The ladies are super helpful and friendly. They carry a nice array of sizes and as a larger than average woman finding things that are cute and unique and not just big is rare in the nicer shops so this one gets a 10/10

I've been a loyal patron for approximately 25 years. Today I arrived excitedly with my 17 year old daughter to look for a prom dress. As we came up stairs we were greeted cheerfully by a sales lady and I loved that. We were having trouble figuring out the front of the dress and I asked one of the sales ladies for help (a young African American woman with straight hair/bangs and a beret.) She was very rude and short with me while explaining how the dress is worn and yelled at me 4 times asking me the whereabouts of the hanger. Mind you, my daughter was still in the changing room because she was waiting for me the bring back the dress for her to try on, correctly. Of course, the hanger was back in the changing room, where it was supposed to be! After that bad experience, I put the dress on hold with another sales lady (Annie, who demonstrated excellent customer service.) We ended up purchasing another dress from Anthropology that cost $200 more. I was saddened by experience with the rude sales lady, I recalled bringing my daughter to the store when she was little more than a toddler, and the owner and sales ladies were ALL so nice. Too bad our experience today, shopping for my daughter's prom, was spoiled by one bad apple!

I have gone to many consignment stores over the years, but Secondi remains to be my favorite and forever go to because of the professionalism, superior customer service and selection of outfits, and above all the kindness at the store. I often go consignment shopping by myself, and when I step of the changing room, I am greeted with so many encouraging thoughts- "wow, that dress looks great on you! You like Johnny Was? Let me find another top for you." Secondi is an amazing business and is a gift to not just Dupont Circle but Washington D.C. I can't recommend it enough.

Why have I been sleeping on this place? Stopped in yesterday and found 4 incredible items - one didn’t fit (fortunately it’s still available elsewhere) but the others were perfect, and all were amazing deals for what they were. Everything is relative but when you’re getting a $300+ designer jacket for $87 that’s still a steal! And one quality top was $12 after all the discounts. I love the system of the price being lowered according to the date - you end up getting some surprise markdowns. And the staff were kind and helpful. I will definitely be back!

This place is snooty and takes itself way too seriously. If you plan to purchase, prepare to show your ID and grovel while the owner tell you how she's been ripped off by people using stolen credit cards. If you plan to consign here, resign yourself to the indignity of having people thumb through your items, and disapprovingly toss them to the side as worthless. The attitude in this place is awful.

eh... this place seems to cater more towards the older conservative woman who wants to feel like they are buying something vintage and chic, but can't tell that they are really just buying overpriced throw aways from warehouse/sample sales and second hand donations. I literally seen a Walmart sweater in there for $35 and a Jcrew jacket listed for $130.... It's not worth it in here. Prices are way too inflated for the material available. Average pricing were set between $200-450. I feel you would be better off just heading to the big retail store and buying new.

I love Secondi! I have found their selection to be current, their pieces to be in great condition and think they are very size inclusive! As a plus size person, I have found most consignment stores to be catered to smaller people - but there were tons of great pieces for me to try on at Secondi! They have an interesting price strategy - each month the prices drop a good bit. This incentivizes coming back in to see what is still available and what's on sale! Secondi has friendly service, you add your name to a list while you shop to try on clothes. I purchased the most beautiful pink Gucci shoulder bag at a great price!

I've been consigning here for several months now and have dropped off multiple batches of clothing and jewelry at this point. I see some of the other complaints people have made about consigning here but I can tell you that It is by far the best in-person consignment experience I have had relative to other brick-and-mortar stores where I have tried to consign in DC, which have been incredibly unpleasant (Current Boutique was rude and incredibly snooty about size, and Second Time Around literally just took my stuff and then went bankrupt and I had to fight to get paid). Secondi's transparency is excellent. They sent me itemized lists of my items and how they were priced within a day or two of drop-off and I have an account that lets me log in and see my earnings. You can do drop-off or schedule an appointment to walk through your items and take back what they don't want (if you drop off and they don't accept something they donate it, but my item lists indicated the number of donated items, which I appreciate). My only complaint at all is that it's not clear which items have sold when I log into my account, just the cumulative total of my earnings, however I do receive a list when I get my payment check. Clarity - it's just a flat 50% split, across the board. Compare to TheRealReal, where the commission varies dramatically depending on the item category and how much it sells for, sometimes as low as 20%. So at this point I only use TheRealReal for VERY high end items (genuine diamond jewelry, Gucci handbags, etc.) because I know I can get a 70% commission, and everything else I take to Secondi, because the 50% commission is higher than the commission I'd get at TheRealReal on most items and it's also super clear what I can expect to make. Also, if TheRealReal has a sale or marks down an item that has been sitting around, that can put it into a lower commission category so now I earn even less money on top of the discount. Not an issue at Secondi, where the commission remains the same and the schedule on which they mark unsold items down is also really clear. Payments - also excellent. I can call or e-mail to request a check and they mail it immediately. My payment check arrived by mail very promptly after I requested it. The amount was exactly what I expected to receive. Customer service - also good. They are very responsive to calls and e-mails and in general communication is very reciprocal. They know who I am at this point and have a sense of my style and what they can expect from me, and I am starting to develop a sense of what of mine sells well, and it feels like an ongoing business relationship rather than something purely transactional. They seem to have this relationship with some of their clients, too, which makes them a helpful broker for my items. For instance, I brought in a unique fancy item once and they had a customer who they knew would like it, so they called her about it, and she bought it right away. I have never encountered that with any other consignment arrangement. Item acceptance - I'm thrilled. Other places have rejected a lot of my items before and it's demoralizing because I pride myself on my wardrobe and taste. I make a point of collecting pieces that are interesting and have stories and that aren't just trendy, including handmade items, one-of-a-kind items, or items from obscure and vintage brands. Secondi doesn't just accept them but seems especially interested in them, whereas these kinds of items have been rejected before from the likes of Current Boutique, etc., and TheRealReal only accepts what's on their designer list. I have found them to be size inclusive in what they are willing to take - With a few exceptions my items are usually L/14 or XL/16 and, while Current Boutique stuck their nose up at these sizes, Secondi took them eagerly. They also accepted a 1X blazer I brought in. Sales - Almost all my stuff sells, and a lot of it sells without having to be marked down first. Interestingly, it's the higher end and/or

Loved this spot! The clothes were very high end which also meant they were very expensive, though reasonable for the brands. The staff was very friendly and happy to help. I love that they have an online store, I’ll definitely be using that to ship my purchases

This store does not cater to women of size at all. We called in advance to ask if they had plus sizes and they said yes so we drove in from va. (We did have another event in dc that night). They proceeded to explain why they didn't have plus size markers and that "plus size women don't like to shop".

I come to DC once a year for a conference. Last year or shopped at Secondi with no issue bought a purse. This year I browsed and decided to purchase a small bracelet. It was $15.00. I opted to scan my credit card, and the cashier, a late 30' s early 40s woman asked to see my ID before I scanned. Puzzled, I showed her my ID. I felt somewhat humiliated. But continued with my purchase nonetheless and walked out. My colleague who was with me, and non-black, said to me" I thought that you were being discriminated against! Who asks for an ID for a $15 purchase, and seeing as though you still put in your pin when you scanned your card"? And then she grabbed your card to compare the the ID ???? She continued .."we go 7-Eleven and all these fast food places around here and it comes out to more than $15 and they never ask for ID cards because you scan and enter your pin. What was her problem? ". She said if you call and tell them, they will say " we ask for ID for everyone! The bank doesn't even ask for ID if you have entered your pin after scanning your card for withdraws less than 100. 00??? This shop needs to realize the people you hire , or have at the counter and interact with customers represent your business. I will never go there again!!
