed with the condition of the store. Clothes were not very organized and very messy. Didn't feel clean at all. Sad it went downhill.

this place literally sucks ass they said the criteria to drop off clothes is "we take anything bought within the last 18 months". Brought in almost 40 items all bought within the last seven months most still had tags. Finished my order in less than 10 minutes. They took 13 items and gave me SEVENTEEN DOLLARS that's less then 75 cents an item. Also didn't even look through the bags, skimmed the top and that's it. all the clothes where in the exact same place as when i dropped them off, place is run by a bunch of teenagers with bad fashion sense, attitudes and one with horrible B.O that made the whole front stink

I really wanted to love this Plato's and there are great finds to be found, but after my experience today I'll never shop there again. I bought 10 items last night and specifically asked about the return policy so I could do a proper try on at home. The young woman behind the counter told me clearance couldn't be returned but for everything else, there was a 7 day return policy. She even reattached a tag to one of the dresses that was missing one specifically so that it would be returnable. When I went to return them today (with the SAME person who cashed me out last night), suddenly "dresses are not returnable." They were full price (not clearance) and had been purchased less than 24 hours ago. I even told her I was willing to exchange because I was going to do more shopping and would've wound up spending more than I even exchanged for. No exceptions. She's not to blame for the return policy but the fact that she even reattached the tag for me and did not mention they wouldn't be returnable was dishonest and misleading; bottom line: I don't feel comfortable shopping there anymore. I went to Burlington down the road afterward and found better priced items for brand new--highly recommend!
