Kenton designed and installed our custom kitchen cabinets and bathroom vanities. They did a terrific job, not only in the craftsmanship of their building and installation, but perhaps even more important Ethan was patient and gracious in making sure my wife got the exact design she wanted. Our dining room table, chairs and corner cabinet from KCS are beautiful and are immaculately crafted from the finest quality woods to the final finishing. Kenton Chair Shop is a business that I keep going back to again and again for the beautifully crafted furniture. I’ve collaborated with Ethan on 5 custom projects: kitchen cabinets, dining room table, living room built-ins, custom closet, and bathroom vanities. They do it all and they do it well. With each project, Ethan made the design process easy to tackle. The install crew was professional and each project was completed and installed to my satisfaction. If you’re looking for a business that values customer service and produces high quality furniture at a fair price, you’ve found that combination in Kenton Chair. I worked with Ethan in creating a custom built-in shelving piece for my living room. During the design process, Ethan was a good collaborator. He offered suggestions to assist me during the design process, but he was also open to ideas that I proposed. He was responsive whether in person, by email or phone. This place makes excellent furniture. I have bought two large tables from them over a 23 year period. They are nice to deal with. The quality is high. For what you get the prices are low. And quality has gone up from an already high level, in the 23 years since I bought the first table. I would recommend them to any of my friends.

33 years ago, yes, 33 years ago we moved to Washington DC on a temporary assignment and were told by Dover DE friends about the quality of workmanship done by the Kenton Chair Shop. We drove over to Kenton DE and visited the Kenton Chair Shop. We ordered a set of 6 oak Windsor Chairs to match a pestle dinning table we had. Yes, 33 years later we are still using those chairs. They are as good as new! They are still solid, stable chairs, better built then any other piece of furniture we have ever owned. They have stood up to the abuse of being sat in every night for 33 years, kicked and banged around by our now grown children, and being moved back and forth across the country. They have even held up to the changing environment of being moved to the desert southwest (where the humidity is usually less than 15%) and back to the southern US where the humidity stands from 60-90%. without pulling loose at the joints. Amazing. I suspect that this quality is still practiced at Kenton Chair Shop.

We have had several pieces of furniture made by them, eg, a platform rocker, a children's table and chairs, a sideboard, and tall island chairs. They are all exquisite workmanship, and quality wood (real wood, not MDF under laminate) the finish on the children's table took whatever my rambunctious toddler at the time could do to it. Their prices are better than the big furniture stores, with MUCH better quality. My sister in law also got a dining room table and chairs there and is very happy with them.
