I don't know what's going on. I walked in to make an appointment and there was no one in the building but an elderly man asleep in the waiting room chairs. When I came in he woke up and asked me a question but there was a language barrier so he called someone and handed me the phone. The man on the other end asked how he could help me and I told him I wanted to make an appointment with a tax preparer and he said he would be there shortly. I waited for a very long time like 30-40 minutes and the guy showed up and made an appointment with me for the following Monday. He chose the day and time. When I showed for the appointment it was the same situation. No one there but the elderly man. He called the tax preparer again and he asked me what I needed. I reminded him that we had an appointment and he said he would be there shortly. I waited 20 minutes and left.

Last year's tax experience was great compared to this year. Sadly, this year has left such a disappointing experience, I will not be coming back here and I don't recommend them. I paid over $400 for them to help me file, to only have had the taxes filed wrong, for me to get penalized by the IRS, for them to be condescending throughout the whole process, and I'm now wasting hours a week on hold with the IRS trying to untangle this mess. To add insult to injury, I had to pay Federal taxes, in CA and in DC. You're better off using DirectFile and going somewhere else.

I came here to do my taxes because I believed that something on my W2's was incorrect. The previous tax season I received a refund, and this tax season I owed almost $3,000. I printed out pay stubs and an overview of all of my pay history through my work and a note detailing my problem. When they called me in to tell me my taxes were done, he said the reason I owed so much was because I jumped a tax bracket. I should have known what the tax brackets are, but trusted that I was getting the correct advice from someone who deals with taxes for their job. Turns out, I did not jump a tax bracket and am in fact $20,000 away from doing so. And on top of this, they charged me $300 to file my taxes with them. This felt like a money grab from someone who did not want to take the time to go through all of my papers and actually find out if there was a problem.

I went two days ago because I needed to notarize a letter and when I arrived the lady told me you can wait 10 minutes and I told her that I was going to come back and come back in half an hour and the lady told me that she was not ready and then I went to a store nearby and I came back and it was still not ready, I waited almost 2 hours and when I arrived she told me that in 10 minutes terrible service.

Sonya completely messed up my taxes, I trusted her to file 3 years of taxes, all she cared about was the money. She entered my information incorrectly and took 6 weeks to notify me, no apology. She offered a discount to file next years taxes, like I would give her the chance to mess up my money again. The branch is completely unprofessional. She does not respond to emails and the front desk is no help either. I will NEVER use H&R Block again, I filed a complaint and they never got back to me.. claiming to have no control over the offices. I will never recommend H&R BLock to anyone and I will tell my story to save anyone from headache I went through. I had to call the IRS myself and to figure it out to get my money, you have been warned !

AVOID MAKING YOUR TAXES HERE. They are irresponsible, they print you a copy of the taxes and NEVER send them. The owner and the person in charge of the place are liars, they tell you that everything is fine and it turns out that they never send the taxes. HR Block should re-evaluate their franchise being under such unprofessional people. The owner Sonya is dismissive and does not treat the public well. I write this review in Spanish because the majority of her clients are Spanish-speaking, and the owner takes advantage of the lack of knowledge of many of her clients and practically scams because they charge for a service that they do not provide.
