Spent more time looking for parking than I spent in the store. It's an ok bookstore. Mostly new but some used. It's clean and the selection seems varied. It's just not really worth the trouble unless you're already in the neighborhood for something else. And the prices online will be better.

Super cute bookstore located in a vibrant district. The staff was friendly and helpful. I got swept away with reading all the staff reviewed books. Highly recommend spending a little time in this store and the surrounding neighborhood.

Wonderful bookstore with a large, well-curated collection and friendly staff. I found it via the Independent Bookstore Day event and will definitely be back! I especially loved the thoughtful “staff picks” notes placed throughout the store. I was able to find a couple of names that had similar taste in books to me, and wound up buying a book based on a recommendation!

My go to neighborhood bookstore. Lost City is everything. The staff is kind and approachable with the selection being quite expansive. They host monthly book clubs that are a nice community to tap into and their Halloween parties are lit!

Great vibe and selection of books as well as cards and some gift-y things. If they don’t have a book in stock, they can order it for you. Dogs are welcome inside. I enjoy the staff recommendations shelf.

Brilliant selections. Tons of recommendation cards inserted on the bookshelves. It's great to know what the locals are reading. The rare books are cool, too.

I don’t normally leave reviews for places, but I visited this bookstore last week while I was on a school trip to Washington, D.C. To preface this, I have Ehlers-Danlos Syndrome and was on crutches at this point in the trip, as well as carrying around a ton of medication in my bag in case I had a flare-up.While I was checking out, my medication spilled everywhere. I was really frazzled and exhausted, and was mumbling about being unable to pay for lunch while some of the other students on the trip were helping me clean up the spill. The cashier gave me two receipts and said “Oh no, it seems that I printed two accidentally, I guess that means you can get two free pizzas next door.”My friends got me outside and helped me get my medications back in order, and we got pizza. It was a really good experience and honestly I nearly cried from that small extra kindness the cashier and my friends afforded me.Also, it’s a cute bookstore and had a bunch of books I’ve been wanting to read but haven’t been able to find in my hometown. 11/10, would recommend

Lost City Books is one of my favorite bookstores in the DC area in general, and even better than Kramer’s in Dupont Circle. You can find a book on literally any subject that you can think of. Unlike Kramer’s, there’s also a place for individuals to sit down and read through the books, and I think that’s really important if you are deciding which book or books you eventually want to buy. They’ve got a unique collection of poetry I highly recommend checking out.

This is a better bookstore in Washington DC. The store space is spacious and old-fashioned. The selection has all the independent standards and it also has some original picks. I didn't know it was here and stopped by with a scooter. I didn't want to eat on the block and I didn't see any other store..bookstores are heroes and bookstores are the best places..this bookstore is the numero tres. I would come back here. The others can boo boo kitty boo.

Really great local bookstore in the middle of the Adams Morgan/18th St NW strip. I especially appreciate the selection of used books they have, the customer service, and the discount at Andy's Pizza next door when you buy a book. Such a good combo.

Favorite bookstore in DC. Really friendly and helpful staff! Take your receipt next door to Andy’s for a free slice of pizza. Perhaps the best neighborly deal in the District!

Freshly revamped, this bookstore's a jewel, where tales and tomes make bibliophiles drool. With curated shelves that beckon and call, genres aplenty, there's something for all. From mystery's depths to romance's highs, each book a treasure, a delightful surprise. And let's not forget, amidst the prose, a fine selection of cards for those who compose. A place of wonder, where stories unfold, this bookstore's charm, forever bold.
