The lady working seemed very nice but she was also extraordinarily slow. She was probably processing one person every ten minutes. And the line was 6 people long, so you do the math.

Unreal. I got to the post office at 2:30 and the building was wide open, but there wasn’t a single person working there. Just a sign saying out until 3:30. Not sure how this is safe or allowed since the building was totally unsecured.

It is shuttered today July 18th. For what reason? This would not be allowed in Cleveland Park or friendship heights but here on Georgia avenue anything goes.

apparently this location doesn't understand what time they're supposed to close

I would give it zero stars. Avoid at all costs. Go to a different office. They Take 1+ hour long lunch breaks at RANDOM times of the day, so it’s always unpredictable. Only one person working there so nobody to cover while they shut the ENTIRE office down for this one woman’s lunch.
Its so frustrating lugging a 30 pound box in 90° heat just to have to either wait an hour or turn around and hope the next day you dont catch them when theyre at lunch.

Line of 12 people. Two people behind the counter. One is literally sitting there yawning and not taking clients. The other has been dealing with one person for 15 min.

Echoing what others have said: definitely don’t plan your day around this post office. The lunch hour changes every day, even though it’s posted as 10:30-11:30. Don’t count on it being open anytime between 10:30 and 2:30, I guess? Two stars because the staff here is actually helpful, when you can catch them. A shame the management is so incompetent.

I’ve visited this post office a couple of times, and unfortunately, my experiences haven’t been great. The parking situation is a major issue. The lot is tiny, and there’s rarely any available space, so you have to circle the surrounding blocks to find street parking.
Once inside, the space feels very large but underutilized, and the atmosphere is quite drab—nothing about it feels welcoming. There are a lot of PO boxes that seem available for rent, but the customer service area is relatively small. The service is also typically very slow, as there’s usually only one person working the counter, and it’s behind thick glass, which I assume is there for safety reasons given the neighborhood.
They do have a small display area for shipping supplies, but overall, the experience is underwhelming. It’s unfortunate because this post office has potential, but the overall lack of convenience, along with the less-than-ideal atmosphere, makes it hard to recommend.

There is no one working here… might as well be permanently closed

I've been here 4 times and only 2 times has it actually been open. I try to avoid the hours that the person working here takes lunch but its different everyday !

Incredibly rude customer service. Envelope came open and asked if I or the clerk could use a piece of the scotch tape at her desk to close it. She refused.
