As this Room and Board was in downtown DC, I did not exist the store to be so large. It occupies all 3 floors of the corner building it occupies and there are many pieces of furniture, rugs, accessories, lamps, etc. I really like the mid- century modern/ contemporary furniture and the textiles (pillows, rugs, linens) are terrific. If you're in the market for this style of furniture or home goods, this is a great stop to make.

We made a trip out to Room and Board in DC on Nov 7 2023 and were greeting on the 3rd floor by Jay Krich. He was such a joy. The epitome of great customer service. We need more Jays in the world. He seemed eager to assist, never pushy and even got us our couch before Thanksgiving after trying his hardest to make it happen. He followed up with us via phone call early the next day to let us know about our sectional coming early. We sent him an email asking to confirm the color of our sectional so we can purchase additional items for it and he was quick to respond and even attached a picture for us! How awesome is that?He never over promised and gave us detailed information on our purchase. His warm smile, sense of humor and outstanding customer service is something rare in retail and we see you Jay! You represent Room and Board in the highest standards. Gracias! -Lazaro

Four levels of showroom covering the needs of an entire home. Much bigger than the Bethesda location. Great value but not cheap. Helpful but not overbearing staff. Recommended!

How to begin? This is a wonderful store, and shopping there is a fabulous experience! Everyone from the reception we received to our designer, Daren, was vested in finding exactly what we needed. I must add that every single chair in the dining section upstairs was comfortable, which made it very hard to choose. And, unlike other stores, we were able to see all of the available dining chairs in one area of one room, all lined up to try. We thought the task would be daunting, but with Daren's help, we chose <exactly> the right chair, the Afton. He even looked up, online, the table we had purchased at another store to make sure it would work with the chairs. When the chairs arrived, they were in perfect condition, and very securely packaged. Thank you Daren most sincerely, and Room and Board!

Their furniture is expensive (but not as expensive as some of their competitors) but high quality and the customer service and delivery has been 10/10 including providing for free pick up and delivery when we decided to change the color of our couch and size of our dresser.

Extremely rude store employees who told me the store was closed when I walked in at 4pm and then as I was as confused they ignored me rather than saying they were kidding. Wished me a good day as I walked out but there is nothing like a first impression and this interaction when I walked in the doors initially with a smile completely ruined my experience. Just bought a new home looking to furnish the entire thing these guys won’t be getting my business.

This was our first time ordering an expensive piece of furniture from Room and Board. Our $1500 table was delivered with chips showing in the marble. Their delivery man recorded it and called while in my home. I asked Room and Board to send me a pic before delivering the next attempt. Twice they never did. They sent a white stone marble with no graining in it...something I had asked for. I still have my expensive chipped table and NO ONE from Room and Board offered me a discount on the damaged table. I wonder if I lived in a different zip code, would I have been dismissed. Buyers Beware. Disappointed.

Up until now, I was a big fan of Room and Board. I am not feeling so good about them at the moment though. I have a dining room table with a leaf from them which no longer stays together completely. I called and emailed pictures of the issue, and after quite a while was finally contacted by someone who was able to help. The part was probably lost during our recent move, so it is not their fault. However, given that I have spent over $25,000 on their furniture and rugs, I would have thought that they would send me the part at no cost. I have no choice but to pay the extra $100 plus on it, but I am disappointed and surprised that a high end company that prides itself on customer service would charge me for the part. I have recommended this company to family and friends, but in the future I am not sure that I will, and I am no longer so eager to order from them for myself.

Quality, style and durability. Easy to assemble and breakdown. Had some pieces for decades and just bought a new piece.

Room & Board is an American modern furniture company. The 14th street location has four stories and each floor takes you on a journey. You're walking through a room but it doesn't feel like the typical showroom where you can't picture yourself owning the stiff leather sectional couch. Instead, each layout or piece of furniture feels comfortable. The salespersons do not try to over sell or follow the customer around the store. It's a very professional and relaxed environment. The top floor has a roof deck with outdoor furniture. The client walks outside and can try the furniture. They're able to sit outside on their next patio set and see what it feels like. The overall experience is great and the furniture is durable. I ordered a kitchen rug and it still looks new after a year of heavy foot traffic. My couch is stylish and comfortable-- the new pillows look great.

Customer service is actually good but products are over priced junk. Bought a bedroom set and the design of the bed causes it to squeak every time you roll over. Customer service had Dr. Furniture come out twice - one time screws were missing in the bed, the next time installed slat pads (why were these not installed originally?). For the price you pay, the quality is not what it should be. Beware.

First, we had a guy helping us who like was non responsive at the Logan circle room and board. Then I ordered online for July 7 and the furniture store confirmed via email and when I called they told me July 7 was unavailable. Not good service for the price and wouldn’t buy here again.

Staff was super helpful. Peter helped us out and would highly recommend him!! We didn't feel pressure to buy anything. Peter helped us decide on a couch that fit our home and budget.
