Such a lovely store. I purchased lip gloss, lip liner, and pressing powder unique to my melanin. The makeup artist was very honest and knowledgeable about what products to use and how to use them for various things. I walked out feeling smart and pretty.

The store is simply lovely, and theybhave a great selection of products. The owner was extremely kind and the consultant was incredibly knowledgeable about skin care and make-up. I received a free make-up consultation, and the consultant was spot-on with the right shades for my skin. I walked out with some great products and new tips on skin care and make-up application.

Ordered an expensive 300 ml hair product and instead of packaging it in a secure box, they packaged it in a thick green envelope, and when the envelope arrived to me, the product wasn’t in it. Wasn’t able to get my money back. I wouldn’t order anything from here, they won’t package your items thoughtfully and they’ll end up lost in shipping.

I received the “Teach Me How” makeup lesson at the boutique and it was a MAJOR CONFIDENCE BOOSTER!Marjani has a phenomenal selection of products for black skin. The boutique is set up in a breezy, non-intimidating way. Very intimate and chic!The lesson went at a generous pace, which is great for people without experience (like me lol) I learned how to apply face and eye makeup for different formal occasions. Also learned brush techniques which was a STRUGGLE for me. I even received some skincare recommendations.The key part of this experience being so positive was the amount of fun we had. I truly felt as though my sister was teaching me how to do my makeup.Suffice to say, I’ll be returning again and again. I recommend it to anyone in the DMV shopping for quality, black owned cosmetics and hair care.

This place is straight out of a black girl's dream!!BBC has elevated my skincare routine!From the black soap cleanser to the neroli exfoliator, the products (made for melanated skin by people with melanin), show black women how differently skincare can be when we are not an afterthought.I also discovered Shaffali and Sistine through BBC, which has shown my skin the moisture it craved but didn't know was possible!I'm so grateful for Kimberly and her team!PS: Service is always professional, knowledgeable, and kind, and delivery (and pickup) is prompt also!

One Saturday around 1pm, I called in to see if they had a hair care product I was looking for. The kind associate named Sydnia put the items to the side for me since there was limited stock on the floor. When I arrived 30 minutes later, Sydnia had my 2 hair care items at the register ready for purchase. She even gave me some guidance on how to best use them. This was the only place in the city I could find these products and I am sooooooo grateful. This cute black owned hair boutique is located right across from Krispy Kreme on the other side of Connecticut Ave (next to the jeweler). Please go in and show them some support!

This is such a wonderful beauty store! The owner helped me get matched and knew the perfect shade for my skin. There are also many clean and green products for those with sensitive skin like mine. And the product selection is stellar!

I took the “Teach me how to do it class” and had the best time with Sandi. She was patient and encouraging. Afterwards she gave me great recommendations on a skin care routine. I used the products she recommended and after 1 day I saw a noticeable difference. My skin was softer that it had ever been. 100% would recommend taking the time to check out the store and work with the team in one of the private classes.It’s officially the only place I plan to buy skincare from ever again. They are affordable, extremely effective, and leave my skin feeling fresh. Thank you Marjani team!!
