Bought our Christmas tree there this year. After experiencing not so great service at a nearby gardening center, it was a refreshing change to shop at Ginkgo. We received friendly and genuinely caring service. Plus our tree is beautiful! Highly recommend.

This shop because of its location. The indoor plants are fine, the usual varieties, though of varying quality (check the roots and soil). The outdoor selection is nice, especially seasonal plants. The service is abysmal - they make you feel like you are almost in their way. Forget about a smile or a friendly chat. After years of tolerating it (including landscaping service), we will not be back. I'm looking forward to patronizing the new shops that have opened nearby!

My girlfriend and I stopped by Gingko Gardens after some online searching of where to buy plants in DC. We’ve stopped by a few other chain stores and have purchased some plants, but I wish we came here first! They have a diverse selection of plants, pots, supplies, etc. and everyone is so kind. Plus, there’s tons of cute stuff that make gifting a plant or just buying one for your home so easy and beautiful. I’ve never experienced such affordable pricing. They’ll even repot the plant and pot you purchase for a small fee. Major shoutout to the woman who reported our new 5’5” tree in a 16 inch pot. I was about to do it in the Lowe’s parking lot, but she took care of it for us. We got this plant on sale and picked a pot (which happened to be discounted due to some chipping). In total we spent $150 on what would have been $300+ everywhere else.If you’re looking to buy a plant, this is the spot.

Nice neighborhood store if you want to buy some plants. However, I CANNOT RECOMMEND for landscaping services. I recently contracted them to remove some trees from my yard and do basic landscaping, and on this I would give barely one point only because once they finally did the work, it was good. But they were extremely uncommunicative and for weeks would not respond despite multiple emails from me. They finally gave me a date for works and then did not show up. Finally a month later after I threatened to cancel the contract and ask for my (incredibly expensive) deposit back, finally they said "oh, look, we found space for you tomorrow." The entire work took about max of 10 hours (one and a quarter days). Mark said there was "one job" ahead of me in July (already several months after I'd given them the deposit so I could "get in line"), which is just not credible given the small amount of work that my yard ended up requiring when they finally got to me in September. I should not have harangue them by email dozens of times and resort to threats to get some basic communication.Actual work was good, efficient, they cleaned up the area and no complaints on that side, but incredibly frustrating and bad customer service. I will be looking elsewhere for my backyard work.

I highly recommend this place for your plant needs in DC area. The selection for plants, specially indoor plants, are unbeatable in this store. I probably spent over an hour here yesterday and could have easily spent more time. For me, I really appreciated their selection of indoor vines because I just don’t see don’t frequently.

I always love to submerge myself in this wonderful slice of heaven. They have a plethora of different plants and amazing variety. I lose myself at every turn. Something different catches my eye from the statues, pottery. waterfall…Best kept secret on the Hill

my god this place is a plant paradise. the inside is brimming with houseplants of all shapes and sizes in every nook and cranny. also i was shocked at the reasonable prices. our total was only $60 for several herbs, an outdoor plant, a bag of potting soil, a large clay pot, and a medium sized ponytail palm. i can’t wait to go back, i was in awe of the effort put into this green gem. be sure to check out the upstairs too they have an incredible array of indoor plants.

This is such a cool spot. Packed to the brim with amazing gifts for any plant enthusiast. Every where you turn there's an amazing planter or plant. It's now the yearly spot I turn to for mother's day gifts. Don't miss the upstairs too.

I have a fig tree that tends to take over whenever it can. I have had it pruned many times, but this year I hired Gingko Gardens to do it. They did a great job--they struck to my specifications and also trimmed another tree in my yard. Their clean-up was above and beyond what was needed. I would recommend any time.

Love this place! All the staff is super knowledgeable about the plants, and the stuff they sell is in good shape.

So disappointed. Went in to have one outdoor planter repotted for winter and to have basic clean up of postage sized front yard. Asked for two basic things-- No purple and yard/pot to be pretty. They did clean up yard but didn't even add mulch as it was not needed. The pot is anything but pretty. The price was outrageous. They were there for 1.5 hours, replanted one put and charged almost $500. When I went to complain and ask that they return and add some height, etc. to the planter, they were rude, told me I got what I asked for and sent another invoice. I had given them a $230 deposit and would never recommend nor use them again. Very sad that they do not stand behind their work nor are they interested in customer satisfaction

Good houseplant selection! They had a mix of common and rare plants. I was greeted by staff but they let me browse uninterrupted after that (which is what I prefer). The plants looked healthy and taken care of.

I came to browse. It's ok. A bit too hyped from the reviews. I was expecting it to be bigger. Average selection of indoor & outdoor plants. Annoying mosquitoes flying around especially in the indoor plant section. I looked around for probably less than 10 minutes & already got bitten.

This review is hard to write because the staff was incredibly friendly and really helpful throughout my visit. However, I find this plant shop to be quite overrated. I cannot speak for the outdoor plants but the indoor / houseplant selection was quite limited and included almost no rare/tropical plants. Most if not all the pots in the store were dirty and/or had spider webs not to mention the colony of mosquitoes living on their wall of cash pots / plastic nursery pots.
