I ordered in the app for the Massachusetts Ave location but the order went to the New Mexico Ave location, now first the employees act like so walk there it's only 3 minutes away. Finally they make my sandwich not including extras I paid for If I behaved like that at my work I wouldn't have a job awful customer service ?

DO NOT GO HERE! Unless you want to spend $36 on 6 strawberries. yes you heard right, $6 per STRAWBERRY. I had no issue paying this but the strawberries were WARM and not fresh and just a waste of money. We did not see the total of the strawberries until we got in the car. After we took a bite out of one strawberry, we immediately went to ask for a refund because $36 for strawberries is insane and they were not even good. The manager was rude and said we could not get a refund and did not try to accommodate. I would never come here again and I love the shopping strip because of Playa Bowl but this is a place we will never return to. No thank you!

I had not been in here for quite a few years. I was pleasantly surprised by the fair prices and excellent service.

Do not rely on this business’ employees to know what they have in their stores. They gave me incorrect information over the phone and I wasted my time and money ubering there for nothing.I wasted $70 and 1.5 hours of my life ubering to this place after they confirmed over the phone that they had haggis (the Scottish food) in stock, only to have the staff act like they didn’t know what I was talking about when I arrived. I specifically asked about this product, I specifically confirmed the location to make sure I went to the right store, and I had them repeat it to make absolutely sure they had it, and they were totally clueless. Absolutely unprofessional. I have no idea what I could have done differently to avoid this. The woman who answered the phone left me on hold for fifteen minutes while she went and checked, and verbally confirmed to me over the phone that they had it. I just have no idea why they would say they had something so specific if they were just making it up.

I’ve been a customer at Wagshal’s since my early days in DC, when Mr. and Mrs. Wagshal presided over the establishment. Wagshal’s is a beloved DC institution for good reason!Wagshal’s stands out to me for its sandwiches, its holiday meal plates and its friendly, responsive service. Sandwiches are invariably well-made and delicious. We’ve also appreciated Wagshal’s holiday meal plates for 2-4 people. Deliveries are reliable.I’m sad to say that, as of late 2023, Wagshal’s prices for many holiday meats, side dishes and baked goods have grown stratospheric. That is leading me to shop more establishments and purchase from Wagshal’s less frequently. It’s unfortunate if Wagshal’s pricing is discouraging purchases by the loyal customers who built its success over the years.

Very slow, and lied about our order being ready. Told us that they say every order is ready immediately even when they haven’t been made. We were supposed to get our food at 1:15 and it was ready at 2.The order was incorrect and poorly made, and they disregarded special instructions. I would not order from here.

Make sure that you check for ingredients before you buy from the hot bar. The rice had shrimp in it( which I am highly allergic too). If I hadn’t searched carefully , I would have bought it.The cashier just said” I hear ya”, which was not appropriate !

Overpriced. $22 for a simple turkey sandwich and $11 for a breakfast sandwich on stale bagel. Chips and drinks not included. The team is friendly and helpful. Love the neighborhood market atmosphere.

Omg!! Being from NJ and used to Harold's famous sandwiches I was skeptical at first about getting a Rueben sandwich. This place was close to AU dorms and I was craving a Rueben so I figured why not see what DC Rueben is like. When I say this did not disappoint I mean it. The sandwich was thick like me. Wasn't overpowered in dressing. It was just right. It was too big for me to finish so I only ate half the sandwich and put in the fridge for later. While I was waiting I looked around the market area which was cute. I picked up a crossiant and a slice of cake as well. I definitely recommend and will be visiting again.

I normally stop here when I’m handling business nearby. I’ve been a few times and never had an issue. I always order a cold sandwich. My food is always fresh and taste pretty good. Most of the staff are very friendly. The prices are on the higher side but I guess it’s not horribly high.

There was a bit of a line and the cashier's while accurate were a bit standoffish and could have been friendlier. The desert I picked up was quite nice.

Wagshal's is a D.C. institution. It's been around for decades serving Washington, D.C. residents including several former U.S. presidents. It's since expanded to several locations and this one is in Spring Valley in Northwest D.C. close to the Maryland border. It's in an old strip mall and a stone's throw from Wagshal's Market. This location is spacious and sells a variety of groceries from wine, grab-n-go items, bread, etc. They sell breakfast, lunch, and dinner items from a stand within the shop. In the mornings, they sell bagels, pastries, and coffee. I recommend their chocolate croissant.
