I applied for a one bedroom apartment here and everything went incredibly smoothly until one person was no longer involved. The leasing agent, Zahra, is an incredible resource and the Noah Management Company would do well to better utilize her. She gave an amazing virtual tour and stayed on top of everything throughout the entire application process. I ended up not signing the lease and choosing a different apartment because Noah management company took over from Aldon and left Zahra out of the loop. They messed up my lease at the last minute. I hope all future applicants heed this review and get to work specifically with her. She was the most pleasant and accommodating leasing agent one could possibly ask for.

If you are an entomologist this could not be a better place for you to live. Honestly, absolutely teeming a variety of species for you to observe everyday in your home.Oh, and don’t worry about pest control - they won’t interrupt your observation. Trust me! When I lived here I literally had the person from the previous pest control company laugh in my face about having a bug free home. The lack of air conditioning in the DC summer creates an even more perfect environment for them encouraging their growth and multiplication. Entomologist please, please be careful though. The burgeoning community of mice in the building will cause your friends to fight for resources. On the bright side though the property management is attempting to sell the building which means they are taking as little care of it as possible. So maybe they’ll out pace the mice? I’m not really sure, it’s not my field of expertise. But I hope you found this helpful!

The Brittany has wonderful residents, is walking disctance to great shopping and restaurants, and a quick trip into DC. The apartments are big and have lots of storage and lots of light. Lived there for 6 years with rent control and was able to save thousands of dollars a month. There are star employees (Oscar and Ulysses) that you can rely on. Gave all of that up because they sold the building and stopped maintaining it. Had to move because I couldn't handle not having air conditioning during the DC summer, and the anxiety of being accosted by roaches, mice, silver fish, house centipedes, pill bugs, etc. at every turn was too much.

It is close to a Safeway and Mcgruders vegetables and fruits. There might be an Amazon Grocery that opened on wisconsin ave and a Giant near UDC. Wal-Mart on Georgia avenue or Wal-Mart off of Riggs are sort of accessible if one does not have a car assuming buses are an option. There is a UPS and post office nearby. There is no pool or gym. There is a communal laundry facility. I enjoyed living at the Garfield that was nearby more, but the person decided to sell the unit I lived in. Now the Brittany is being sold too. I'm tempted to talk about other things but this is just for reviews of an Apartment complex. My Ice Maker doesn't work still, but Ice is not a need. The apartment is small. The staff has been nice enough. The Garfield had a concierge that employs staff for 24/7. The coffee maker at the Brittany was stopped because of Covid stuff. Furniture in the lobby was moved out. The barber shop I went to closed. There might be a salon I have never tried if I can ever get in contact opened at times called Salon Familia that I hope can cut men's hair. Kumar seemed ok, but got a job elsewhere. Sandra and everyone has been ok. The maintenance people seem ok too. It isn't their fault the leasing office is only allowed certain hours. I have had a refrigerator and microwave replaced. They spray to make sure no bugs come. Mice do not seem to be as bad in this area as some places in DC. People walk their dogs and there is a senior living place nearby. The rec center nearby seems mostly geared towards kids and elderly. A small library that has a separate area for kids is nearby too. It is handicap accessible. Only cats of a certain size or service animals are allowed. The tv in the laundry room isn't really used and there is no remote. The cardboard recycling area might be a little dangerous as I have fallen trying to get to it in the past. There is no way to setup specific hours for the apartment phone system so I did not set it up, yet very recently I got a call from a delivery driver at 7 am claiming I had a package that turned out to be for someone else. The leasing office took my number back off or at least that was what I was told.

In the last 7 months since her arrival I've worked along and interacted with Ms. Sandra Davis. She is a wonderful, friendly and committed member of the Aldon staff. Her work ethic is commendable and she truly invests her time and effort into everything she does. She is very respectful of the residents needs and desires and works well with the rest of her team. I am happy to have her as The Property Manager!

This review is ONLY for Mahendra Kumar the current onsite property manager. Mr. Kumar is a very nasty individual that lacks customer service skills. Everything that Mahendra does lacks vigor and care for the tenants. He is not a forthright man and works in the spirit of favoritism. He does not reply to emails nor communicate like a professional. He likes to stir up strife between Aldon and tenants. I would not recommend any company or Aldon to continues to do business with Kumar. A man that does not represent the community care of Aldon, should not represent Aldon to their tenants. He goes out of his way to show his personal feelings towards tenants by not doing the simple task of his job nor replying in a timely manner. His work ethic is one of slothfulness and strife. I do highly recommend. Aldon but not this onsite representative.I will remove this review when Mahendra Kumar has been replaced.....UPDATE: 3/2019 So I just found out that a man convicted of 1st degree child sex abuse is living here....but get this... Enough is Enough.....why weren't we warned????
