Came here at 11:50am on a Thursday and there was a sign on the door that said closed for lunch…which is fine! But it said they were having lunch until 1:50pm. I went back at 2pm, and the worker was still not back from lunch.

Why is it closed in the middle of the day? Open 7:30am-3:30pm, yet closed at 12:45 pm?

It is 8:55 am on Monday (non holiday) and the location is closed. Hours of operation states it opens 7:30 am Mon-Sat. This is not the first time occurrence.

Never known poor service like it. At home or abroad. Called in whilst passing to purchase stamps to send postcards back to the UK. There was someone being served at the counter, but spotted the self service machine, I selected the stamps I needed and was about to purchase them when a guy in USPS uniform informed me they were closed and I'd have to go 'over the street'. I asked, when did you close? (Baring in mind the doors were still open and someone was being served at the counter) He replied, 'now - I'm collecting the mail' and again told me I'd have to go 'over the street' wherever that is. I checked the time on my watch as I walked along to the metro - 1659. A minute before their closing time - I could have bought my stamps and been on my way had I not been rudely interrupted.

No matter what time of the day I go to this post office it is never open what is the point ]of you even being in Union Station when it's never opened I'm not understanding its p⁰))waste people's time having to park only to find out that the post office is not even open. It's 10:00 in the morning how are you not open when you were supposed to be open at 7:30 in the morning.

People who work here are terrible. The place when they are supposed to be open never is. Came here at 11am on Saturday. The museum gift shop and the police officer at the entrance told me that they are rarely there, they never pick up their phones. The lights were on, people were waiting but they never came after an hour waiting. I went to the other post office attached to the building where I met Katherine, who was supposed to be in the museum. She gave me an attidue and said she doesnt work for the museum and can be wherever she wants whenever. Clearly she forgets she is working for a government organization. One of the worst experiences I've had and I feel truly sorry for Katherine cause she clearly has issues beyond mailing services.

Came at 3p to send urgent documents. The place was closed (the were supposed to close 3:30p). The guy next door told me these people rarely come to work, and when they do they leave early. Guess DOGE was right, this is not how my taxes should be spent. GO ELON!

It’s 1:35pm on a Saturday. Google maps says they’re open. The sign outside the door says they’re open. Are they open? Of course not.

Not open around noon-totally fine to take lunch but be upfront about when you’ll be back. Waited from 11:45AM-12:45PM, employees never returned from lunch. Please put hours on the note on your door so we can plan around.

The service is fine, but this place will make sure you pay as much as possible. I don’t really understand why, maybe convenience, but I’m used to other USPS giving you options like the number of stamps you can purchase (like 5 or 10 instead of the full sheet of 20) or the number of days to expedite shipping. They did not do that here.
