Have rented from Hertz for years. We specifically choose this location for the convenience and the customer service. They have the vehicle I've needed and quickly resolve any issues professionally. I have rented from other companies as well and none of them are perfect. Sometimes you'll find an employee that isn't the most polished or all smiles. The car is usually very clean, but I have found trash on occasion after I left. If I checked closer and asked them to clean it out, I'm sure they would've done it for me. It have been a big deal. Personally, I have always had a great experience when renting from this location so I keep coming back. It's right on the train and easy to get in and out.
Side note ... The renovations at Union station for the car rental and bus terminals are greatly appreciated. Looking forward to the next update with EV charging stations at this location so all vehicles can be fully charged at pick up.

Found mold in our rental and got additional charges with no explanation on my card. I’ve tried calling multiple times and they didn’t pick up.

Poor management, very difficult to locate, unwarranted and impossible to remove fees. Would recommend avoiding renting with this business.

Worst service, The wait line to get the car is more than 30 minute, the cars are in terrible condition if you are lucky to get the car, because they don’t have enough cars. The staff is rude and uneducated. Pls use another rental company.

A catastrophe.
We rented a car at 11:30.
First they offer us a smaller car and then we don't get one.
Now we have to wait 4 hours and hope that a car even arrives today.
You don't even want to call another station to see if one is available there.
They only refer you to the telephone hotline.

When I was a kid, I got my wisdom teeth, removed, I was numbed but fully conscious. That was a more pleasant experience than what I just went through at the Hertz rental. Not to kick them when they are down, but WOW. People have been complaining about the same issues with this location (lack of signage, filthy area, not enough people working the counter, etc.) for over a year and nothing has changed. It genuinely took me 30 min of searching to find the Hertz booth. It was a workout, going up and down ramps, asking other rental car companies where you are at. Then I waited another 30 min in line to get my rental car. When I got to my spot in line I was told that the gas car I had paid EXTRA money for wasn’t there. They only had electric vehicles, no sort of discount. The rental had 28% Batery. I’m not surprised about their ratings and if possible I would recommend a different, more accessible, location

Convenient location. Multiple reviews warned about poor quality of service and lack of cars. ! I got luck that an upgraded car was available for pick up ( not originally that I booked). At the same location another customer who prepaid for his car was told that they had no cars. Hit and miss.

Would be 0 if possible
I made a reservation the night before successfully and then I showed up and they said sorry we don’t have any cars, they’re all already reserved so you can’t pick anything up. So now I am down the $30 Uber from my apartment, 1.5 hours and have to cancel my plans.
And note this was not because people had not returned their cars. It was because they had to provide the cars to people who had already made reservations.
Do yourself a favor and spend a little bit more to get a better experience at another company, I will not rent from Hertz again.

I’ve been renting with Hertz for years but this experience takes the cake for the worst one yet. I booked my car and received my confirmation. At the service desk, the staff informed me that there are no more cars left. I had to arrange alternate transportation and was embarrassingly late to the event I traveled in from NY for. Don’t take your reservation for granted here. Avoid!

Everything went as expected and without a hitch. The travel agency had booked the car from Italy for us. On the day of collection it was delivered to us clean and well maintained. As far as I'm concerned it was an excellent experience even though I was worried given the not so great reviews.

The booth is easier to find now than it used to be, and the service was good on a Monday afternoon. The signage inside the station is tricky. Go to the top floor of the station and follow signs for the garage.

I'm Presidents Circle. Reserved a car. Arrived, and they had no cars to rent. They were totally unapologetic and blamed a failure of their location's system and the central system to sync. But clearly, this is a not a new problem given all the identical reviews below. We were trying to drop our kid off at college so this was a near disaster. Had to scramble to each of the other car rental counters, located all on different floors, of this location. National/Enterprise had plenty of cars, and although they initially quoted a high rate, when I explained the situation, they eagerly matched Hertz's rate. National/Enterprise was professional and friendly. They saved us from a disaster. I've been loyal to Hertz for several decades, but I think this is the last straw. It is simply unacceptable to not have a single car available, and to not notify a customer in advance if this is the case, so they can make other arrangements. So disappointing.

HOW DOES THIS PLACE STILL OPERATE?!?! It is a joke and so are the useless employees. They basically just take up space because they have no answers to questions, and no ability to do anything to assist. I simply requested to cancel my reservation in person (because I couldn't do it prior to arriving due to the phone number listed on my confirmation being not in service), and I was told I had to call to do that! They provided me a different number that I didn't have, and was on hold over 10 minutes and NO ONE ever answered. I had to contact my credit card to block the charge because I never got through to Hertz. This is definitely the worst experience with an alleged "company" that I have ever had; Hertz and Dollar are a perfect example of customer service and good work ethic being "dead". It was a complete waste of time and an extremely stressful start to a trip planned well in advance.
Please read all of the reviews so you don't make the mistake I did. They are an absolute disgrace; their poorly trained and dismissive employees are the perfect representation of the joke this company is.
At this point, they should have another class action lawsuit filed against them! They should not be allowed to operate this way. Don't waste your time or money here! You'll be SORRY if you do.
