This review is well deserved!
I had an oil leak in June 2023.
I initially went to Rick's in Marcus Hook, which was the 1st place to waste my time & money.
I had a severe oil leak and he was the ONLY business willing to fix it after properly diagnosing the problem FOR FREE.
They were finished in less than a full business week, which as an independent contractor was appreciated.
I was happy to be done with that issue, just to be informed I now had transmission fluid leaking, and he suspected it was from the transfer case. He referred me to AAMCO in Claymont, which was a complete waste of my time (no fault of Daves), I took it to West Chester Transmissions ( another complete waste); both of whom I'm convinced didn't bother to do any kind of diagnosis, just gave me a quote for a new CVT (continuously variable transmission).
So instead of wasting any more time and missing money, I concluded I'd just catch the leaks, and maintain my transmission until I could afford to get it to a Nissan dealer.
Fast forward about 8 mths later; finally take it to a Nissan dealer in Concordville and paid for a dye test which showed that the transmission fluid was leaking from my right axle.
I Google once leaving Nissan, about how something like this could happen, and it mentioned having the axle changed or installed improperly could cause the seal to break, leading to leaks and that seals should be replaced whenever an axle on a Pathfinder is replaced.
I recalled that same axle was replaced when I got my oil leak fixed, and that fluid wasn't leaking until after my axle was repaired, so contacting Dave's was my priority.
I need to state ; I don't believe they installed my axle improperly, but I do believe my seal was broken when it was replaced with a new axle, as I read seals can easily break anytime the axle is changed.
He told me to come in that next week with my receipt and he'd look into it.
Well to not make this review any longer, in good faith, & although we didn't agree on the cause of the leak, he STILL repaired my seal (FREE OF CHARGE) and fluid hasn't leaked so far (this was just finished May 22, 2024).
As a female, going to a mechanic always gives me a level of anxiety as I prepare to be quoted for things I don't currently need, being gaslighted and plain overcharged for services, NONE of which I experienced at Dave's. He fixes what needs to be fixed, can show u the old parts and what was causing the issue in a way anyone can understand, and doesn't overcharge for services rendered; this is how you earn customers trust; by being honest, fair and trustworthy. Forever grateful for all the other shops that led me here.

I was visiting from the Chicago area and started having car trouble with a 13 hour trip home in a few days. Dave got my car in, diagnosed several things going wrong all at once. He took the time to explain it to me along with whats to come for my aging car. The cost was more than fair. His team was able to get me home without any trouble. So grateful. Thank you!

I got water pump n alternator done Dave is the best I have never in my life met a mechanic like him he is great fare prices gets the job done in great timing n does the job right definitely my go to mechanic for now on I could go on n on about this place but I’ll end at this very trustworthy

I came across Dave's auto through a mutual friend. I couldn't be happier with the outcome of the repair. My car was on its last leg and no other means of transportation. He worked around my availability. Him & his staff got my car done asap I dropped it off the night before & picked it up the next day. I much rather go to someone that will be honest with me and not break my pocket over "add ons". I just need what's broken fixed. It may take some time patience & communication. But its worth it. Had my truck over 3 weeks. Never got an honest answer on time frame. Was told on a Monday my truck would be ready in an hour. Was at over 2100 at this point. Don't hear back from Dave until Wednesday afternoon. When he says truck is ready $2650. Did an additional 650 without ever notifying me. As dishonest as they come.Service: Brakes

This review is overdue- I came to Dave by chance needing some serious work on my car back in May, he was really straightforward about the repairs, stuck to his word about what was needed and managed all expectations by realistically projecting additional expenses that might be incurred, was very personable while explaining things to me, and gave me a great price on all the work. He really knew what he was talking about and what to do and how to organize the work. And besides that he just is a really cool guy and easy to work with.
