Horrible experience - they don’t allow re-usable bags (despite signage in all the checkout lines saying otherwise) because they’re worried about theft. You either have to juggle everything you buy or use their plastic bags.
Was there on a Monday afternoon and there were more security guards than customers, tell me how that’s saving them any money.
Idk why they’re worried about theft when half the shelves are empty anyway, the produce is bad and the freezers are constantly broken.

I was going to try this store as an alternative to my usual neighborhood grocery store. Then I saw the ‘no bag’ policy referred to in other customers’ reviews. Sorry, that’s a deal breaker. I won’t bother coming in now.

New policy not letting in bags through the door or guaranteeing their security. Making it impossible to stop by to pick up groceries on the way home. Had to go elsewhere.

Stunk of weed. Old and beat up. Not a great selection.

Used to be a weekly shopper here before the new no-bag policy (which a security officer told me only applies to men?!) It's hard to carry all the groceries for a week without my grocery cart or backpack.
Bummer because the location is great for me but will have to start traveling a bit further so I can get everything I need without having to make multiple trips.
Aside from that the store has limited selection and the quality of the produce is usually a miss. Any produce on sale is going to be out of stock or moldy.

Horrendous new bag policy - I understand shoplifting has been a problem, but disallowing customers to carry small backpacks with personal belonging with them while they shop feels like Giant is taking a blunt approach with total disregard for shopper’s inconvenience.
I simply will not leave my work bag and laptop in your unsecured shopping cart when trying to shop on my walk home. Your security told me he “wasn’t going anywhere,” but how would he have any idea if this particular bag doesn’t belong to someone else who picks it up before I return? I’ll plan to shop at the Safeway when coming from downtown in the evenings.
This is not a workable policy for anyone shopping while running other errands or neighborhood commuters coming home from work.
You’ll keep my couple-item trip shopping business since I live on your block, but you’ll loose my business anytime I know I’ll have a bag and I’ll plan to go to another store on my way home.

ridiculous and inane bag policy. this area is filled with commuters who have laptop bags and backpacks who want to shop on their way home. the new bag policy prevents folks from doing so. absolutely ridiculous policy that only affects their most frequent customers while doing very little to prevent actual theft.
serious question to the GM: do you think thieves come in with full bags? are you aware that shopping bags fold to pocket size?

No back packs allowed?! Can't shop here any more.
Second review: this time harassed physically by a security guard for carrying a pack below the size that's forbidden. Racism? Harassment?
Anyone know what DC agency to report to?

You can’t bring bags or grocery carts into the store. Terrible produce selection. I only shop here when I absolutely have to and when I move I’ll be sure to avoid being in any neighborhood serviced by Giant.
