Used once after recommendation from a friend. Gregory was excellent with communication. When I got the email of date and time with return, the date was wrong (said January 1 and it was mid November) and with no time. No contact from anyone when my items were actually dropped off, and among my items returned were two socks that were not ours. I tried to call the number onThe website, left a VM and over 1 week later no return call. Again Gregory kind and replied to text and apologized. I thought I'd give one more try out of desperation due to a broken washer. I went on their website and chose the date and times offered on their website, and my request was declined for reason "n/a". I tried to call, went to voicemail again. Maybe a bad review will actually trigger their reply but new customers should be aware of poor customer service and the possibility your stuff won't be returned to you.

Had several good experiences with the company (and I should note the clothes were always well-cleaned) prior to this last one. Unfortunately, the unprofessional approach of the company during our last interaction led to a splitting of ways. I had scheduled a laundry pick-up for the next day at 12 pm the night before, and that appointment was confirmed/accepted early the morning of the scheduled pick-up. Fast forward to 2 pm, and I happen to walk by my door and see my clothes still sitting outside. I immediately called the company, and left a message, querying why my clothing had not picked up. Over two hours later, I received a text (not a call), explaining that the company folks had been in a meeting that ran over and so they would have to pick up my laundry the day after at the same time…no apology, no asking if that would work for me…just unbelievably and unexpectedly rude and against all customer service training I’ve ever seen or heard. Miffed, I was still going to accept this had my next question been answered sufficiently: I followed up asking about a discount for the inconvenience. I was flatly told “we don’t offer discounts in cases like this because the client did not need to leave home or use any fuel.” Firstly, there was no way for them to ascertain if that was the case. As I pointed out in response, I may well have needed some of these clothes to wear somewhere on a quick turnaround. Furthermore, discounts or some showing of accommodation are the general remedy for poor service — accidental or not. And there is absolutely no doubt that this was very poor service. Very sad to have been dealt with in this manner as a repeat customer and someone trying to support a Black-owned business. There was literally no need for this rift or review to occur, but here we are…smh.

They cancelled my pick up order twice. I once they did pick up my laundry and returned it my clothes smell like a dirty washing machine. I hope I can get this terrible stench out.

My original review from March 9, 2022: I used this service for nearly a year. After a few months, I was told that I could only schedule pickups on Wednesdays because that is when they come to my area. Fine. Sometimes the pickup would be hours after the scheduled window. Okay. At one point I received laundry back that didn't fully fit in their provided black bag, so my towels and linens were placed in that bag, and my intimates were placed in a transparent plastic bag which was on display in my building's lobby until I returned home. Not great, but I continued to use them. Today I had a pickup scheduled and completely forgot about it, thus had no laundry ready when the driver came to my building. This is the first time I had made any such error. The company's owner emailed to say that I would be charged a $25 fine if I continued to use their services, citing the cost of gas. As a result, today was my last day as their customer, because I find it unreasonably punitive to charge $25 for a one-time mistake and cite the cost of gas when I was limited to Wednesday pickups in the first place as the day they'd be in my area. UPDATE -- Adding screenshot of the owner's response to my initial review on Google so that it is not lost to further editing. I also cached their website on the Wayback Machine. Overall, this is a small business that is still learning about how to run a business and handle customer service; leaving snarky, defensive responses to reviews is not a winning policy or professional. Here are my replies to the owner's response; my original review is below. 1) Owner stated that I never found time to "put in a word of appreciation" in the year of using (paying for) their service and now complaining when things don't go "my way." My appreciation as a customer was continuing to use their service after being limited to one day per week for scheduling pickups and having my underwear on display in the lobby of my building (not in a "private room"), which I wouldn't describe as things "going my way" in using their service. 2) Owner states that my complaints are "sudden." However, I did complain in Sept 2021 when my underwear was left on display in the lobby. Actually, let me go ahead and attach a screenshot of that too -- you'll notice no apology in that response. I've tried to be accommodating in support of a small business but reached my limit. 3) Owner does not deny that pickups were outside the scheduled window and instead stated that it didn't matter because my laundry was "safe." In fact, I don't think it's our doorman's job to handle my laundry pickup, and he will attest to me having sat there in the lobby waiting for the pickup so that I could handle it myself, and I finally gave up because I couldn't afford to keep sitting there waiting, so reluctantly I let him handle it. The owner states that it was in a secure room, however, since the owner has no context about the operation of my building, they would not know that that office is frequently left unattended and packages have gone missing from that room. But alas. 4) Owner states that reminders are sent about the pickup. There were occasional "driver on the way" emails for some, not all, of the pickups I've had, but I did not receive any such reminder for the pickup that was scheduled for March 9th. Also, I'll just say that I was not aware of the lockout fee before this incident, and if I had known that a fee was going to be charged, I would have brought my laundry down within 5 minutes when the doorman called to say the pickup driver was there. This fee is not listed on their website anywhere, and just in case they decide to add it later today, I've cached their website on the Wayback Machine for reference.

My clothes came back more dirty than they were. They have stains all over them that were not there when they were picked up. I am thoroughly dissapointed, especially due to how much I paid to have my clothes damaged.

Our washer broke and after handwashing a load, we decided it'd be more convenient to try a laundry service and was pleasantly surprised with this service. The low reviews really do a disservice and seems like it was the client's fault for not picking up their phone. As long as you pick up their calls, I really don't see where the service can go wrong. When they came to pick up the laundry, they called an hour early to let them know they were on their way, sometime between 12-1 and they came around 1. Three days later, they called 90 min in advance to give their ETA. The clothes came back in clear bags, nicely folded, smelling clean. If I had to come up with a complaint, (which really there were none), their business name makes me want pizza.

I’ve used them just a couple times now and really love them. I use them for my large quilts and comforters that will not fit in my small washer and dryer. The first time I scheduled a pickup was for later in the afternoon so I was not home when they stopped by hours earlier. The driver called me, was very friendly and told me they like to get the pick-ups done earlier.. not a problem. We arranged for a pickup the following day and it was great. He is always very friendly. As for the quality of the laundry.. it’s fantastic. I have 2 dogs that shed a lot and the blankets are always dog hair free when I get them back!Service: Delivery

I was really excited to try this company, their prices and services seemed unparalleled. However, they never came to pick up my clothes, didn't send any notification, and when I eventually called I was told the driver came by and couldn't find a place to pull up at my apartment complex. There was shockingly little effort to reach out and actually complete the order.

August 2020, is my first experience in using Uppercrust-lundry, I am so very impressed. In this age of the millennium, where good service is no longer expected; I have I have found a business that is a diamond in midst of the pandemic. Thank you so very much. I am a customer for life. I have given this company more than one try. The fist time was just ok, but I tried again. They have been consistently shoddy. They just seem as if they would rather be doing something else with their time. They return the laundry in a disorganised manner. Every time I have used it I have ended up with somebody elses dainties in my bags. There are better options out there imho.

My wife booked for a pick up for 12 PM-1 PM today. We are currently living in a hotel as we just arrived in DC a couple of days ago. She woke up around 11 and found an extremely nasty email from this company. See the picture below and make a judgment yourself. (in case google does not show picture, please find the review on yelp. Basically, they sent an email stating that we are so bad and we are on DO NOT SERVICE list. That we are RUDE. The email was sent way before 12PM which was supposed to be the pick up time) Later, my wife mentioned that the manager did call yesterday but it seemed like they were confused about if the laundry had already been left to the front desk. However, that proves more on how confused they are about how to handle their business!!!"I" answered the phone while my wife was still asleep. She handles small details of our lives. I did not know she made a booking.I know what they will say: Why was she still asleep at 10 am - 1020 am when they arrived? Well do you know what jetlag is? And you have her phone number why didn't you call? Most importantly this nasty email was sent at 1042AM!!!!!!!!! They just can't wait!Whoever this idiot is, definitely has no professional management skill to deal with any issue that can be handled easily. You can either call her phone while the driver is downstairs or you can leave a message to let her know you have arrived but the pick up was not successful. Even demanding a no show fee of 10 dollars a trip is reasonable although your pick up timing was way too early!Instead, you got on your computer and fired this nasty email like your life depends on it!We will be sure to save it and post it whenever necessary.
