Very disappointing store , not only did I feel like I entered a jail going through security gates entering and exiting. But I also witnessed a disturbing interaction at the Pharmacy the clerks Jacqueline and Denise were yelling and rude & nasty to a customer. The customer was calm and didn't disrespect them just requesting a status on her prescriptions. This location is run down their public bathroom is setup like a dirty porta potty also. Corporate really needs to visit this location and retrain the entire staff!!!

Everything was always super good but today I had to go do a market in my Uber application and I finished shopping, everything was fine and when I came out the man from security told me to come with him and he started to check me if I were a thief and I told him not to touch me and he started taking everything out of my suitcase because he said I hadn't checked in for something and he even took out his handcuffs to intimidate me but the one who owes nothing is afraid I called a girl to check my payment receipt and according to him there were some oranges that were not on the receipt, which was false because they were in the order but the system put it with another name in the end I ended up apologizing for what happened, what a bad experience, thanks to the young woman who appears in the video who knew that They are Uber purchases and he told me that everything was fine but the security is racist because of the way he acts.

We don’t live too close to this Safeway but it is in walking distance. Yesterday, we tried to do some shopping there and will definitely not be going back. The aisles are narrow and people are crammed into them with entitled space attitude. The organization of product is off which makes it difficult to find things (if they are available). The security guard has his nose in his phone and there were no available carts. The front door was broken and someone left their dog tied up in front of it. All in all, not a pleasant experience. We will continue to shop at Harris teeter or drive to the Georgetown location once again.

I mean, I got one tub of ice cream after being taken there at 4am. Maybe not the neighborhood for a store to have any operating hours.

The security guard stereotyped Latinos as shoplifters. He said my backpack was empty when I came in so he checked my backpack and found nothing. I asked him if he do that with everyone and he said only when they look suspicious. So I come here twice or three times a week but I guess I will walk the extra block to Harris Teeter from now on.

Low rating due to high prices. Prices have skyrocketed in the past few months, after the security gate was installed. I've been a longtime customer but am looking for a new grocery store.

I don’t know how it took me that long to put a review here… this store is convenient to me for its location, when I don’t have much time to go elsewhere in a busy schedule. But that is really the ONLY good thing about it. Service is terrible, they’re out of stock of many products and their explanation about it is non-sense: the truck delivers every other day but they don’t know what exactly is in it. People are rude, not helpful at all, self check-out is a nightmare, they have no clue about what ID is available when you buy alcohol (pretending a foreign passport or a green card are not available - which is against the law. I have been coming twice to 3 times a week for 5 years and there is not a single time it has been a good customer experience. Not even mentioning how the store is not clean. Not even mentioning how staff who are supposed to help you with override are most of the time too busy doing personal stuff on their cellphones and let you wait for almost 10 minutes (that was tonight) to be there for you. Not even mentioning many other reasons we should definitely consider going anywhere else, even far, to avoid frustrating time… Too bad 1 star is the minimum rate when you would easily give them 5 skulls as a negative rate!

Believe this is a Kriger brand store. Reminds me of it from back home. Here you have every grocery you need at decent price plus some toiletries and things.
Cleanliness and modernness of the store is low.

Not a fun experience. Easy spot to grab paper towels or basics in the city but if you are looking for food, I recommend walking the block or two to Streets or YES market. This location is always crazy and the lines are always long. I tend to avoid this location if I can.

At this store, the vibe is cold, much like the meat that's not properly sold. Rude staff meet you at the door, while spoiled goods are a common lore. The produce, though, it's somewhat fine, but from the floor, it often dines. So, wash it well, if in your cart it lands. In a pinch, it's okay, but not the best of plans. If you seek a better feast, Harris Teeter's down the road at least. A brighter choice with less despair, for quality food handled with care.

If I could rate this store below a one star I would. The manager was disgustingly rude, I asked her were there any available bathrooms because the 1 stall that is available for the whole store was DISGUSTING!! Poop everywhere, urine everywhere, no napkins. Feces were on the toilet paper. My question is, if there are no bathrooms available, how are the employees washing their hands properly?? I cannot believe a manager was so rude at a Safeway, especially at this location. I’m so disappointed and taken aback by the lack of customer service. Thursday February 1st was the evening that I crossed the person that makes me feel comfortable shopping here. Such a shame.
This part is an edit: because I’m thinking of calling corporate. I’m really beyond offended by being treated so nastily, especially when I was kind and obviously in distress. And to be treated so nasty and greeted with energy like that makes me wonder how someone like this got promoted to run a store with such intimidating and hurtful behavior.
