This location was very well kept, neat and clean. The atmosphere was so calming to the point where you could literally sit down and enjoy a good conversation while enjoying a cool healthy drink. A young black dark skin young woman assisted me, who spoke with a slight accent. She was very pleasant and professional. Sorry for describing her this way but I forgot her name and I wanted to recognize her for a job well done, kudos to her.

When I joined this gym, it was wonderful, and I was excited about it opening up in my community. I have recently become disappointed because of the behavior of some of the members. I, along with others, consider changing gyms. I have complained about members saving machines. Several members will place a tower on one machine, a water bottle on another machine, and be working out on another machine. Staff seems not to know how to handle this situation. I have seen other members be intimated by the rude members. If this continues to be unaddressed, I will be closing my membership

I am at Ivy City everyday except Tuesday and Thursday and if you see me please speak. It is a place where you create and connect with your gym family. You gain motivation, inspiration but most of all no one is there to judge you! If you are looking for a gym on this planet it's Planet Fitness!!! Safety first!
While the location is convenient and spacious; the equipment is a hazard as I have nicked my fingers and legs on broken equipment. I’ve visited this location a few times this month between the hours of 2am-5am, and each time Kelsey was behind the desk working. His customer service has been excellent despite the time of day. Other facilities that I’ve visited in the past, the worker had visible sleep in their face and lacked mannerisms, as if I disturbed their slumber. Not over here. This young man’s is bright eyed and bushy tailed, which is remarkable. It’s speaks highly to his position here at Planet Fitness. He was the first point of contact each time I’ve visited and that’s important because anyone could walk in. Nothing gets past him. The gym is well maintained and the locker rooms are kept clean, not even a piece of hair or the shower walls. Trust me, I looked. I’m quite impressed to know that work is done on the graveyard shift. He wears three hats; security guard, customer service representative/concierge, and janitor/housekeeper. What’s notable is that he’s already caught on to my patterns with respect to the hydro massage beds. I don’t even have to get up and go to the desk to let him know to restart my time. He pops his head in at the end of ten minutes and asks if I want to go again. Why are the massages only ten minutes? Great job Kelsey. I can’t get a good game of Tetris in nor can I read the books installed on the screen. I wish I could give this facility a higher rating but the equipment is hazardous. The black card membership is a little high for poor equipment.

Worst location ever! I showed up with my mom who is a Black Card owner to sign is as a guest. The front desk associate Jim said everything was fine and processed my card for a lock rental. My mom proceeded on her way as she thought everything was OKAY, since the front desk associate Jim assured me. As I am working out, another associate comes up to me and says that I have to leave. I asked why and she said “because you’re not the Black Card owner.” I gathered my things and as I proceeded to leave I asked Jim why didn’t he tell me that I wouldn’t be able to workout in the first place but he did not acknowledge me. That was very misleading of him and inconsiderate. I had to wait outside in the heat for my mom to come all the way back to this location. I then called multiple times to speak to a manager but there was always an excuse. Finally, the manager called back only to tell me that a refund would not be able to be processed. I don’t care if it was only $1.06, it’s the principle. He should’ve never went against policy and then make the guest suffer the consequences. Poor management and poor customer service. I’ll never go back here. Downtown is the way to go or private gyms!!
