It’s awesome. Been shopping here for over a decade and have never had a bad bottle. Helpful staff and great tastings. Nice descriptions for every bottle.

Excellent selection backed up by knowledgeable and professional staff. Their weekly tastings are informative and no pressure to buy, tho we usually do!

I used to go and appreciate their wine, but their post COVID hours make no sense. They stopped sending announcements, so I have no idea about any of their current offerings. Hopefully this will chance

Nice selection of wines, but terrible customer service. Staff were rude and dismissive; I don’t understand why when you want to support a local business the experience can be made so unpleasant! If you can, shop at Chain Bridge Cellars, Domestique, or literally anywhere else.

Best wine shop in dc for value, service, and selection. Mostly stock French, German, Austrian, and Italian regions. Their wine club is an amazing deal too!

One of the best wine stores in DC. And when a COVID isn't going on, one of the beer free tastings (every Saturday). By far the best selection of Austrian whites in the area (and probably the entire east coast). Primarily old world selection. Great Burgundy and Rhône wines at all price points from $15 to $100+. Their monthly wine club is great. $30 for 2 bottles and then you get 15% off all orders. We love their monthly selection. They also do curbside pick up (thanks)!

The wines they carry are exactly what I miss about living in Europe: having access to affordable, estate grown, small batch wines that are full of character and teach you about where they're from

Great selection ( especially) of European wines. Very helpful staff - will always be able to recommend something in the price range that I request.Very good prices - and don't forget the case discount.

I don't like to buy my wine or liquor anywhere else if I can help it. I LOVE the selection here, and don't ever worry that I will like the wine I purchase. I always do. That being said, when I am after something specific, most of the employees are INCREDIBLY kind and helpful. There are a few people in particular who have shown me so much kind attention and have educated me on wine and rums. One day I realized they carried liquors that I had searched just about every shop in DC and Northern VA for - and to think, they were within walking distance from me all along! I love to go to the wine tastings on Saturdays and buy a few interesting bottles. I am very grateful to have this store in my neighborhood.

One of my favorite shops for Burgundy.

This is the best wine merchant in the city, without a doubt, and in the country, if I were to guess. If you are looking for small-producer, carefully curated, unknown-to-you, the-best-you’ve-ever-had wines from the most terroir-driven regions in the world (emphasis on Bourgogne and the full length of the Loire), this store is your oasis in an industrial style-driven desert. This store imports wines from vignerons producing quantities smaller than any of the large chains could ever contemplate, and at the highest and most personally-cared for quality of wine making. Beats the merchant I had when living in Paris. Peter, Warren, Ed and the rest of the team will find you a wine to tickle your fancy at any price point. We are so lucky to have Weygandt Wines in our neighborhood.

Love this place! Really don't understand the few negative reviews. Service was superb. I was immediately greeted and asked if I needed help and then wasn't pestered at all while I had time to take everything in. Price point ranges from $12 to way more than $100, with plenty of options in the sub $25 range. Lots to choose from in terms of French, Austrian, German, Spanish, and Italian wine. Practically nothing from the US but that makes sense since Weygandt is an importer. Will definitely go back!

I've been shopping here for a few years as my knowledge about wine has increased. What you should know is Weygandt has a focused selection of wines that Peter Weygandt imports and distributes nationally. I gather that is the main business but his selections are available in the wine store and he can occasionally be found here at the Saturday tastings. These are small family-owned wineries with relatively small production, with a deep selection of wines from Loire, Beaujolais, Burgundy, Rhone, Jura and Languedoc. They are sustainably farmed, organic, or biodynamic. The selection of wines can be intimidating at first but come armed with a price point and some idea of a wine you've liked in the past. Engage a clerk (I've uniformly found them helpful). Ask for their recommendations. Now my take: they are excellent for Loire reds and whites (Cabernet franc and Chenin Blanc like Plouzeau, Amirault and many others, Sancerre and Pinot Noir), Beaujolais (great value) and little known Burgundy producers (at higher price points but decent entry level village wines). Don't ignore the Southern French wines, (especially domain Gauby and Clos Marie in Languedoc), and their CDP Rhone if you want a bigger wine and can spend more. They also have a good selection of Northern Rhone (Yann Chave is a fave of mine). For whites, the Austrian Reislings and Gruners are a steal and are worth exploring not only because of their value but because they are so delicious. (FX Pichler, Hitzberger, Birgit Eichinger, Pichler Krutzer, many others at a range of price points). These wines were a discovery for me. Same with the Alsace whites (Mann, Schoffit), which I think are a great value because they are somewhat off the beaten track. A special trove can be found in their Jura selections, which are not well known but worth trying. Compare a Jura Chardonnay to Burgundy and you will be pleasantly impressed especially with the price point. And try the reds like Trousseau. Although they have Italian reds and whites, their selection is not deep. I wouldn't start there but I've enjoyed the few they have. Same with Spanish producers. I think for DC this is really an extraordinary shop, deep in the areas it focuses on and worth exploring. A good place to start is their Saturday tastings or periodic wine classes, which are worth the price.

Cute little wine shop in Cleveland Park. We've been in several times; the staff are always friendly and seem knowledgeable. We also came recently for one of their wine classes. It was fun! They have a great selection of European wines and are able to offer their expertise if you need help finding the perfect bottle.
