Politics and Prose is an independent bookstore devoted to cultivating community and strengthening the common good. It is a favorite bookstore, described as a wonderful and excellent book store, and a better version of the old mom and pop bookstores. The store offers plenty of good books, with an entire area of sale books where customers can find gems. If a book is not on the shelf, they can order pretty much any book imaginable for pickup with no delivery cost. The employees are knowledgeable and the staff is helpful. It is more than just a bookstore. The location has a nice cafe in the basement, an excellent coffee shop and cafe downstairs with fresh, tasty fare, perfect for a pastry or a glass of wine. It is a great place to sit and read or browse, though the cafe gets very busy and seating is at a premium. Most importantly, Politics and Prose has an incredible offering of classes and events each season, with great author readings and a wide range of topics for all interests. It is a thinking person's bookstore and a wonderful local establishment to support in-person or virtually.
