“The initial offer price was great, so I signed up. The facility is safe and clean. I kept my furniture there for months without any coverage and it was in great shape when I moved out without any damage or termite. The manager is a very good, honest woman named Tiffanne. She was quick to refund the extra payment that I had made by mistake after moving out. The only issue with Extra Space is that they keep increasing the rent every 6 months without informing you. So read your contract terms carefully. I am not sure if other storage companies also do that. Maybe they all do. But if you are looking for a short-term contract I think it's great value for money.”

“I've used Bookstore Movers for three moves now during my DC tenure and they are, in a word, amazing. When you submit a request, they get back to you within an hour with an estimate. They are really helpful with everything you need to get done pre-move, the moving truck rolls to your front door exactly on time, and they are quick and efficient but very safe with the move -- everything gets wrapped up and taped up. All in all, we were done with a two-bedroom house move ten miles down the road (farewell, DC) in two hours. 100% recommend.”

“Let me tell you about the adventure I had when I decided to store my entire collection of oversized inflatable pool toys there for the winter. Yes, you read that right - I'm the proud owner of a ridiculous number of inflatable flamingos, unicorns, and even a life-sized inflatable T-Rex. They're like family to me!So, picture this: it's a cold December morning, and I'm feeling all responsible as I haul my inflatables to Self Storage Plus. I rent a unit, pack everything in, and pat myself on the back for being so organized. Fast forward to March when I decide it's time for a pool party to welcome spring. I head back to the storage unit, ready to unleash the inflatable army.Except... I couldn't find them! Panic set in. Did someone steal my pool posse? Were they abducted by aliens? I was about to launch a full-scale investigation when I heard laughter echoing from a nearby unit. Curious, I followed the sound and stumbled upon a group of staff members from Self Storage Plus having the time of their lives with my inflatables!Turns out, they thought my collection was so epic that they couldn't resist inflating them for a bit of fun during their breaks. Imagine my relief and amusement! The staff apologized profusely, but honestly, I couldn't be mad. Seeing a group of grown adults riding inflatable unicorns and having a blast was worth the momentary panic.Not only did Self Storage Plus keep my belongings safe, but they also provided unexpected entertainment! Kudos to the friendly and playful staff for turning what could have been a stressful situation into a hilarious memory. “An acceptable place to return a trailer in the DC area A husband and wife launched U-Haul as a business in 1945. This truck and trailer rental service has grown to a large organization that has 23000 locations across the United States. We recently rented a small trailer to move some items to a location in DC. I have rented and returned from other locations but I have never returned an item to this location before. But like most people, I know that I do not use U-Haul very often. The location for this site is on the southwest corner of New York Ave NE and Bladensburg Ave NE. The area seems a little older than others but this place is easy to identify with a lot of trailers in a flat lot right next to the road. The entrance sign is well-marked. There is an open-air covered area to drive your return right up next to the building. It took a few minutes but a staff member came out to help us unhook the trailer and inspect it. Turn-in was that easy. I was impressed and happy that it was efficient and quick. Even with having to wait a few minutes for someone to come out, I was done and checked out in less than 15 minutes.”
“I used their after hours rental and it was a simple process. I didn’t have any issues with the truck and I got to keep the truck for longer than my reservation if I needed it.
Make sure you download the U-Haul app if you are using the after hours rental option.”

“I have used this storage service for years. Prior to the COVID-19 PANDEMIC, I was able to return to the states and take some of my belongings out. Many times I needed assistance with making payment arrangements, boxes, locks, a problem with my unit or anything, the manager or other staff members were always there to assist me. There is always Metropolitan Police in the area, which is across the street from the baseball stadium. Back in the day, I used to be stationed at the Barracks, worked at the Naval Yard and lifted at 3rd & M Street. So, when I go into the area now I have my ears and eyes open because I know the deal. I don't get locked in because I have my door code with me. I roll during the day light hours....only! You gotta be "streetwise" today no matter who you are. But the Manager and the other staff have always treated me with respect. I guess because no matter my situation at this site, I always give them respect, and I don't act like I am "privileged". Stay Safe y'all ❤️”
