Yoga District is a wonderful community. I love that the org is a nonprofit that supports diverse individuals access to yoga and also provides training for teachers as well. Really so grateful for all the unique, intentional classes & inspirational instructors. Many of the classes I've taken have been good for both the mind & the body, which I love. Can't recommend enough!! The yin classes are top tier.

This was a terrible experience I was downstairs waiting to get access to do my first class for 20 minutes. I called two numbers on the website and the lady told me that she was going to call me back with codes. She gave me seven different combinations and none of them work then she said she was going to call me back. I never received a callback. What Kind of business does this?

Best yoga studio I've been to. The studio is kept very clean and has a nice vibe (some plants, exposed brick, natural light). At 14th st, the top floor is structured where the class is halved and the instructor is in the middle. I love this so it never feels like you are too far away to see or hear the instructor. Additionally, there are cubbies to keep your stuff and mat storage if you wanted to leave it there. Usually the classes have the instructor then a person doing a demo which is nice because the instructors can walk around and help people individually. I've found all the instructors here to be especially good and knowledgeable, especially Andrea, Jenna, and Agnes. The classes here are welcoming for all levels and there is a very inclusive environment. But if you want to challenge yourself, the level 2s, 3s, and rocket will definitely push even the most experienced yogi. I honestly love coming here and recommend it to everyone interested in yoga!!

Yoga District is a studio created and built by the community for the community. I stumbled upon their Bloomingdale location during my first pregnancy as I was in search of a Prenatal Yoga class back in 2014. Since then I have taken classes with so many wonderful teachers who are there to share their practice and help students grow in their journey. Yoga District has wonderful internship opportunities, wonderful teachers and a variety of teachers and each studio has its own character, vibe, and energy. I could not express more how the founder Jasmine has put so much energy, time, and dedication into building a practice space that is welcoming, accepting, and able to meet people wherever they are on their yoga journey.

Fraudulent and misleading billing practices. Zero customer service. I purchased a one month trial membership. The website clearly states "Cancel anytime in the first month with at least two weeks' notice, or cancel anytime thereafter with one month's notice. Autorenews for $97 after the first month. Please email
[email protected] anytime to cancel." I emailed the stated email address to cancel with at least two weeks' notice. No response. I emailed two more times asking for confirmation of email. I was then billed for a monthly membership. I have emailed them daily since then - four times so far - with no response. After they fraudulently billed me for a monthly membership, I added the three other email addresses included in their communications. No response from anyone.

Yoga District has several teachers. I found a few whose teaching resonates with me (like Andrew, Camryn, and Kelsey) and just feel at home in these studios. It's a non-profit. So, no one is trying to sell you shirts or yoga mats at the door. It's more yoga, meditation, and community. They've got teachers who specialize in various styles of yoga like Ashtanga, Vinyasa, Power, etc. So, I'd recommend trying different teachers and different class types to see which resonates with you!

Yoga District is an amazing organization! I can truly say it's changed my life. I've been practicing with Yoga District for several years now and am starting to volunteer with them. I'm deeply grateful to Yoga District for providing certain classes and instructors that helped me get back into yoga after spine surgery and start to heal from chronic pain and personal trauma. Their affordable, online classes have also been lifeline during the covid-19 crisis. Yoga District's mission is to make yoga accessible to all bodies, financially affordable for more people, and more trauma sensitive. You honestly cannot beat their prices at any other studio in the DC area. You might think that could compromise the quality of classes, but I've honestly encountered the best instructors at Yoga District, and I've tried out a lot of other studios. There is a wide variety of classes, from restorative/yin/gentle to alignment focused to vinyasa flow classes inspired by Ashtanga, Power, Dharma and other traditions. Just check out the class descriptions and especially the teacher bios to get a sense of what to expect and you can definitely find something for you. The studios and many of the instructors also make an effort to incorporate other elements of yoga into classes, and not focus 100% on "yoga as exercise" while ignoring the rest. Many teachers will include brief meditations or breathing exercises, and occasionally even a little bit of yoga philosophy, so as to honor the roots of yoga. I can't recommend Yoga District enough.
