Terrible experience. I returned the van with more gas than I took out. But still got charged a gas fee plus $30 service fee. Unbelievable. After much explaining, they still not refund me.Thanks goodness for 1800 customer service agents, they are helpful and professional. They refunded me the gas charges and associated fees.

The employees at this location are scammers! I booked a truck with a quarter tank of gas and returned it with the same amount of gas!I then received my final bill a day later with 2 gas fees being charged to my card. One for $50 and the other for $40! The manager wasn’t helpful at all in refunding my money and brushed me off completely. Please take photos “of everything” before renting a uhaul from this location or you will be scammed for additional fees! I will never use uhaul again for this experience alone, I’d rather use Buget or another trustworthy company!!!

I don't write reviews, but my experience at this Uhaul center was so exceptionally bad that I have to share. My Uhaul van had low tire pressure. The dashboard gave a warning of this, and visually the tire looked very flat. The staff at the Uhaul center argued, angrily, that the tire wasn't flat, and that it was just a problem with the van's "old internal system." This seemed pretty ridiculous to argue about considering we were both looking at an obviouslyflat tire. They finally agreed to fill the tire up with air, but when it immediately deflated again, they became even more agitated that I was not willing to drive a van with a flat tire. After wasting about an hour trying to convince the staff to give us a safe van, we got a new car. I returned the van 30 minutes early and, as I returned the keys, asked the staff if there was anything else I needed to do complete my car return. They said no - and then proceeded to not complete my car return paperwork on-time, causing Uhaul to double-charge me for "returning the car late." I called Uhaul customer service and explained the situation. They gave me a refund a week later for the amount I was overcharged. However, I'm still amazed my by my experience. I would do everything you can to avoid this Uhaul. Home Depot rents moving vans, and I'm sure will provide a much better customer experience.

Did not have the 24/7 PICKUP that you are told about when you place the order online. My reservation was at 7am and your website said it could be picked up an hour before. When I got there at 6am, I found out that I had to wait in the cold until you opened at 7am. The app shut down - but not before it charged my card . The assigned van was sitting on a quarter tank of gas, the tire air pressure was low, was slightly dirty, and it was buried in the back which required me to go back to the office and get someone to move some trucks out of the way. I should have listened to my spider-sense when this location was the lowest rated location, but it was the closest U-Haul. I couldn’t wait to return this van as I was sure it would fall apart.

The vehicle was in a deplorable state, and I encountered a few issues during the checkout process. Firstly, there was a noticeable urine smell in the vehicle. Secondly, the passenger door made a loud noise when opening. Lastly, the passenger rear-view mirror was not functional. These issues were particularly inconvenient during rush hour and a protest.

My experience with the staff here was very refreshing. During this transition in my life, i needed staff who were helpful, and attentive. Thank you lawrece, and Nas, just to name a couple of the great staff who made sure i received exemplary customer service ??

Unprofessional rude staff with nonexistant management dismissing any chance to resolve a problem. Woukd benefit with cleaning house and getting an entire new staff and training.

Reserved a truck and moving pads a week in advance, went to pick up and no pads were available. The truck was damaged so we had to contest the photos of the initial represented condition and the tank was on E. Customer service was nonexistent

Excellent customer service-for both storage and vehicle rental. They are organized, kind, tidy, helpful, and they manage the site well. Moving and storage is HARD. They try to make it easier. The site is clean, safe, well run, and they are consistently very responsive and helpful. Payton was particularly helpful on a day of moving. Capitol Hill DC location is a well run site.

This place is a disaster from start-to-finish. If at all practical for your location, just go with Budget instead.To start, the self-check-in app was so glitchy and slow that it wasn’t even usable.Luckily, we were picking up during office hours. But it was a long wait to get to a representative.Then, we found out that the furniture dolly and moving equipment (that we paid for long in advance) were not available. We were moving furniture and appliances; the equipment was important. U-Haul provided no advance notice that our order couldn’t be fulfilled and had no solution. We had to rush to figure out some alternative, adding stress and wasting time on moving day.The check-out process was also slow and tedious due to the glitchy app and highly disengaged staff.Incidentally, about a month later I was helping a friend move. We went with Budget Rental and it was so much better! They had everything ready, staff was helpful, and the process was easy.

I used this UHaul location for on-site storage, multiple truck and equipment rentals, and to purchase moving supplies. The storage area is pristinely clean (as of Summer 2023). They have a well-stocked inventory of products at all times, and they take good care of their trucks and vans. The staff is helpful and capable, and manager Wayne is very present and always looking for ways to help folks. The team was willing and knowledgable in helping us shift reservations as our plans changed, and were impressively budget conscious - only ever suggesting what we actually needed. I highly recommend using this location for moving or storage.

Experience was terrible. Employees were not welcoming or friendly. Truck should be at the junk yard. I felt like I was blast back into an episode of Sanford and Son. The truck engine light was on and felt like it would fall apart like and angry sibling kicking over your homemade fort. I will never again use this facility ever. I feel like I should be refunded.
