Car Rental in Dover, DE

“After having a TERRIBLE experience at the Middletown, DE location and almost being in tears because I wasn’t sure how we were gonna go on vacation due to the other location not being able to fulfill my reservation I went on a whim and a prayer to the Dover, DE location. I never leave reviews but I feel like this location deserves the biggest shout out. My daily driver is a track pack mustang stick shift which is not Poconos friendly hints why I reserved a SUV. Upon entering everyone at this location was so inviting and friendly and accommodating. Mind you I’m almost in tears because of my experience at the other location and in fear the same thing is about to happen!! The gentlemen who took care of me was nothing but stellar!!! He said I will make sure you leave with a SUV! He was on top of it he was apologizing for the other location he was doing everything in his power to make it right! He made sure myself and my son were getting to the poconos safely and because of him we were able to go!!!! You will never know the impact you made that day! And I really hope you are reading this! This is the way you buy customers for life! You did what it takes! Thank you for the legendary experience!”

“We needed a last minute car rental at JFK airport. There were several car rental places, however the first couple we went to did not have any cars available. We tried our luck at Avis and not only did they have a vehicle available, we were in and out within 10 minutes!!! Amazing!!! We also needed a toddler car seat, which wasn’t an issue and lastly they accommodated our drop off location in Dover, Delaware.

The car had stains here and there but was clean and ran good. The price was mid range but less than $200 for a day.

Will book AVIS in the future.”

“It was okay the customer service could have been a little bit better. I need to inform you of a 250 the $300 additional deposit that you have to leave even though they claim it's on the website they need to do that a little bit more so this way you know exactly what you getting into besides that it was a right”

“I was skeptical of renting from this location because of all the bad reviews. But, at this point, I honestly think that the majority of bad reviews stem from people either not reading the fine print, or just being rude to the staff. My experience was great. I showed up shortly before my pick-up time and a nice clean car with a full tank of gas was ready to go. I returned the car on time, clean with a full of gas and was charged the exact amount of my reservation. Crazy how when you follow the rules, things tend to go as expected... The staff was GREAT. This is a busy location and the staff busts their behinds to make sure everybody is taken care of. Just a reminder - A little patience and understanding go a long way. Be kind.”

“I shopped around and Budget offered the best pricing with 80 free miles. I saved even more on a one way trip. The only issus I have is that they accidentally took the $150.00 deposit out of my bank 3 days AFTER my move & the truck was back on the lot?! Ridiculous...”
