we have been dining at George's for many years but always avoided the fried entrees for health reasons. We recently broke that rule and tried the fried oyster and fried shrimp baskets. We were very disappointed with both dishes. Not sure if these were fresh or frozen due to lack of taste and the shrimp had a weird texture. Both entrees over coated with breading. They also were out of tartar sauce. It won't keep us from returning, we just won't order those dishes. The fries were soggy and I see another review mentioned this. Perhaps the staff should be tracking the Yelp reviews. Their oyster stew and soups are excellent. Melissa, one of the wait staff, is excellent and entertaining.

No frills seafood market and restaurant with very high quality, fresh, raw fish (sushi grade) and shellfish. We've made sushi at home using their tuna and salmon multiple times and it's always been wonderful. The food is also excellent! There's a very impressive oyster selection and the shuckers are super knowledgeable and are willing to talk through the "shuckers dozen" with guests. We love to order the mussels as well. Good wine (+ prosecco!) and beer selection. A must visit!!

It was not a good experience I asked for a bottle of water, they had knower, I asked for club soda they didn't have any. We ordered our meal and I ordered soup and asked for it to be brought before the meal. They brought my meal and the soup at the same time. What is it? The worst thing is they didn't bring my wife's food for 20 minutes. They also have a very limited menu now if you don't want sandwiches this is not the place for you are used to be one of our favorite places to go. not anymore.

Great for fresh seafood! Wasabi ginger marinade is awesome. Only wish it was more handicap accessible.

Great raw oysters, scallops ceviche, calamari to doe for, little necks clams so tender , lovely oyster chowder, and fish tacos and Scottish salmon BLT to finish. Great service from Melissa with excellent recommendations . Don't pass it up!

Unfortunately, they didn't meet my expectation. The crab cream soup was good. There were enough crabs. Oysters were fresh. Fries with crab and white sauce were a bit disappointing. Fries were soggy. Scallop risslotto was mediocre but the portion was generous. Maybe I can try their market next time but I am not sure about the restaurant.

We buy our seafood here often and are very happy to have a market like this in town. Went for dinner a couple of weeks ago. Brother-in-law was in town visiting and craving seafood because he lives in Minnesota. We shared the clam appetizer. Clams were yummy but broth was pretty salty. I had fried oysters- heavily breaded making it taste more like fried breading than oysters. He had crab cakes and said they were bland. Love the market and the great service we get there. I'll stick to the market rather than the restaurant.

Stopped in with my family in a group of six plus three little ones and got lucky getting the only big table in the joint. Good fried fish sandwiches and my wife and daughter really liked their tuna special. Took awhile to get the food but the kids liked looking at the offerings in the seafood case and coloring. Went back later and bought some fresh salmon to take home and cook and it was quite good. Also the raw oysters were very fresh.

The lobster rolls have changed. Plus, they are $32. Gone are the days of an over-flowing bun, as seen in the other pictures. It's now a shredded mess with 20 fries straight from the Cisco bag. This has been my go-to for 5+ years and we are sad at its current state. I guess 100% profit margin on one item is more important now.

Really good food. We go for lobster rolls and oysters. Authentic quality Lobster and shellfish isn't inexpensive. Its incredibly pricey this year--- rest assured that GEORGE and his Sons are quite skilled at preparation. The lobster roll is worth thirty bucks. 4.5+ stars, the food doesn't disappoint.

Being local we have come here often, both eating in and takeout. Last night's experience was awful. The delicious mussels were the only redeeming feature. The calamari were way too salty, and I am a salt lover. We often get lobster rolls and my wife's roll was very very skimpy with the lobster. When we were served dinner one of the 4 entrees was missing (they forgot my wife's coleslaw as well). We had to ask twice for it (fish tacos) and it wasn't served until everyone else was finished eating and we ended up having it boxed untouched to go. The service was terrible. Not attentive at all and no apologies at all for the late entree. My wife and her friend had sauvignon blanc and when they ordered a second round the waiter took their glasses and refilled them (not sure if they each got the same glass back, think so based on the lipstick) with chardonnay! They didn't even complain since things were already going downhill. I ordered a second beer and again he said that they were out of glasses and took and refilled my glass! When the bill came we asked to split the bill in half with me paying cash and my friend credit (with the 3.5% surcharge). When he came back with the receipt he didn't bring me any change and we never saw him again. This place was always crowded and this Sat. night there were many open tables. I suspect that they are losing clientele based on our poor experience. There are too many dining options in the area to justify returning for such poor service and mediocre food.

Always fresh and oyster samplers are my favorite. Hunter always greet everyone with smile and shucking the oysters with ease. Love their soups too
