“My favorite thing about this place is they are kind to hardware dummies. No condescending tone no matter how clueless the customer. Plus someone always on deck to help you find something as soon as you walk in. Shelves always fully stocked -- and don't be fooled by the seemingly small size of the storefront. Plenty more supplies in back, next door in the paint store and upstairs in housewares.”
“This is a small neighborhood hardware store but they keep an impressive array of hardware, tools, paint, garden, and "lifestyle" items for most DIY projects. Where the big box stores are geared to accommodate contractors, Annie's aims for the individual and their residence. Staff is always friendly, the store is well staffed for their size so there's always someone available for questions or assistance. I really appreciate a hardware store that can still operate in the neighborhood without leveling 15 acres. Factoring in my time and general frustration with large box stores, the prices for a quick trip down the street are competitive with other options.”
“I rarely write reviews for restaurants, and have never written one for a hardware store, but the folks at Glover Park Ace Hardware have forced my hand. They carry literally anything you could hope to buy at a hardware store (and many things you wouldn't expect) and virtually every employee I've interacted with there over the years has been kind, friendly, and helpful. They have set the standard for hardware stores in the area!”
“I know there are not many neighborhood hardware stores but I appreciate having one nearby. This one has a great array of products and a nice and knowledgeable staff. I highly recommend it!”
“A hardware store like they used to be! You can get pretty much anything you need here. They also have a plant shop attached. The staff is very friendly and knowledgeable, I have always had positive experiences and left with everything I needed (and then some ?). This place is a DC classic and I highly recommend it for household needs.”
“Anton is really the star. He's knowledgeable about the products and how to apply the products. Thanks, Marcia Smithi2 I am going andThanksThanks6Thanks336”
“Very clean store and plenty of staff. Dedicated parking right in front.
I spoke with Stephen on the phone this morning and he pulled the paint and mixed it while taking my CC info and looking for a coupon for me! This isn’t the store closest to me, but I might go back for my big spring project in May because the staff seems on point.”
“I’d like to send a special thanks to Ronald for his advice, he was nice and INCREDIBLY helpful with determining which specific paint and sheen I should apply in my bathroom and foyer. At first I was a tad bit skeptical but after my painters were done I was extremely pleased!!!”
“Michael at this Georgetown store is THE BEST!! He's patient, knows his stuff, and will give it to you straight. This location gets busy, but Michael can juggle everyone at the same time and meet all of their needs. Seriously, such a skill.”
“Love store and the people who work here! Alexes is amazing, so helpful with recommendations and taking care of everyone so nicely. This is my paint store of choice!”
“The salesman was very helpful in helping me locate necessary equipment to paint my apartment. The manager carefully changed the colors of two cans of paint that I had bought weeks earlier instead of charging me for new cans based on my change of mind. It took him some time, but I was not charged. The products were as satisfactory as the excellent service.”
“Incredibly helpful staff. Was able to help me with duplicating a paint color I needed, gave some great advice, and found me the best price point. Definitely recommend!”
“I have chosen Sherwin Williams primarily due to the exceptional team and outstanding customer service they provide. Ever since I established ADC Construction here in DC, I have been relying on SW for my business needs. They have been instrumental in assisting me with numerous projects, especially when it comes to sourcing special paints that may be difficult to find on my own. Previously, I used to visit the Franklin St store, where I first had the pleasure of meeting George. George's presence truly set the standard for the level of service I have come to appreciate from SW. When George transferred to the store near H St, I made the decision to relocate my business to this location as well. Compared to my past experiences at this particular store, which were not always satisfactory, I have noticed a significant improvement in service and overall experience with George at the helm. I am eager to witness the continuous growth and enhancement of this store as I continue to be a loyal customer.”
“Monarch Paints is full service paint store for both the professional and homeowner. They can easily provide hundreds of gallons for a commercial job as well as paint samples for your home project. A design center is attached, which offers consultations as well as a full selection of window treatments. Conveniently located next to Magruders with plenty of free parking which is a real plus in DC.”

2511 14th St NW, Washington“Just had THE best customer experience here. Walked in playing gopher for my contractor and Antonio saved the day for me. Got the paint match adjusted for a 5 gallon bucket (didn’t know that was a thing), reminded me to use my contractor’s account for discount and even carried the paint out to my car! Amazingly surprised and pleased with my visit from start to finish.”
“The level of customer service here is excellent. I have a retrofitted grooming van with all kinds of custom hoses and fittings. One of them broke and I had a major leak. I explained my problem to Mike and he was able to retrofit a toilet supply line, a hose barb, and clamps to create what I needed. He cut and fitted everything on the spot. I will be coming here for all my hardware needs in the future.”
