As a shopping experience you can find what you need quickly in a matter of minutes. As a human experience it's dreadful. You have these weird top flight security bozos here who will profile the average individual for stealing when you haven't "stolen" anything. This happened to me today when trying to get cans of cat food for my ill pet.
This is a slums driven supermarket through and through, so I get the staff is on edge...however...normal customers should not be profiled for things they brought with the receipt at hand. I'm giving this place a 2 out of 5. You can find way better supermarkets within inner city DC or Maryland who aren't this foolish.

If I could give 0 stars…. This Safeway is notorious for selling expired food products. And also RECALLED food products. I got terrible food poisoning from a Sargento crackers and cheese platter I bought from here. As for the expired products, who thinks to check the expiration on gum? Yes, I bought expired gum. I bought this packet of gum in May, expiration says January. They tryna kill us yall. Also, check for molded fruit before buying. They will try to hide the jacked up ones at the bottom. After many failed tries shopping here I’ll just have to go further to get better quality and get treated better. Finally, they will racially profile you. My boyfriend has been followed more times than I can count. They might as well just shut this location down.

It's ok for getting a few things that you can carry or that wiil fit into a basket bcuz they are extremely low on Safeway carts! And it's been this way for months! The carts are scattered all around the neighborhoods. Safeway should use one of their trucks and collect them to bring them back to the store.

This is the worst Safeway !!!! Do not fry chicken in fish oil it makes the chicken smell and taste fishy . They need to hire some new people . The chicken was stale and fishy smh Safeway at Potomac is better .

I bought a fruit bowl $18.99, nice looking fruit , look really fresh. Went home to make fresh juice when I got near the bottom of the bowl it was watermelon light and dark pink sour stale tasting very dissatisfied. I should have taken a photo.

Store ghetto as ever. Y’all never open on time but always wanna close early. Apparently they close at 9:50pm and not 10pm. Wanted 1 item and be out at 9:50 and they talking about they closed. When I’m outside at the time of
Opening though , i can’t come in til 30 minutes. Y’all should definitely change the hours online and on the door then.

This Safeway has it's issues, however, most days when I visit early in the morning there are no issues. Today was one of those days, in and out without issue or someone checking my receipt after they saw me pay for my items :)!!!

Little cute girl with dreads in the pharmacy RUDE and leaving out 2 different medications(which made me miss 4 doses because I couldn’t go back until the next day) because she has an attitude about lord knows what & the African woman lying to make up for her mistakes. Lied and said my prescription sent some where else I have all my paperwork the all were sent there. I will be back to talk to the supervisor. Pharmacist should warm and greeting it’s bad enough we’re already sick the last thing we need is someone being rude and nasty and disrespectful slamming my medication hitting the computer extra hard like that’s going to hurt me. Just ignorance she needs to find a new occupation since clearly she hates that one !
