The filing fee was way too high. I had explained to the preparer that I am a widow and just don't make a lot of money, at the beginning of the appointment. For the last three years of filing at H + R Block I had only paid a reasonable fee of $140.00 for a simple, personal return. This guy must have thought I had much more money. At the end of the appointment he quoted me $225.00. He would only drop the price $ 25.00. This looks to me like greed and a lot of disinterest in my situation. I will not be back to H + R Block, and I will tell anyone who asks about this outrageous, exhorbitant fee for filing a simple, personal income tax return. There should be some compassion and some financial breaks for senior widows like myself who are just trying to survive. There were none. Thank you.
