What kind of a bank doesn’t have a notary? The guy said it to me like it’s common knowledge…

Many of the reviews on this page seem to deal with people trying to cash checks for relatively large sums. They do not state that they are PNC customers or that they have ever done business with this brach for anything else. I have been a customer here for 20+ years, I have three bank accounts, our mortgage, my business account, a home equity line of credit, and have financed two cars with them. I have never received anything but professional service. The staff is courteous and friendly and they always have time to address any issue I have had, no matter how big or small. I recommend the Adams Morgan branch without reserve, when you sit down with any of their representatives you will be treated with respect and like a human.

This branch has horrible customer service. Other branches seem to have more competent staff. Going to DuPont in the future.

Worst customer service from Charles Mills. They don’t have enough money when you want to close your account. When asking for confirmation that they will order your money they don’t provide any confirmation and you have to take their word that they won’t waste your time again. The manager Charles Mills was very rude, didn’t even want to offer a business card when asked for one. Worst bank branch!!!!

I banked here for several years. Most of the staff at this location was courteous, but there was one banker that called me over and over and over again, day after day, trying to get me to sign up for a credit card. I finally had to go into the bank to confront him about it face to face, because I repeatedly asked him over the phone to leave me alone. Even after speaking to him in person, he continued to call me. Sometimes twice a day. It was because of him that I left PNC.

I would give 0 but not a option. I guess they thought I was shady I've been working and was dirty but they refused to cash a check written out to me even with 2 forms of proper identifycation. Said there was a alert on the account. I called customer who I jus left their house & wrote the check saying bank was trying to call and verify. He said no missed calls or any attempt to contact him via cell or hm phone. I will never use this PNC again!! Went to another location in DC with no problems

Maybe I just have bad luck with DC banks... I opened an account in person at this PNC location a couple of weeks ago. Their instant issue debit card machine wasn't working, but I was going to be traveling, so they said that they would rush a card to me via regular mail. Said they would waive the $25 fee, since it was their machine that was broken. However, there was no manager there to waive the fee, so I was told that I could pay it and just stop by to be reimbursed when I got back into town. I called the day I returned, and left my name and number when they said no one was available. Called again today, was told that they couldn't refund the fee, and that I should call customer service. It's not the $25 that bothered me, but refusing to address the issue or call me back was annoying. PNC Customer Service was able to resolve the issue in about five minutes. Cheers to them! Stay away from this branch though, unless you appreciate lies and slow service. Columbia Heights branch is much better.

I opened up an account with PNC about a year ago. I've been to this branch a handful of times and it has been perfectly fine. A review of PNC in general (with a couple references to this location): The good: 1. No ATM fees. If you use another bank's ATM, PNC will reimburse you. Going overseas? Ditto. Can't say the same of Bank of America, that's for sure. 2. Branches are open on the weekends, including this one in Adams Morgan. And when I mean open, I mean all day Saturday and a reasonable amount of time on Sunday. 3. I've never had to wait more than a minute or two in line at this branch plus a couple others I have gone to in Columbia Heights and Penn Quarter. The Adams Morgan branch is generally pretty quiet and efficient. It's so quiet that I wonder why PNC hasn't closed it down yet (and keeping my fingers crossed that it doesn't). 4. Friendly customer service. I've had to call PNC a couple times and they've been very polite and been able to effectively help me. 5. Free money transfers to non-PNC accounts. So why not 5 stars? PNC isn't national. Obviously this is not a problem while traveling (due to no ATM fees), but if I were to move back to CA (or some other western state), I'd most likely have to switch banks. Also their website isn't ideal. Sometimes it loads rather slowly. Overall I'm quite happy with PNC and have no complaints at all about this PNC location.

There's been alot of changes at PNC. Customer service is really not so good, friendly but as helpful as a brick wall. My first overdraw in two years, it's by 10 dollars, is my last purchase AND the phone balance said it was still a positive balance after said purchase AND I made a deposit the next day...3 charges for $34 and 6 for $36 for a grand total of $318 bringing my -$12 overdraw to -$330. Now I'm a reasonably well educated person but I cannot for the life of me figure out a logic to their methodology other then maximizing charges. I've already opened a new checking account and will be closing my PNC account ASAP.
