I’ve been friends with Doug for about 12 years and Modern Mobler in DC and Kensington are the best stores to shop at for Mid Century Modern Furniture, art, glassware and decor. It’s just like stepping into a Mad Men set.

I went the store in-person to buy a $3900 a dining room table I saw online. My friend and I were the only people in the store. We received no help. I tried to ask question. The woman rude and impatient. I don't buy anything from unhelpful, rude people.

After a recent trip to Portland, OR, I was inspired by a lot of the Danish and Midcentury pieces that I saw in vintage furniture stores. I found Modern Mobler through a Google search when I got back, and visited the DC store in person to look at a credenza posted on their website. Doug and his team were incredibly friendly and helpful, and ensured a speedy delivery of the piece to Baltimore, MD. I'm thrilled with the new addition to our home, and would recommend Modern Mobler for folks looking for high-quality, well-curated furniture.

We just had a fabulous furniture shopping experience with ModernMobler. Cynthia (Kensingston) was extremely helping with selection and arranging next-day local delivery. Even the day-of delivery crew was top notch. There's something really gratifying about investing in incredible vintage furniture whenever possible (considering both selection and cost). I will continue to check their website first before I buy anything mass-produced or new. It may not be possible - but I will always check there first!

This is the best furniture store in DC. Doug, the owner, was quick to respond when I contacted him nearly two years after a purchase with questions about potential damage caused by painters. He remembered the exact piece of furniture and let me know how to fix the situation. The pricing is more than fair for the pieces and Doug's eye for quality cannot be beat. I will be a customer for life!

I just purchased a beautiful table, a rare find in mint condition. The transaction was very easy and the staff was incredibly helpful. They open the store for me during off hours to accommodate my schedule. I look forward to going back there for more purchases.

Couple things*Prices are high but you get what you pay for in regards to the condition that said they need to do some spring cleaning??? Maybe I’m just a clean freak but they could hire some heavy lifters to clear the place out felt like half storage unit half show room.Back to my point if you’re not looking to spend cash save yourself the trip

Wonderful Experience! Doug, the owner, has more knowledge of Modern furniture in general and Danish Modern in particular than anyone else I have spoken with. He will give you the background and history of any piece you're interested in, so you know exactly what you will be getting when you are considering a purchase. More than just facts and details, he gives you a feel for the piece, so you can really understand how it will fit in your home. I love this guy :)

Great store and everyone was more than helpful. Prices are very high. I couldn't afford anything. I asked about a teak garbage can and was quoted $800-$1200. I also picked out a few Dansk candle holders which the guy didn't know the price. I gave him my email address, and still haven't gotten a price 3 days later.

I've tried to go to this store on two separate occasions. Each time I was met with rude upper management that wasted my time and did little, if anything, to make up for their mistakes in having me wait outside the store after having called to ensure the store was open. Furthermore, their stubbornness in refusing to admit their mistakes and offer any kind of conciliation was truly infuriating. While their collection of furniture is certainly nice (reason for the two stars) they overcharge like crazy. I was able to find the same couch I found in their store for 45% less and in much better condition. Having finally furnished my apartment from other vendors, I've learned that this store has a reputation of consistently rip customers off. I'm all for supporting small businesses like this, but my consistent poor experience with Modern Mobler leave me to have to leave this review.

I just bought my first piece from Modern Mobler after checking in every now and then. I have been watching the website for some years for something I just had to have. I had confidence in the business without ever visiting. The other day my piece of furniture was there and I bought it sight unseen! The description was stated that it was in excellent condition. I called and talked to one of the staff and she was very helpful. I was sold, so I purchased the item. The delivery was to Southern Maryland and the charge was reasonable. The best delivery I have had yet and the gentleman gave me more details about the piece. Five stars to all of you, and thanks so much.

I was skeptical on where to find good quality furniture because they all have bad wood, but my dad had mentioned this place so I went and checked it out. I was amazed on the quality and the prices. Such good materials and customer service. I made this my store of choice. Btw thanks a lot for instructing me on what to get! Definetly got the best out of the best! Great job keep it up guys! Much blessings.
