On April 19th, 2023, I applied for a credit card with PenFed and I was approved. I completed the additional paper work needed along with making a deposit to meet all the requirements. Today is May 22nd, 2023 and I have NOT received my credit card.After numerous calls on:April 28thMay 3rdMay 10thMay 19thMay 22ndPenFed can't seem to get me a credit card. This has been the WORST 1st time experience with a credit union. At this point, I can NOT recommend doing business with this credit union. This is not a good way to start a banking relationship. I think I will need to take my business elsewhere at this point.Again, I can NOT recommend doing business with PenFed.

31 year member who exclusively used PenAir to finance everything. Paid on time every time yet within 2 minutes working with associate on a used car loan, received an email with the subject title: “Decisioned” with subsequent words on loan denial in the main email body. Emailed back asking for an explanation on being told one thing then being pushed off a cliff after decades of successful membership. No response. “Decisioned” Seriously PenAir you can do better than this!

They made a mistake when reversing a fraud charge at the same time they were converting from one accounting system to a new one. They put the charge back on my account and 6 months later I still cannot get anyone to actually fix it or that knows what happened to actually call me back. Their customer service reps are very low functioning and seem completely untrained. Always several transfers to someone else that I then have to re-verify with. They are a nightmare to deal with. Their banking system and mortgage/equity line system are now completely separate and don't talk to each other at all. In order to make a payment on my equity line I have to create an external payment account on their mortgage system. They also changed my equity line account number and are reporting both accounts as if I have 2 equity lines with them to the credit reporting agency. I have made multiple attempts to dispute this but to no avail. They say "it's right". They are completely incompetent.

Per my multiple ways of trying unsuccessfully to update my account email and phone number. I want PENTAGON FEDERAL CREDIT UNION immediately to cancel any continuation on this matter. I feel discrimination from the bank personnel failing to review my evidence including my Army Captain Rank O-3. I attached to this letter the confirmation number (03260627) in which you guys receive and confirm my DOD ID card, Social Security Card, Water bill receipt, DFAS My Pay Letter, VA Pay Letter, and finally, Social Security pays letter. Every time I call there is always an excuse that they are not been able to review and can't do anything for me.I am in a Joint account with my mom on the same bank with my Social Security number, email, etc. In the end, my account can't be updated. I encourage my fellow soldiers and or veterans to consider USAA and Navy Federal Credit Union has a live representative 24 hours.Very Respectfully, CPT AV Angel Hernandez.

I am not writing this review about a specific branch, as I have only dealt with this company by phone and mail. I took out an auto loan from them in August of 2012, faithfully paid all installments on time, and finished payments in July of 2017. Now, I am trading this car in and need a form indicating that the lien has been satisfied in order to pass the title to the new car dealer. I have called 3 times in a 36 hour period, each time waiting on hold for 30 minutes to talk to a human being. Each time a courteous, knowledgeable representative greeted me, listened patiently to my request, and assured me that I would receive the form within a few hours. Each time, I received nothing. This is a very simple request that other banks have handled for me in the past within minutes. It sounds like they have no system in place for this common request and come across as a mom and pop operation. Their loan rates are good, but despite the fact that they have courteous representatives, their customer service is lacking. I'm still waiting for my request to be completed and feeling very frustrated. My new car dealer is threatening to revoke this deal and I don't want to lose this car since the supply of new cars in dealerships is severely limited due to car factories shutting down because of the pandemic.

Clean facility when I entered, and staff were available for assistance. Unfortunately, I was not a member of this financial institution and the bank wouldn't cash a check or provide cash for rolled coins to non-members. The on-site ATM functions just fine, and that's about all this place is used for by my family and I.
