The store allows dogs to be in the shopping carts. Called Corporate Office and clearly they don't care because no one from the store called me back. This is the exact reason why I stop shopping at this store. Poor customer service and high prices must be the new normal

I’m leaving this review due to the water bottle packs being stored outside in the sun. This is very very highly toxic to sell water bottles that are stored in the heat and sun. You are basically poisoning a whole community. Please ensure all water bottles delivers are stored inside in a cool area. Thank you!

My medication was over $100 but the pharmacist recommended Good Rx and it dropped to $15. Thanks for your help.

I've been a patron of this location for 16 years and it has gone downhill as far as management and employees, the current managers is openly contempt to customer's and many of the employees are rude and untrained which is not surprising considering the high turnover most have no problem openly how much they dislike their job and management.
There is a new WHOLE FOODS opening a few blocks away and I can not wait.

This morning I came to the pharmacy to pick up my medicine. For starters the pharmacist who was here today is very rude! This isn’t the first time she’s had an attitude. She seems to especially treat black people like this. She has no manners and is very rude when speaking to you.The other pharmacists who used to be here never treated me like this and I’ve been coming to this pharmacy for years. This is very disappointing. If you don’t enjoy your job then quit or transfer to another store. Don’t take it out on sickly and paying customers. She showed no empathy and gave me no solution. Even though someone from her team said my medicine would be ready for pick up. She blamed them for giving out the wrong information and didn’t even take responsibility for a mistake on their behalf.

Do NOT go this Safeway Pharmacy. The Indian/Asian female pharmacist is beyond rude and condescending to African American customers. Moreover, she doesn't seem to realize that patients need their medicine and it's a serious issue. I had my physician fill a prescription for me on a Wednesday. By the next Monday, it still wasn't ready. When I called to inquire, she rudely responded that my physician's office had her waiting for fifteen minutes and she "just didn't have time to wait." A direct number for my physician is listed, so I didn't understand. Then, when I went to finally retrieve the prescription, the pharmacist was talking to an older African American gentleman in front of me so badly, I that he threatened to file suit against her and Safeway. I heard the entire conversation and it was definitely the pharmacist. I'm shocked and appalled. I've never been treated so horribly by a pharmacist in my life and I would never trust them to handle my medicine or care again. Do NOT come here! Also, they never have a pharm tech or team working, just a single pharmacist, always reminding the customers how busy she is and how little the customers matter.

This is a review for the pharmacy, not the grocery store. Used to get all of our meds here, but will be switching because of the issues. I don't generally blame the individual pharmacists, but seems like they are understaffed and overworked, so there's always a problem. You either wait for a really long time, hear that they haven't received your medication (when they have), or the pharmacist is burned out and rude. Recently had an issue where we needed meds urgently and they took all day to fill the prescription. When they did, they contacted me to let me know they finally filled it, but when I went to pick up the meds, they were closed and the pharmacist refused to help. That's lousy. Go somewhere else.

So here's a double review. It's really all about Safeway via Instacart. Instacart has been a dream during these hard times with the virus and for those of us that are compromised so sometimes Instacart comes in handy. Maybe a little over price but their are transparent. They tell you prices are higher then in store. Which is good business practice. Transparency is important part of business. Well Safeway in any state in any city is always a touch and go store. You will always get the bad with the good but mostly the bad at Safeway. But Safeway have better prices than the other major Grocery in DC Giant. So large purchases I use Safeway for the deals they give. Now. One particular winters/ Springy day I order 262.13 with of groceries. My month budget. Supposed be delivered by 1pm to 4pm. instacart usually gives four hour window unless you need it express it's extra. So idc I have to sometimes wait. If I needed that bad I'd go to the store. This day, I place my orders and for those of you who use Instacart the shopping process with your shopper can be a rather tedious one with the "I can't finds " and "do you want a replacement " and " there out of stock" for twoHour while the shopper shops for 32 items. It's almost a chore. Because you've already told them when you shopped what to replace and what to refund. Why are you bothering read your screen!!!! Anyway, I message back and forth messages with the shopper she checked out. Then I was notified she was one the way!! Yay!!! 1.5 hours later no delivery. Call Instacart oh she's in her way. Says out for delivery and I said yes, but that was almost 2 hours ago. We'll message the delivery person. Ok. I say. So then I get notified your order has be delivered per your instructions. Finally!!!! I go out the front door and nothing. I look at the back door and nothing. Look at both side of my neighbors and nothing. Not happy. So, I call and Instacart says oh it's been delivered yeah but not to me!!!! What the holy hell where is my delivery. Usually depending on your shopper they text you a picture of where they left the order. Not this shopper. Instacart says. It's says delivered but we can get Safeway to answer the phone. 4 hours past it's midnight no delivery. No more customer support because hey they are closed. So callMe stupid. But I still had faith. But it betrayed me. Never got my food, and Instacart and Safeway could decide who was going to refund me. 3 months later I'm still waiting. And call weekly. Just beware. Safeway might have good deals. But they are just bad business and would now rather pay a few cents more at giant then pay for items I'll never get. Safeway in DC NW canBite me!!

Today was my first visit to this location. I usually go to the location near Petworth because it's closer to my route to and from work. I forgot all about going to the store right up until I passed this supermarket. So I came in to purchase a gallon of milk, some bananas, a nice bag of oranges, and a couple of candy of tuna. I will use the tuna to make some sandwiches for tonight's dinner. The store appeared to be clean and everything in its place. Also the shelves were pretty well stocked and I had no problems at all finding what I needed. I even received some help from a friendly employee who directed me to where the restroom was located. The checkout process was quick and easy as well, and I really had no issues with this store. The only difference between this store and the one in Petworth is the store's age. The e located in Petworth is just a couple of years old. Hey they both even have Starbucks if you're a fanatic! Parking was also easy and there were plenty of open spaces available when I arrived.

I search for better milk every store and couldn't find it, At Last I found it in this store Safeway, one of the employee in the milk area told me I can't take more than certain amount. She said she has to save for the other clients that's not even in this store. The employees need to be trained about business if you put product on the Shelf to be sold they need to be sold. This is just an advice for the management. This happened June 3/ 22 at 8:45 a.m. not on the quarantine time.

Ya know, life is full of unexpected moments - both ups and downs. Some days, you find yourself in quite a pickle - running 'round town, on your day off, trying to find that "certain something" on a *very* tight scheduled. Another thing you don't expect? To find an angel at the grocery store. But *both* of those things happened to me today. I had to ask a stranger for help. Sure, he worked there - but he went above-and-beyond his job to make me feel like a valued customer. That's the kind of impression that leaves me feeling grateful in a way that won't soon fade. Thank you Dante. Thank you Safeway. You guys are the best. And I'm proud to call you my hometown grocer.

Pharmacy staff are completely unprofessional. I was told to return for a second dose of the Moderna COVID-19 vaccine without having been given a formal appointment or a specific time to show up; “just show up on May 1st anytime,” I was told. Well, imagine my dismay after showing up this morning at 9:00 AM only to be told that they only administer the vaccine between 10:00 AM and 3:00 PM. This would have been good information to have been told on APRIL 3RD, AT THE TIME OF MY FIRST DOSE! This is a waste of people’s time and unimaginably professional. Not to mention a good way to undermine the efforts of public health professionals who already are having problems losing patients to follow-up for the second dose.
