Ridiculously crowded. Patrons have developed a method of grabbing a cable station and doing 20 different exercises on one cable machine. This is supposedly to hog one station, do an entire workout on the one station, and not have to wait for a different machine. Most idiots there take an eternity to work out because they can't look away from their cellphones.

Do not buy a membership at this location as this business is unethical and will try to steal your money in any way. I spent close to a year trying to close my account and was charged close to $400 on two separate false charges. I made my account in February and called to close my account a few months later because I was going abroad. The employee confirmed my account was closed. A few months later when I realized my account was still active and I was being charged, I called to cancel and they refused. I asked for my account number to transfer and they again refused or would give me the wrong number. At this point, they knew I was in another city so they kept insisting I had to travel 4 hours to come in and cancel (I had the premium membership so all I needed was the number to transfer). I was sick of this and cut their use on my account and was soon after charged a lump sum of $179.92 on my credit card. I disputed the charge, but the money still went through. I called the gym in January and just desperately asked them to close my account and the owner demanded I pay again as they received no money. I believed the owner and paid again only to realize that the money had left my account two separate times. Since then, I've called several times and employees have confirmed receiving both payments, but they refuse to refund me. The manager won't even bother helping me or refunding me. The greed will end up ruining this place. Please be cautious of what places you make an account at and also where you give your banking information. Not worth the time, effort, and financial drain. Also, they kept denying they can't close an account over the phone, but the manager was able to one he got $400 out of me?

Very convenient. Cordial staff. Updated machines. Superb Black Card Spa. It is in Chinatown though, if you live in DC you know what that means. If you're from out of town, prepare for impromptu live entertainment.
The members are great people that really focus on their workout. This is one Planet Fitness where the members actually USE the equipment they pick up.

I wanted to update my review, after leaving a previous review and receiving a response from the owner who claimed they would address the issue, I reached out to the email the suggested to contact for help with the incident. I reported being harassed and disrespected by employees and Lauren(not the owner) response we are sorry that you feel that way, complete negligence when it comes to safety. Please be aware that although it says harassment isn’t tolerated in planet fitness actually it is and it is not taken seriously, nor is aggressive behavior towards members (7th street location) worst experience I’ve had after having multiple experiences at several planet fitness

Greetings this gym is the worst planet fitness I’ve ever been too, and I’ve been to several. I’ve made a complaint with the general mangers about harassment and unprofessionalism. I asked for corporates contact information and the assist manager who claimed he was a the highest manager which was a lie refused to assist me with it. I had to contact another gym to get the regional manager contact information. In addition I was in a heated argument with Charlie who works there and thought that she had the right to not only talk publicly about my concerns at the desk but also argued with me back and fourth about a very small issue further telling me about how I’m not the only one at the gym etc. I since contacted corporate and they claimed that the owner would address these issues, have yet to hear back. In addition the general manger response to the incident was she would handle it next week. They are completely negligent when it comes to safety issues and disrespect to paying club members. In America I’ve noticed that businesses have no respect for the patron, in America they think that because they are corporation that they can get away with whatever and treat the community who makes there business thrive any kind of way. I share this here for others to be aware of this gyms negligence, and in addition to let you know, that this way of doing business will be addressed in places of power if you have been a victim of negligence or disrespect those days are passing. ENOUGH

Great facility, clean equipment, kind staff. Paying extra for the black card membership to use the spa is 100% worth it too.

The place is good, especially when u think how little you pay...female restroom are ok..thou my husband said male was really a mess. It has lot of idle equipment that could be move to make more room for people working out on matts. There's almost no room to work out if you don't use machines...only a tiny spot ( 5 matt max) and It's always overcrowded.

I come to this club and I'm pretty satisfied with it, although it does have a couple of major cons (hence 3 stars, not 5):
PROS:
1. Low cost of membership. In that respect, no other gym can compete with them.
2. Good location of this particular club. It's right at the Gallery Place metro, as soon as you come up the escalator. Not a very safe or clean neighborhood, but you don't have to walk more than 5 steps from the metro to enter the gym.
3. The equipment is new and there's lots of it, and the showers are better than in many other gyms.
You have to bring your own towel and toiletries, but I suppose that's how they are able to afford such low monthly fees.
CONS:
- They don't have fitness coaches on sight. Their monthly membership explicitly includes the perk of being able to get assistance and coaching. But this location doesn't have any. I think they should give discounted monthly fees for locations that aren't able to provide all of the features as advertised.
- Way too much space is given to elliptical equipment and treadmills and not enough for strength-building equipment. There are four Smith machines, and they are always in use, so there is wait time. There isn't a single squat rack at this location, so people are using Smith machines as squat racks (which is arguably dangerous as it doesn't allow freedom of movement and can lead to injuries). But then there are so many treadmills, and they take an enormous amount of space but I've never seen more than a quarter of them in use at once. Usually, most of them are empty. People don't come to the gym to jog if they can jog outside. They come to the gym to use equipment they don't have at home. So it would be great if this location could get rid of half of their treadmills and put some squat racks and a couple more Smith machines there instead.
Update:
The club owner responded to my reply, which is always appreciated. However, the suggestion made to me was to check my home club schedule of free classes on the website. Well, when I do, I get an empty page with an error message saying, "It appears your club has not set up an online schedule. Please check with staff members at your club to learn more about training sessions offered near you." And, last I checked with the associates on-site, they don't have any classes at this location. This, unfortunately, reinforces my earlier point: if you can't provide everything that is advertised as included in the package, then perhaps there should be a discount.

Planet fitness is a scam! I’ve never even been to the gym , after” canceling “ my membership or so I thought I still receive payments. This is outrageous and unacceptable for a company. I’ve seen multiple people talk about this . Do not get a planet fitness membership it is a scam & you will regret it .
