Just happened to visit DC on Tuesday, June 14th and bumped into Shah & Shah Jewelers. What a great experience I had. The staff was very friendly, courteous and very professional. Absolutely helpful. Would recommend if you are looking for a high quality jewelry.

We worked with Parri and were very impressed by how knowledgeable she was and how well she communicated throughout the entire process. I am a person who gets overwhelmed by the sheer number of toothpaste options in target so I appreciate that Parri listened to what we were looking for and helped show us specific things she thought we might like. She helped us create a rose gold band that paired beautifully with my engagement ring and wedding band. The finished product was elegant and exceptional quality. The diamonds sparkle like crazy even under regular lights. In terms of covid precautions: masks were worn the entire time and they have hand sanitizer conveniently located throughout. Since it's by appointment you have place to yourself. The store itself is gorgeous and beautifully decorated. There is a lot of stuff not on display so just ask if there is something you want to see. The website only scratches the surface in terms of their inventory.

I will start off by saying that I visited Brilliant Earth, Blue Nile, and James Allen, which we’re all nice but the level of quality and design doesn’t compare to Shah & Shah. These retailers sell jewelry or rather settings that are made from pre-casts, so the fit may not be as nice as one that is custom made for your stone.

I will start off by saying that I visited Brilliant Earth, Blue Nile, and James Allen, which we're all nice but the level of quality and design doesn't compare to Shah & Shah. These retailers sell jewelry or rather settings that are made from pre-casts, so the fit may not be as nice as one that is custom made for your stone. With that being said, I recently worked with Catherine of Shah & Shah on designing an engagement ring. She tirelessly worked over several months designing and refining the ring. Catherine made every step of the process easy and she never once forced me into a decision because it was easier or beneficial for her. The quality of service I received was exceptional, she kindly held the ring for several weeks so that my fiancé would not find it. When I was unhappy with some particular part of the design she reworked it so that I was. Ultimately, when it came time to propose, my gf/fiancé was not just pleased with ring, she loves it!

I walked into Shah & Shah with an old bracelet from my brother with a broken chain. It was right before closing after I got off work and Catherine Hawthorne was extremely patient and kind while she told me about the antique and she reattached the small chain for me for free! I am really happy and relieved she fixed my bracelet from me! It's also very cool that she was able to tell that it was really old from the way it was made.

We were trying to get in the locked building to see a different business. I called the only number on the front door and they were kind enough to come down and let us in. I think that speaks volumes for a business to help someone when they don't have to. Thank you to the two ladies.

Every Christmas my dad's parents would give their 3 granddaughters a loose diamond and their only grandson a gold coin. It is a tradition they started when my older sister had her first Christmas. My grandmother continued the tradition after my dad died when I was 8 until each of our 18th Christmases. All in all, I ended up with 28 small loose diamonds to make something for myself. My mother added to my collection of diamonds my dad had given her through other pieces of jewelry and divided it between my sister and myself to put with what we already had. For my 32nd birthday, I decided it was time to do something with them. I had done some research and made some calls before stumbling upon Shah and Shah. I dropped in 30 minutes before close to see if they could make me custom pieces with my diamonds. Normally I wouldn't wait this late to go, but their hours are 10-6 Monday thru Friday and I had just gotten off work to make it there! They were more than happy to sit down and talk to me about what I had in mind, and even went so far to stay an hour after closing to weigh each of my diamonds, make a couple of sketches of what we thought would be timeless classic pieces, but also fashionable and could be used beyond special occasion purposes. The only idea I really had going into this was that I did not want to do a cluster diamond ring like my sister had done with her own diamonds. It was designed by a mainstream commercial jeweler and she didn't have the best experience with them. She also doesn't particularly care with what was done with her diamonds and plans to remake her diamonds into something else at a later time. I knew that I had to get it right the first time, and Shah & Shah was going to make it happen. The outcome of my pieces were beyond amazing: They made a dainty ring with five 0.10 ct diamonds in 18k white gold for my right hand. I also had a necklace made in 18k white gold and 18k rose gold with the other 23 diamonds totaling in .77 cts and 24 inches long in length. I wanted a long necklace where the diamonds could be asymmetrical and more abstract than being in precise order on the chain. It could be doubled up as well if I chose to wear it more as a checker than extended necklace. It's very flexible in how it can be worn. I got exactly what I asked for. Though I will not go into pricing, I will say that pricing was extremely fair and doable with the budget I asked them to stay within. After everything was completed, they actually came in $50 under the quoted price initially given to me at the consultation. You are paying for the metals used and the craftmanship that goes into these custom pieces - all well worth the money spent. The retail value came out surprisingly nice as well, but at the end of the day the cash value isn't a matter to me as much as the sentimental value. That goes without saying. The turn around on the submitted order to the time I recieved the pieces back was super fast. It was incredible! Now, I will say that my items were not explicitely complicated in design, but they did come back extremely fast. I did not have to wait more than 2.5 weeks for them to submit the order and have my items back ready for pick-up. Shah & Shah from start to finish have been nothing but extremely professional and wonderful to work with. I did have the opportunity to sit down with the 3rd generation owner of S&S, Colin, to help me figure out what to do with my diamonds and it was a pleasure to work with him with his personal touch on the endeavor. In addition to him, I have been working with Jordan more. Jordan is sweet and super easy to talk to. Her demeanor is relaxing and very open to helping you find your niche. She is a valuable asset to Shah and Shah, plus just a breath of fresh air compared to some stuffy jewelers I had spoken to before picking Shah and Shah. I needed to get a few links of my newly purchased watch removed. I visited a couple of different jewelers, both said they'd charge $20. I stopped by at Shah and Shah. I asked them how much it would cost and they said they'd happily do it right then for free. Very impressed by their generosity and exceptional customer care.
