Honestly, if you can get it shipped to you. Do it! I ordered my bag online for pick up. It said it would be ready in 3 hours. 4 days later it was finally ready. Went to pick it up and the sales lady was only concerned about whether or not I was with the other couple who walked in behind me. (I was not). Told her I needed to pick up my online purchase and she immediately went for the smallest bag to hand me (assuming I couldn't afford something larger) and then questioned me when I gave her my name. When she did find my bag. She asked me my name, order number, billing address. I would have happily handed over my ID but she was too busy questioning me. I then asked a question about another bag in the store and she looked me up and down before answering. Mind you, I did not walk in from the gym. I came from work, I was very put together. And I was treated as if I was trying to steal my bag I had already purchased.

Love Longchamp and I finally got to visit the boutique in DC during the Longchamp x Andre' Saraiva collaboration. Longchamp has great quality pieces for both men and women for a reasonable price while giving a lux feel. The client associate was lovely, inviting and helpful in showing different pieces available. The customer service was excellent and the fact there was a nice variety of the Andre' collection was a plus. I was able to pick up small leather good - phone / wallet pouch and a shirt from Andre's collection. The packaging and gift was a delight. I plan to go back and visit frequently. The boutique is located in the City Center in DC.

I love this store! It’s one of very few physical locations in the US so it was nice to step in the actual store and see the bags’ colors in person. The store attendant was very friendly and helpful!

This store was so disorganized. I came in casually looking for a wedding clutch, found a purse, was ready to drop nearly $300 on it (it was on sale), and then the employee said she couldn't find it at the sale price in the system. She and another employee then explained that they'd just had a sale, it had ended, and that some of the items were mislabeled. Rather than honoring the sale price right then and there, they got my name and number and said they'd call me back to let me know. Welp, it's been 4 days and I haven't heard anything. At this point, I've decided against buying the purse (which isn't available online in the color I was considering). It's really too bad but it is what it is.

The DC store has gone through many staff changes, but what remains true is that they're extremely responsive to the experience you want as a customer. Some people want dedicated attention and even to be a bit fawned over. Others, of which I'm one, prefer a casual, chatty experience and time to explore on my own with some occasional input and suggestions. Even though most of my purchases are Le Pliage travel bags (my go-to engagement/birthday gift for anyone who loves travel), the staff remember me and remember the bags I've bought. I would note that I've bought bags in France, Germany, and in the US in NY as well as DC, and the experience has been the same everywhere, which tells me this is corporate culture, and that's a huge point for me. REPAIRS: many people don't realize, Longchamp will provide a complimentary repair for their Pliage bags, which with heavy use -- especially laptops -- can get small holes in the corners... the downside is, it can take weeks to get the bag back, because they may send it to France for repairs, but what other brand would even do to that for a nylon bag under $150? I had a strap issue on a leather messenger bag a few years ago, and they replaced it with a new one, no question, and kept me well informed of the progress and were wonderful. VALUE: Longchamp is a brand that hasn't lost the perspective that luxury isn't about letting people know you can afford a $6k bag - it's about making an investment in a quality item that will last you a lifetime. The only bags that come close in comfort/weight/utility are Balenciaga Moto/City/Work bags - but they're very specifically styled. And they're 2-4x the price! I was genuinely shocked that Hermès leathers are no nicer than LC leathers... but not surprising, considering as told to me by an associate no longer at the DC store, and confirmed in an article in an in-flight magazine I read in Morocco, Hermès and LC leathers both come from the same tanneries. Other bags come in and out of fashion, but Longchamp bags never go out of style. Hidden gem bag tip: Their 3D tote is the most underrated tote on the designer market. The clever strap on the side of the bag let's you slip your hand through to carry the bag under your arm securely, but comfortably, if you step on the metro for example, and don't want it hanging crossbody style. It's simple design, super light weight leather that only gets better with age, and softness make this one of my most-used bags. Fun story: I once saw Serena Williams walk into the Longchamp boutique in Paris, carrying her small dog under one arm, and eating what looked like a ham sandwich with the other... she dropped crumbs everywhere, and was feeding her dog bits of the sandwich as she walked around. Strange, very cringeworthy experience as a fellow American!

how are you going to have a sign saying youre open but the door is locked, no one answered my knocks, and no one answered my multiple phone calls made multiple times throughout the morning and afternoon. i drove all the way to dc to get my bag and you don't open your doors during your business hours?

I received horrid service from a rude employee. I went to this location to have my bag repaired. That part was easy and stress free. Four weeks later I get a call to pick up my bag. The sales woman was friendly at first but then she told me that the repair couldn't be completed, rendering the bag unusable. She explained store policy about the repair which I understand but I wanted to talk to someone else about it. When I asked for the contact information to discuss this at first she said, "they won't change anything." That's not what I asked. I just want the contact information. She finally gave it to me but shrugged her shoulders and said the bag wasn't new so oh well. I'm glad the store and brand don't stand by their products but I didn't appreciate her tone and attitude during my transaction so I emailed about it. She calls me the next day and still doesn't identify herself. She launches into a a rant about the service she provided. She then double down and said she didn't provide horrid service. I don't need her to agree with me but you can't debate my opinion. She then asked if I had ever made a purchase at the store before because auto correct misspelled the name of the store in my email. How rude. I wonder if I was white if I would have been asked such a question. I have made numerous purchases at other locations and Nordstrom and have always received exemplary service. The City Center location employees are in dire need of training. The problem is they don't think their attitude is a problem. I will never make a purchase at this location again and I hope the employee who refuses to identify herself gets the training she desperately needs or finds another line of work in the back of a store where she doesn't have to have face to face communication with customers.
