Dr Salsa Ayalew is great. She is very patient and clearly communicates what is going on during the exam and the appropriate next steps. Dee is also great with helping to select great frames and is responsive to style and pricing concerns.

Terrible experience. They tried to overcharge me about $150 for my exams. I had called my insurance beforehand and knew what the costs would be so luckily I knew they were wrong, but when I explained what the costs should be (which were clearly on my insurance papers) the administrative woman basically yelled at me that I was wrong and refused to listen. She only finally gave up when another staff member came over and agreed she was wrong. She did not apologize at all. They also told me if I bought my contact with them they would be cheaper than Costco (somehow coming up with a savings of like $50). Of course, when I called Costco after my contacts were $100 cheaper to buy with them. Don’t believe anything they tell you here and always know what you should expect to pay before you walk in. I felt like I was being scammed.

Dr. Saba Ayalew provides an excellent examination and advice, taking into account personal and family history. As somebody who has gone through many eye exams over the past 50 years, I would highly recommend her and the team at Metropolitan Optical.

Great professional optical services. I’ve purchased prescription glasses twice with Metropolitan in last year. Customer service is excellent. High quality and reasonably priced frames. Paul at the Penn Ave shop most recently helped me with selecting non-slip prescription glasses for working out. Very happy with them and the Lunor glasses purchased in 2023.

Order a pair of glasses are overpriced and customer service is soooooooo slow - 2 months late for my order to be ready. One staff isn’t being proactive and kept delayed to ensure that I could not get refund which is almost $500. One Pro- My eye doctor is best and it’s my 2nd year seeing her. I will attend to see my eye doctor there but do not buy glasses at that place. I do suggest you to purchase a glasses at Warby Parker.

I called the company. About emergency eye care. The receptionist told me the exam will be 180 dollars. I said okay no problem. Can I schedule an appointment. She said yes placed me on hold for 5 minutes. Than reply I have a number for you to call. I said I thought you said I could seek help here. She said unfortunately no. If you don’t want African Americans at your place of business. That’s fine but next time just be honestly. And waste time!
