I am a tenant at the Press House located at 331 N. NE, Washington, DC. I have been here two years now and let me convey to you the wonderful job Marvin is doing. He always takes the time out to help the residents here at the Press House, especially the elderly and disable. In so much he goes beyond his duties to see if you are well taken care of as a resident at the Press House. No matter what he is doing he seems to assist you with any problem or issue you have. Moreover he has great patience and concern. He is a big cornerstone that makes the day to day operations here at the Press House run smoothly and efficiently. I would highly recommend Marvin for a pay raise and /or any higher position he can obtain I am sure he deserves it.Your SincerelyYusuf A. Rahman

When I arrived at the Press House to assist my daughter in transferring to a larger apartment, I would like to note the professionalism of Mr. Dunno and his office staff. Also, Mike and his maintenance team were quick and efficient in responding to my daughter's needs and fixed everything in a timely manner. Overall, the Press House has a great staff and they truly care about their tenants.

Updated 12/2023Unfortunately our experience at Press House has gone drastically downhill since the first few months of living in the building. The staff has always been very pleasant and try their hardest but the extent of the building issues has become unacceptable. The hot water has stopped working for days at a time many times, the water has been shut off completely many times, often with little notice, and the rooftop amenities are poorly cared for and maintained. These issues have persisted over an extended period of time. It is such a shame because this building has so much potential & could have been such a positive experience. I feel bad for the staff having to deal with all of this.Written 8/2022We’ve been in Press House for about a month & it’s been a phenomenal experience from our first tour through move in & everything in between. Marvin is the best leasing agent I’ve ever worked with & has been incredibly helpful throughout our entire experience thus far. The building staff are incredibly helpful, attentive & the kindest people. The building events are fun (shout to Four Corners Entertainment for the awesome comedy show) & the amenities are first class.

Such a disappointment. This is such a beautiful building with great design in a blossoming neighborhood. Poor quality construction, lax security, and recurring issues mean its potential isn’t realized. There are constant water leaks, even in the main lobby, and residents go without hot water or heat for weeks on end. There are good staff who do their best, but they can’t fix a building that was built on the cheap. Stay away.

I need to warn you before moving here... I cannot recommend enough that you look elsewhere.Moved in May 20023. Mainly seemed fine. We did have some cleanliness issues here & there. And I also started to notice a lot of strange/shady people in the building. There were frequent instances of the hallway smelling like weed. And one day my daughter found a little bag in the hallway... with some weed in it... great. Apparently, it got bad enough for some tenants that they created an association to address safety issues...But since fall, it has been going downhill rapidly. The trash room being absolutely disgusting. Chutes not working, people (some) leaving their trash in open paper bag to rot. I have seen pizza bits & chickens weeks laying on the floor in there... the only pic I have unfortunately is a "clean" day. Then the hallways have been increasingly more disgusting. During the holidays there was trash right there in front of some units for 2 or 3 days...Then add the water leeks, on my floor making the carpet a squishy mess. Add the hot water issues in the dead of winter... great not being able to shower or clean your kids. And it didn't last for a couple days... that was a couple weeks of issues. Finally, the last straw for me, my apartment has been smelling like an ashtray for a WHOLE month. It wasn’t exactly the first time but I notified management after a few days when it didn’t go away at all. Their response has been more than underwhelming… first they offered to close some vents in the apartment. The maintenance people did acknowledge the smell at least. It didn’t do anything. I went to speak to the leasing person directly and what I got was “we are doing everything we can but there is not much we can do…” great, thank you very much. Beside asking ME what they can do, they have done nothing since. Just the addition of a very strong citronella smell that I expect is to cover the smoke. But they did not answer when asked if it was there doing or not… Maybe whoever is smoking is just spraying this crap into the vent. No idea.To not be all negative, the front staff that has been here since I moved in has always been nice and the building could be a great place to live. But paying $3k a month for luxury leaving to live without the luxury and with more problems than I have ever had before… no thank you. Hard pass. I cannot wait to get out.

Don’t live here. Once management was taken over by Bozzuto the building went to hell. The building was built with cheap materials so things are starting to constantly break after three years. Junior staff and maintenance is so nice and helpful but upper management is always in a meeting and never gets back to you for serious questions or concerns. The lack of communication to the whole building when building wide issues arise (like our hot water breaking in the middle of winter) is disrespectful and completely unprofessional. Another example, I have emailed management everyday for a month concerning cigarette smell in my apartment and not a soul has reached out or replied to my emails. The level of disrespect from the management team is astounding.

Editing my review after my mentioned issues have been resolved. Still I think management can take note of other luxury apartment buildings in the area and enforce tighter security. However, Keily has worked diligently to address our tenants concerns and the front desk, especially Jalen shows up everyday with great customer service and helps residents with their packages. As more upscale retail comes to the area in 2024, I’m sure some of our issues will be eliminated. Overall, a fun and vibrant place to live.Pros:Large spacious floorplans, especially for DCFloor to ceiling windowsGenerous amenities and rooftopLuxury amenitiesLocation Location Location

Home Away from Home: I lived at Press House for 2 years when I returned from Boston and from the beginning, leasing agent, Marvin was a sheer delight. Upon my move in day, we were in communication, Marvin was waiting to greet me, and I felt welcomed. I had a lovely 2-balcony unit (not on the hotel side when it was there but the other side). The gym is great! Relaxing on the rooftop was among my favorite things to do when I had nothing to do (rare but enjoyable). Jaelyn is a delight! Randy is very helpful. Rita goes out of her way. I really loved my stay at Press House and am grateful for my two years' there. I heard of issues from tenants but didn't have those issues personally. My concern is that hard working people (like those mentioned) are lumped in with issues outside of their control, yet we must all account for experiences had. I speak well of Press House because I had a great experience there. If Press House wants better reviews, they create better experiences for the masses. I stand by my favorable review because I had a favorable experience, but I feel for those who aren't having a good time. I know it takes a lot to create an engaging community and Press House can do it (again)! It all worked for me, but I too bring a smile and joy to every situation. Glad I came but time to go!Pros: staff; convenient location, amenities are pleasant (gym, rooftop, game room); balconies; price was reasonable given the market (yes, I paid full fare, and I know the market rates); access to union market (love the acai bowls there at South Block).Cons: read other reviews (different experiences have been had by many); area is going through what many urban cities are going through (I heard the sirens more than I wanted to hear them); the pets and smoking can be a bit much at times.

Rita B is a true asset to the community at Press House apartments. She consistently goes the extra mile to fulfill all residents' needs, exuding warmth and hospitality. Her deep understanding of the apartment complex's intricacies is impressive, and she stops at nothing to ensure that every resident and guest receives nothing less than a 5-star service.
