They're supposed to be open until 9 but they were closed at 7:30. They're supposed to open at 7. It is after 9 and they're still closed. Both times, others besides me were pulling on the door to get in. SMH

I was so sad to see the previous owners retired and it was closed last year. This is a Dewey staple and perfect spot for coffee and picking up items you may forgot to pack. The girl working greated us and was super friendly! Thanks for reopening and keeping the name!! Dewey is a community that loves to stick together.

Back in July 2018 I was on vacation with my parents in Dewey Beach. Right down Read Avenue, the street The Surf Club Hotel was on, was The Little Store at the end of the block. When we needed some items real quick it was very handy to have nearby and the staff was very friendly too. Very convenient!

I’m going to assume it’s a great store. It’s close for the whole year though. :(

The Little Store is awesome! It's a classic Dewey shop and a must-visit for anyone passing through. Great coffee, all your basic grocery needs, and friendly faces.

What an interesting experience. I walked in to purchase some sunscreen, and was greeted politely and the woman at the desk made conversation with me while I looked for a good sunscreen for a hot day. I was with 2 other friends, who entered the store after me. I noticed that when my first companion entered the store, he wasnt greeted, and was checked out SWIFTLY and without much dialogue. Weird. Completely different than how I was treated . I leave the store and walk to my car out front, where I start applying sunscreen. My second compion then enters the store. He comes out saying that one of the women inside wouldn't allow him to change in the store. "Ok" I thought..... I mean if you don't buy something, they don't need to allow you to use their facilities. He proceeds to walk just around the corner of the store and change. Mind you... By change I mean nothing more than his shorts. No underwear.... No shirt change.... No nudity what-so-ever. But it wouldn't matter anyway.... He never had the chance to do anything. The woman in the store PROMPTLY comes out and begins shouting at him to get off of her property. She gets close to him shouting at him, and as he kind of backed away SHE GRABS HIM in a kind of bear hug type move and starts pulling him back toward the front. I could not believe what I was witnessing. The manner of which she handled an absolutely ridiculous. I was treated with kindness and respect.... I felt welcomed and like if I had asked to change into seim shorts in the rest room.... It would've been fine. My friend received the EXACT opposite treatment. He requested to purchase something in order to use the restroom.... But was told he could not. He should not have gone to the side of the store to change.... But be honest folks..... Does one deserve to be assaulted for that ? Nope. I'm not one to make inferences, but I'll tell you what the facts are. I'm a Maryland-born, Irish decended, white American boy through and through. My friend who entered the store second is a Mexican American. My friend who entered the store 3rd is African-American. The progression of how we were each treated tells no lies. Change your shorts before coming to The Little Store if you're not my shade or lighter. I personally will not ever support this business again. Racism can not be tolerated in our country.

The center of the Dewey Universe. Literally thousands of products. Friendly helpful staff. Prices competitive with big chain stores. Mac machine. You'll spend more on gas (and nerve ends), driving elsewhere. Frequented by locals, lifeguards, and those in the know.

Super convenient when staying at Dewey Beach. It's has milk, coffee and lots of stuff you need but don't want to run out to a bigger store up Route 1, especially when the traffic is heavy. It's in walking distance From most parts of Dewey, can be biked to in minutes, and even has a few dedicated parking spaces.

A very small but necessary place in Dewey, which lacks a Walgreens, Wawa, or grocery store. Prices are high, but you are paying for convenience. If I had a choice I would shop elsewhere but sometimes it's worth the costs to not have to drive out to Rehoboth or Ocean View.
