Contrary to the general review, my wife and I had no problems picking it up. We booked the car 3 months before collection through a third-party provider (Check24) and received the car according to the booking. We were also asked for a corresponding toll pass (E-ZPass) and received this for an additional charge. All fees that we paid on site (second driver, one-way surcharge (D.C. - Miami, Florida)) were as high as clarified in advance. In addition, as with almost all rental providers, there is a deposit.
However, we were given two tickets for the exit and it wasn't really explained to us how to use them. A hotel employee kindly told us this after we had only used one ticket and showed us the cost was $56. Otherwise everything is fine.

Alexis was very friendly.
The whole handover procedure hast taken 10 Minutes.

Terrible attention from the girl who work there. They took 700 USD from me because no one checked my car and when I asked for it urgently she got angry.

DO NOT RENT FROM THIS LOCATION: This location is so ghetto and unprofessional… on several occasions they have confirmed rentals for me and then called the morning of the pick up or not even called just waited for me to arrive to inform me they have no available rentals. They have left me and my family stuck stranded even on holidays! So unprofessional! They have a manager named Alexis that will spend more time arguing and going back and forth instead of doing her job! It’s always an excuse I have text messages where she has shared confidential hertz information with me in an effort of making but yet another excuse on behalf of her company. I have called several times around or before 5 pm and the phones will advise you that the location is closed for the day which again is so very misleading and she has approved for her staff to do so again I have this in writing from Alexis. When she can not resolve matters and you ask for her supervisor or management info she advises you that they have no area manager you have to call dollar or hertz customer service or she provides inaccurate contact information for people who don’t exist or work for the company - today while I was trying to pick up a rental I was discriminated against and told by the employee Alexis that the supervisor Alexis advised her not to rent me a car under no circumstances after I was told to come to the location and if a car was returned they would get me on my way 2 cars were returned while there and I was told they cars that were returned were out of my class type like what if you don’t have what I reserved I’m supposed to get next available then when Alexis got tired of lying that’s when she informed me that the supervisor Alexis told her not to rent to me when I advised her I was not on the do not rent list so that was illegal she tried back peddling but I had a witness of the phone and I recorded the entire interaction this morning and provided it to my attorney and I also contacted the Better Business cause at this point this is discrimination/harassment the rep Alexis told me she could help me but choose not to when I was on her personal call in the hotel common area not in there hertz cubical I called her boss a coward for not answering my several calls and/or text saying whatever she was advising to her rep to my face! Her rep provided me with a contact for the regional manager that supervisor Alexis told me did not exist and she again provided me a non working email so I had to contact the Maryland location and speak with there manager who supposedly emailed Alexis and the area manager to which again I am yet to receive a response and it is the close of business- unprofessional on so many levels

They steal your money - charge you extra - give you rentals that have the fuel light on. Its impossible to get to anyone in customer service. Trust me, I'm an avid traveler traveling every week and I have never had so many issues with anything relating to travel.
The cars are not ready when you book. You just sit and wait and wait. Then told to call customer service. Customer service cannot help and tell you to go to the website.
You will spend more than is quoted - with no extras! Because they rip you off at every turn. Not to mention leave you waiting for hours to get your car.
This has to be the worst car rental agency in the world. Go somewhere else. It would have been faster to go out to the airport and back then rent here. They were rude, unhelpful and incompetent.

This hertz /dollar rental should be your last option. They are a struggle company ..
The guy that's always here , usually by himself has great customer service kind and tries really hard. But the company itself, overselling cars, running low to having no cars available
Having several parties waiting at a time .. they should just discontinue offering service . People are waiting 2 hours plus and having to travel at their expense to other locations to pick up cars.
This makes the company look like trash. Try enterprise or maybe even the airport or get around or turo but avoid this place or have as last option.

Long line of people, no cars to honor any of our reservations. Dunno how this kind of business practice is allowed.
Guy at the front desk was nice and pretty chill though, especially considering the situation he was in he didn’t create.

Nobody was at the desk, after being told that there’d be a car for me after there was no car at the Union Station location despite having made a reservation in advance. Instead, they sent me to a third place. Hertz is a mess and I never got a rental car. Do not book with Hertz if you need a rental car, they have systematic policy of misdirection, costing me ~$100 in Ubers going around the city.

Not really sure why the rating was low. I had a pleasant experience. Rented 3 cars within a span of 2 weeks early December, no issues. Location is good and the car delivery was smooth. Thanks to the 2 gentlemen (Tauru & Keyshawn) and lady (Alexes) who were very helpful. One of the most convenient thing is that the car drop off is 24hrs regardless whether the office is open or not which most of other car rental don't offer in the city (you have to pay an overnight charge).

We have been waiting for 25 minutes after the start of our reservation and no one is at the desk. The kind concierge here went and checked and the Hertz employee is down in the garage. I went down to the garage to check and he told me he will be “up soon.” We are going to be late to our appointment because of Hertz’s complete lack of caring. I wish the locations were not so hit or miss. Some are great.
